Still rolling strong! Growing quickly! Showing purple hues as Genetics describe. Fat healthy looking leaves. Slightly over watered but recovered after correcting issue.
Amazed at how fast this strain is growing. Seems to be growing inches a day vertically and horizontal. Transplanted from 4" pots to 3 gallon this week. One plant in Coco Loco w/ NOFTG nutrient line, one plant in Coco Loco w/ kind soil. Put under QB 18" above canopy.
Flipped light cycle to 12/12 this week. Both plants are looking very happy and healthy! Kind soil plant shows slight yellowing of lower leaves when roots dig into the hot soil but new growth looks great. Everything seems to be going great! Left for Vacation July 4th water/fed both plants before leaving. Returned July 7th and damn both plants grew like 6". Topped plant very bushy just under screen. LST'd plant is several inches over the top. No white hairs yet. Both plants are photos.
Still growing like crazy! Running NOFTG nutrient line on one plant and it is taking it well! Kind soil girl is heading towards the clouds. Kind soil was just LST'd Oregons Only was topped and LST'D. No white hairs yet but getting some smell. Nice fat healthy leaves.
Day 14 since the light flip. Not seeing any white hairs. It was 4 weeks at flip so guessing it's got some more maturing to do. Did some defoliation. It has some big fat 11 finger leaves.
Still not showing pistols. Added one hour of darkness to try and shove into flower. After 1st cycle found couple hairs. Did some defoliation to expose bud sites. Water/fed on 19th. pH steady at 6.7 on kind plant and 6.4 on Coco Loco/NFTG per recommendation. Hoping to see more pistols in coming week. Will run 13/11 light cycle for several more days until a real change is apparent. Then I will ease back to 12/12.
Not much has changed. They are both starting to show some white hairs. Came to the conclusion my problem was light. I was running a QB on one side and a purple on the other. I took both out and replaced them with a DIY build. Running dual qb288 v2 heat sink combo. It looks like a game changer. Hopefully I will have a positive flowering update next week.
My purple reign is finally flowering and making buds. The tops of all the colas all have little buds and lots of white hairs. These things are going to get a lot more LST next round as they got really tall! The kind soil girl is getting PhD water at 6.3 no run off. The NFTG girl is getting more phosphorus and pH water between 6.3-6.8 as per instructions on bottles. Both are looking great. I'm excited to see how they turn out.
Both plants are starting to bud out! Water/fed both plants. I skipped the NFTG line. I'm not impressed with what I'm seeing. So I went with a top dressing of Happy Frog Fertilizer and Happy Frog fruit and flower. I loaded them up with phosphorus and potassium to try and put some weight on them!
Well into flower on the Purple Reign sisters. Showing 2 phenos in this grow. Both stand equal in height, one is very Purple through her stalk and leaves. The other just has some Purple streaking. The less Purple plant is stacking more than the other but both are stacking nicely. Definitely living up to there description as heavy yielders. The better of the 2 was cloned for my own breeding project. Creating a new Strain to be disclosed at a later time.
These girls are really filling out now. The buds are getting big and super sticky. There frosty like the snowman. There starting to put off a earthy, kinda sweet aroma. White hairs are beginning to turn red. They both have some nice long colas packed with buds top to bottom.
Purple Reign Sisters are looking Amazing! Have some big ole dense, stinky and sticky purple buds. Buds run the full length of the colas and there fattening up every day. Almost the circumference of a water bottle. I'm pretty excited to see how these end up. Next couple weeks should be interesting. Still just watering with pH 6.5-6.8 and top dressing with Happy Frog Fertilizers.
Both plants are starting to swell. Had to tie several branches on both plants up Tonight, they were leaning way over! Brewed a compost tea to give girls a little pick me up. Buds on one plant are almost completely Purple now, the buds on the other are green but it's leaves are turning Purple. Very interesting watching them get closer to the finish line. Getting a very strong sweet but earthy aroma from them at this point, super excited to see how they finish. Looking at couple pounds!
Still swelling up! Both have some Purple but one is almost completely Purple. Buds are super dense and super sticky. Have sort of a fruity pebbles thing going on. Both plants seemed to have enjoyed the compost tea. Stopping anymore top dressing and just giving water as we near finish line. Looking to shape up to a pretty big harvest!
Just gonna go ahead and apologize for picture quality this week. Buds are so heavy the plants are all tied up in the tent. Making taking them out for pics a pain in the a**. They most likely got there last water last night. Thinking I'm going to put them in the dark this Thursday and chop em down Saturday night. Nugs are super dense, super sticky and so so stinky. I can't wait to roll some of this up. I'm guessing the yield on these 2 girls is gonna be pushing a half pound or so dry. Neither one have got any nutrients in last couple weeks, both got a compost tea last week but started flush. With organic dry amendments there's no water flush required, just simply stop feeding few weeks before harvest.
This grow I feel took a bit longer than it should have. Had I started with the right light I think I would have started flower when I actually switched there cycle. But overall I am more than happy with the harvest. I got a pound wet weight of course off each plant. I cloned the purple one while in veg and am almost ready to flower her. Keeping in the garden and will mother a breeding program. Will update with dry weight.
Harvest update on dry weight. I was about 7 grams shy of 9 oz from two plants. I was hoping for a half pound and I got almost an oz more so im very satisfied. This strain smells amazing. Like bubblegum or fruity pebbles. Very sweet aroma and flavor. Can't wait to see how it cures. I had two pheno types, one a deep purple and one green with some Purple hues mostly in stems. The Purple bud smells a little bit sweeter than the Green but the green was much more dense. I cloned the purple plant awhile back with intentions of breeding her and having a mother plant. Growing her wasn't to difficult, color and smell are wonderful. I'm giving Purple Reign a 10 I am definitely keeping it in the garden. That will end this chapter. Off to start another!
