Week 1 down! This little one sprouted quickly. I popped her in some soil and went away overnight, and when I returned the next day she was peeking out already! Hopefully this bodes well for the future :) She's a teeny bit paler than I'd like--I might be imagining it but I think I see the tips of her tiny little leaves lightening slightly, so I'm going to lift up the light by a few inches this week and see what happens.

Honestly not much change in her, just a bit of leaf growth. I'm a bit concerned because the last plant started out this slow and ended up tiny--but that one also had some issues with over-lighting and over-watering that so far haven't been a problem with this plant. I gave her a little taste of nutes today, we'll see how she takes to them and adjust from there. I have no idea what's going on with that tiny little leaf on the top there. If it's something that actually has an explanation, I'd definitely appreciate input from more experienced growers. For now, I'll just assume that she's a weird little one.

Would you look at that! She really exploded in growth this week! Teeny bit of nute burn, but overall I think it was well worth it. I'm giving her a little break from the nutes this week so she's not overwhelmed. Woohoo, you go girl!

Such growth, wow! So, I honestly forgot that I gave her a break from the nutes last week, thinking that she did have them. Because of that brain fart, I watered her without nutes this week! Oops! I think she'll be fine though--this strain doesn't seem to want much in the way of nutes, so I think she'll hold out well until her next watering. Since she was growing upward pretty quickly, I decided to throw in another light bulb, too, and she's taking it very well!

Another week, another update! As expected, it took until today for the soil to dry out enough that she wanted more water. That sucks because she went a pretty long time without nutes thanks to my mess-up last week, and you can definitely tell by looking at her that she's in need of them. I gave her some today, so hopefully she'll recover quickly!

She recovered well, and what a burst of growth! I'm giving her some nutes this week as well since she's handling it well, so we'll take a break from them next week. She's started smelling just a little bit and growing some little fuzz, so I think I'll mark next week as the first week of flowering! I've tied her just a little bit to the side, now that she's getting taller. We'll see how she reacts over the course of this week.

No nutes this week! Giving her a little breather. She's been growing well! I'm starting to tie her to the side a bit to keep her from getting too tall, and to promote more branches. She's being a bit stubborn about it, but I'm hoping with some more gentle encouragement she'll have some come in over the next few weeks!

Just about half way there! Interestingly enough, she wasn't too happy with that nute-free week. I thought that autoflowers generally didn't want too many nutes, but I guess every plant is a bit different! I accidentally over-did the FloraGro a bit as I was on auto-pilot after measuring out the others equally, but I don't think she'll mind too much. She definitely seems to prefer constant nutes and doesn't like breaks, so I may try to do like 3 on 1 off with the nutes instead of the almost every-other schedule I've been on. Regardless, she's already twice the size that my last grow was at this point, so I'm happy!

Updating a day late as I've been quite sick, but am on the mend. Just a little bit of growth! I think I might start increasing the frequency of her waterings as the soil has started drying out more quickly. That one leaf grew out a bit too close to the light and learned its lesson! I may have to run out to home depot and pick up some more buckets to make extra spacers.

She's sure getting frosty! As you can probably tell, she's been growing too close to the lights, so I'm thinking of switching them out for gentler bulbs. I've tied her down away from it more, and I'm going to increase her water schedule. I've also gotten some recommendations on raising her nutes. I just gave her water today, but on Wednesday or Thursday I'll give her some extra and see how she takes it. I do really need to buy some more buckets to make extra spacers. I may run out sometime this week to do that.

I just gave her extra nutes a bit over a day ago, so we're still seeing how she handles them. It's been very humid, so I'm hoping that helps to keep the light burn at bay, but she's very determined to hug these bulbs. I did switch one light out for a weaker one, and may remove one altogether. The downside of the humidity is that we seem to have some guests--tiny little gnat-like flies of some sort, confined to the bucket. There don't seem to bee too many, but I'm going to see what I can do to kill them without hurting the plant or the bud. Once she's out, I'm going to have to give the tray a very deep scrubbing as I think they may have started in there. On the bright side... look at her sparkle!

Still chuggin along! It looks like the little flies I noticed last time are actually mostly gone--they liked the moist coco, but once I watered her and drenched her in some nute water they mostly peaced out. Today I only saw one which promptly fled once I started watering. I think at this point it's late enough in the process that there isn't much point in doing a bunch of treatments to try to get rid of them.

