Plant had some kind of heatstroke. (Very very hot weather in Europe this summer)
Started giving Green Sensation and Sugar Royal to boost Bud production.
Plant somehow didn't show any budsights, even it's 2 weeks overdue..
This week, I wanted to finish the LST on the Plant and also defoliate a bit.
I removed most of the damaged leafs to widen and even out the canopy and I trained the lady a final time. The plant developed a smell which contains notes of lemon and vanilla. I also started to give PK13/14 (only this weekend).
In conclusion, this week was an absolute win [insert meme here] and I'm looking forward to next weeks progress 😀
This week, the hot weather returned. Not quite as hot as last month, but well over 25°C.
The buds thickened up and the odor of the plant grew stronger. The light vanilla note unfortunately vanished and was somehow replaced by a medium strong skunk flavor. The overall smell is quite delicious though.
I hope the plant manages to regain the vanilla note, but I'm not very optimistic about this.
The plant is very stable and looks healthy, but has some little burnspots on the leafs (because when it rains, some waterdrops penetrate the growtent and damage the leafs).
EDIT:
After careful consideration, I decided to open up the plant a little more to expose as many buds as possible. I also decided to defoliate around 30% of all leafs (especially those which block light to lower buds).
I'm looking forward for next week's progress and keep you updated :)
The hot weather (up to 35°C) this week was (fortunately) interrupted by a cold front, which brought the temperatures to a comfortable 25°C.
Also the plant started produceing trichomes (little frost on the sugar leafs). I think the last LST & Defoliation session really helped the plant to increase bud production.
The odor of the plant started to be noticeable outside the grow tent, but this is no problem because it's not too strong. It has nice notes of lemon and tangerine, a light vanilla note (yes, it returned fortunately :-D ) and a medium skunky flavor.
After a nice chat with a good friend, who is really well-read in this subject, I decided to give one more time PK 13-14. Also my Plagron Alga Bloom stock ended and a good friend gave me an other bloom fertilizer. He told me that the plants he had literally exploded after giving this, so I'm very looking forward for it's influence on the plant.
In conclusion, this weeks progress satisfied me, but I really hoped that the buds thickened a little bit more up.
I also plan to upgrade my watering system. The stuff I ordered should be here next weekend. I think this investment is necessary, because the hot weather is returning and as I said, I'm only at weekends at my place to monitor the plant. :)
My hopes for next week are, that the plant intensifies trichome production and thickens the lovely bud sites. I also hope, that the plant odor gets stronger (but not too strong to be noticeable from the street).
I guess I can harvest the plant in about 2-3 weeks, some lower buds even in 4 weeks.
(If you haven't noticed, english isn't my native language, sorry about that).
This week, the cold and rainy weather unfortunately stayed (~15-20°C during daytime). The plants don't seem to make great progress with this conditions, but their resin production started to ramp up. Her scent grew also stronger, with some fruity flavors (lemon / tangerine). I occasionally defoliate the bigger leafs that block light to lower branches, but i didn't continue with LST, because the plant is opened up nicely.
After looking in some of other grow diaries on this strain, I estimate the harvest will be in two weeks. Some of the lower branches even a week later. Do you think this is too soon? The plant doesn't have as many trichomes as the plant of last year (photoperiod White Widow by Dutch Passion) and the buds need to thicken up more.
After last weekend, I'm afraid to give one more time PK-13/14, as I'm concerned to generate a nutrient lockout which is the last thing (beside pests) I want my plant to have.
Unfortunately, the mail didn't manage to bring the package by time so I have no automatic watering system like I wanted to install this weekend..
But if this weather stays like this, I'll install this system next year because it isn't necessary. But if the sunny, hot weather returns, I have to build it next weekend. I'll keep you updated on this topic.
I peronally hope the hot weather returns to fuel the last 2-3 weeks of flowering 😀
If anyone is interested, I can upload a photo of the white widow from last year (for bud comparison).
I also am planning to purchase a little grow tent (thinking about 60x60x120cm) to cultivate some (not too tall) plants during winter, so don't forget to look by in couple of months 😉
This week my watering system finally arrived (on time for flushing). I also gave my plants fertilizer for a last time and started to flush.
Hot and sunny weather are really pushing the plant to peak preformance.
I hope I can harvest them in 2 weeks :)
Hey there!
Thanks so much for growing our genetics =)
Good luck with your Blue Dream'Matic, let's hope we all survive the heat this summer haha! 🙌🏼
Happy Growing 💚🌱
Hi @Mrohio,
Thank you for your question.
First of all, I train all my plants with this training method, even with high-stress-training (defoliation, topping, etc...).
I've also read online that this strain really loves Low-Stress-Training, which my plant can confirm :D
Hope I could answer your question :)
