Been fighting nute deficiency I think for a couple weeks red rust spots took some pics and twisted leaves. One plant was stunted on one side of plant since it popped with only half a seed leaf. The other got nute lock out bad from me not understanding how different coco was to soil. I think I'm dialed in now and have just set up a small irrigation feed set up with weak nutes and water twice a day with small run off on second feed. 3 rd one is 2 and half weeks behind. But is going strong as it was done right. Lol.

Best way to tell when harvest ready. 2 were planted at same time but experience different major stresses and stunting. They seem to be growing at different sched as flowering is around week behind the other. Does early stress affect auto flower " clock "

Hi @Walleyguy Basically the most reliable and hands on way to guage your plants matureness is to purchase a small handheld jewellers type loupe magnifier that is around the 30x mark. With this you simply look at the buds closely to view the trichome glands. These are the key to what makes us happy and high when we consume our weed. The trichomes should have all turned opaque in colouration with atleast 20% of them progressed to what is referred to as amber in colour. Waiting until then to harvest will ensure you get the best effect possible from all of your hard work growing these lovely ladies's I hope this solves your question and Best of luck mate

Good week. Running out of room. Planted 3rd when I thought one was done. She survived and she snow the strongest. Hope buds start to fatten soon. Lots of bud sites but they're still pretty small.

New tent for 3rd plant arrives. Orange red spots back on shorter plant. Any help appreciated. Thinking calcium def. Ph of run off is 6 - 5.9 which is right for coco.

Slowly adding weight. More spots on leaves still thinking a deficiency as it has slowed since I started adding calmagic. Thinking of starting flush next week but not seeing any amber trichromes yet. 2 nd tent ( plant 3 ) exploded in growth. Slowed a bit but still adding about and inch every couple days

Hey these burned tips and spots in combination with the really dark green leaves are nutrient burn from excess nitrogen. She is reaching the final stage of flowering where you need to cut most of your nitrogen out and give her the ripening nutrients. Looks like she is getting close. Will be a nice harvest

Both my first plants starting flush today. Coco needs less flush so in about a week I chop. Still showing some cal deficiency but #1 is ready for harvest # 2 is getting there so hopefully in a week I'll have one slightly late plant and 1 slighty early plant being harvested. My third plant in separate tent found bottom leaves yellowed with brown batches in between viens. Some green leaves had yellowing between viens. Mg deficiency from salts I think. My auto water system had lost pressure and didn't get any water on one side it seems. New pump then Quick flush ( 2 gallons of water ) and normal feed ( 1 gallon ). Hopefully this clears salts. She is 33 inches now and 3 feet across so I want to keep her healthy.

A day early for the week but trimmed her Bush today. Was more crowded with leaves than I thought on the one plant in the middle of plant. Seen new to me bud sites. Lol. Will add more pics in coming days. Straight water now. About 70 % pistols changed. About 4 or 5 days to harvest I figure. Depending on what happen with deficiency. 3 rd plant having major leave die off on bottom leaves. Black spots about half inch on edges leaves. Not sure wtf is up there. Only on dead leaves though. Will take pics in a couple days on that one. It's been full flushed trimmed bottom leaves and fresh nute mix. Gonna give it a few days and see where she is at.

Took longer than expected may have been harvested early. Time will tell. Lol. Grew great. Lots of dense bugs. Too dense for 2 plants in 1 2x4 tent. Would have benefited from lst or scrog . Upper buds crowded out lower buds and even in had buds incased in surrounding buds. Chewed through nutes. Boosters a must.

No scalTall plant development was better. Shorter one lots of under developed buds despite looking better before cut. It was stunted from start as half plant was not developing properly ( only one seed leaf came out. The other was only half a leaf. If I grew again it would be lst or scrog one 1 plant. In 2 x 4.

I had the wrong name for my genetics. It was fast buds girl scout cookies. I need to give credit where credit due. Harvest on first two plants coming soon.

Some nice frost on those buds. Great work there pal. Should be some lovely smoke. Keep doing what your doing and beat of luck the rest of the way.

@Walleyeguy, best of luck. I bought 2 dec buckets but have been to scared to actually try it now lol. Wish you the best of luck. And I feel your pain with the heat and humidity. Broke a hundred and humidity is constantly up there too. Good luck fighting mother nature.

@Denzul, thanks. Getting nervous with the heat and humid conditions as I approach harvest. But I got things tuned good now for coco. Its quite different than soil. Lol. Might try straight hydro r-dwc for my purple gorilla for my next show.

@Wicked_Stix, agreed. Always a new challenge. I'm gonna do my next grow coco again. But non auto hindu kush or purple gorilla so I can get dialed in before flower. Then I'm gonna make a dyi 2 bucket r-dwc. With reservoir bucket out of tent. So new learning curve.

@Walleyeguy, as soon as the stretch stops I try to start backing off of it. It seems to build up pretty fast after that. There is always a new challenge in this hobby.
Walleyeguy
Walleyeguycommented6 years ago
@Wicked_Stix, 4 N for part a 1 for od 1 cal mag and 2 for b52. So yeah could be too much nitrogen especially if shes not using it. Old cal mag I was using was 4 N I replaced it calmagic as it was less N. It will be final flushed soon. So I'll probably top up with just cal mag water and bud candy next couple days then start flush early next week ( only need a week with coco i hear ). My two plants are running about week and half apart in development for some reason, so I'm trying to get them timed for same harvest date ( using tent to dry ). In about 3 or 4 weeks my 3rd plant will ready which is in separate tent. That one I've been using coco techniques I picked up on first 2. She's a beast. Over 30 inches and vertical growth hasn't stopped yet. Bud sites are popping up everywhere. I dont want same issues for that one so I'll try to dial back the N where possible with that one. Maybe less base nutes more booster. I think big bud coco is 0-4-4. Less b 52 for final weeks. Thanks for the advice.
