In soil on July 2 with Fox Farm Ocean Forest Mix. Transplanted to 3 gal pots 7/16. Plants are all outdoor on patio in pots with natural sunlight. No nutrients at this time. RQS Diesel Auto did not germinate.
Since these girls were germinated and transplanted while we were living temporarily in our vintage travel trailer, they are now known as The Trailer Park Girls grow. Totally outdoors with lots of cloudy days, wind and sun. Humidity is high so keeping an eye out for any fungus funk!
The girls are pretty small compared to my last 2 autoflowering crops but these are new strains to me so there is a learning curve. This week I noticed some leaf discoloring and a few black bugs dots on the underside of the leaves on Fast and Vast so I applied the organic solution Captain Dead Bug and the girls paid no attention what-so-ever. I am a fan of bending rather than filming for training so we started this also this week. I use a clear garden tape and a loose tie so that I can increase the bend as the plants grow. I have used this technique for 4 other crops and the end result is multiple colas. As you can see all three are in different stages of flowering with Fast and Vast being a bit ahead of Blue Amnesia and last but not least the smallest girl, Sucker Punch. I will begin to add Fox Farm Tiger Bloom in the next couple of weeks. These auto flowering girls seem to dislike a lot of nuits.
In my experience some genetics grow slow and then take off, others go all balls out from the get-go and others creep along. Overall I am happy with these kids at the moment and look forward to where they go from here. Thank you for reading the Old Skool Granny. Remember, my generation paved the way, sometimes with jail time, so that you can enjoy the freedoms you have today. Hat tip to you younger generations for taking the ball and running with it! I never imagined we would have the genetics we have today.
Moved my girls to the greenhouse today for a trial run to see how they do in a more controlled environment. Still only sunshine. Monitoring temp and humidity closely. Temp 80 degrees at the top today. Humidity 65%.
Found what looks to be bud rot on the midget plant, Sucker Punch Auto (see photo). The plant is tiny on Day #58. Perfect but miniature. The Rot is only on one bud which I have removed. The rest of the plant looks perfectly healthy though small. I am wondering if it is a genetic thing or perhaps a bad seed or? I am currently germinating another of the same to see what it will do.
Had to pull the Suck Punch due to continued bud rot. Sad. Continuing on with Blue Amnesia Auto and Fast and Vast Auto. Compared to other auto-grows these are very very small plants. No idea why except genetics. Waiting it out to see if buds still continue to mature. Some amber trichomes noted on both plants but majority of trichomes on both plants are still clear. My dog broke off main cola from 2 Fast 2 Vast and had to harvest. Remaining plant continues to mature.
So 2 fast 2 vast is looking like an alien plant and i am at a loss wondering what it is I am seeing here. Buds? Not like anything I have grown before. The main cola was broken off by my dogs so it is harvested (see pics).
Strange fruit for sure. Ideas would be appreciated.
Harvested the Blue Amnesia and now curing. I'll get back on that.