She's still suffering from the light, so I decided to go ahead and just take a bulb or two out. At this point, I think she's as grown as she's going to get, so less wattage probably isn't going to affect the yield. Just counting the days until I can harvest her! The last one was ready at about 16 weeks, so I'm excepting about the same for this one.

A little bit late, the holidays have been busy! She's coming along well. At this point I'm just waiting for harvest. No nutes this week, thought I'd give her a break! Have a great week, everyone. :)

She's so close to harvest that I feel like I shouldn't be giving her nutes anymore. However, I'm not seeing the trichomes getting very reddish so I might throw in just a small amount of nutes in her next watering to see if that helps move things along. I can't wait to see how much she produces! It's so hard to wait!

She's really taking her sweet time. I keep avoiding nutes thinking she's going to be ready to harvest soon, and instead she just sluggishly keeps chugging along. There are finally a few reddish trichomes though, so I'm hoping next weekend I'll get to make some holiday brownies! :)

Well, she survived! The resilience of this strain has so far made it a very good beginner plant for me. I can very easily tell where I need to improve and how each plant is better than the next as I learn.

Despite the fact that the bud has been drying for several days and has noticeably reduced in size, I still don't feel like it's quite dry. Because of that, I went ahead and rounded down to 4 grams. Most of this bud will be going into baked goods, so when those are done I may throw in some pictures just for fun :) I have not yet tried any, so I'll update with the consumption-related details later. UPDATE: I made white chocolate blondies using the trim and a little bit of bud. I thought it would be fun to theme them after the Northern Lights, since that's the strain! You can find a picture above. Honestly, they turned out wonderfully. I measured them to about 1/2 gram of plant matter per blondie. Really though, 1/2 of a blondie will keep me high all day, and 1/4 of one is great for a long evening. I am VERY pleased with the results. The rest of the bud has been curing in a jar in my room and whenever I open it, it smells curiously of peaches. It's actually wonderful. I'm still smoking through my last harvest so this one has some time to cure yet until I begin smoking it.00

@DeepRoot3d, Thanks! The ceiling lights in my room are white LEDs so I think that might make them look a bit more blue in pictures, but they are still a cool-toned, sort of webby color. Definitely a bit different that my last plant of the same type. I can't wait to see how they smoke!

You should raise your nute ratio little bit, she is suffering for nutes.. light green leaves not good, it means she doesn't get enough food from soil, and take it from the leaves... ✌️🏼 Good luck..

@420_liquidsun, Thanks for the tip! I wish I'd seen that before I watered her today. I always worry that I'm giving her too many. I'll pump them up a bit next time and see how she responds!

Just wanted to pop in with a quick update. I figured out why her growth slowed down so much! It seems that sometime in the past two weeks, a very angry infestation of white fungus has begun taking over the bottom of the fabric pot. Since she's so close to harvest anyways, I decided to go ahead and just cut her rather than try to fight it and risk losing the bud. At this point, the infestation was contained to the bottom of the pot and hadn't reached the rest of the plant yet, so I think the bud will be fine. She's currently drying, so I'll update with the final harvest stats once she's dry enough to weigh. Lessons learned: - I need to be much stricter about emptying the water tray. In the past couple of weeks I've been neglecting it and letting water just sit there. I thought it was okay because the pot is held up way above where the water is, but the fungus still had a good go at her. From now on, I need to keep a firm schedule of watering in the morning and emptying the tray in the evening, without fail. No standing water, ANYWHERE. EVER. - In the early stages, I need to cater the light more responsively to the plant's growing patterns. She had too little light at first and shot way up, and then to much light because I was trying to prevent further stretching. I will start plants with two lights out of the four and go from there depending on how they react. - I should start LST much earlier in the plant's life. I started so late this time that she could barely bend, and I definitely think it affected her growth. - I need to purchase a good magnifier and base my nute schedule on the needs and maturity of the individual plant, rather than following some preset schedule and just reacting as problems arise. - At least every other watering, I should lift the plant out of the bucket and give her a once over so I can catch any future fungi in the early stages. Tl;DR: Fungis are not fun guys.
the end.
