Visited the site today and everything is going very well :) the weather has been near on perfect for them but a tiny bit of rain would be nice. This is the first week of flowering for the girls and I've decided to start a journal from now....please sub and stay tuned...lots more content to come👍🌱
Week 6 has begun very well,they received a light PK boost last week and have responded very nicely. Their boost has been upped this week to 1.5ml per 1.5l of water,and I've no doubt they will absolutely love it. The last couple of days since the visit it has rained quite alot and this is the first time it has since being transferred to the plot,so hopefully this will boost them up very nicely :) I'm going to be introducing bud blood to their feed on the next visit which I'm hoping I can leave for 6 days or so....also I've tied all the girls down now to get them bottom shoots some light so should be looking beastly when I go back :) the weather forcast after this rain is hot hot hot so come on the girls show us what you got💪🤣🤣 GorillaKen out✌️🤜🤛
Week 3 for these girls has started well. They responded nicely to being tied down and has started lots of new growth from the bottom nodes. Fed them a full feed of bud blood 2 days ago and they have reacted spot on to it. Visited them today for a feed of water as its 36c here and I'm hoping they all do ok. No reason why they shouldn't be because as you can see these genetics are spot....from day 1 I cant fault these plants so far and I'm very impressed how resilient they are in this climate. The feed will be up'd on the next visit but we are forcast rain in the next couple of days so fingers crossed. Cant wait now until all of these beauties are stacking some frosty nugs and I can get some good pictures. GorillaKen out💪🌲👌
Day 51 week 4 of flowering....its all looking very good for all the girls in the garden and especially the crystal candy,the 5 of them are well in to flower now and are starting to stack the weight on well...cant believe how quick they've moved in the last 6 days...they endured 2 days of rain and quite high winds absolutely fine....a true testament to their strong genetics....as you can see we already have the first signs of maturity with some amber tips on some of the pistils...if they carry on at this rate then theres no reason why these wont be ready to chop in 15-20 days!I'd be very impressed if that was the case...fingers crossed🤞 GorillaKen out👊🌲💪
Day 58 week 5 of flowering for the crystal candy has been a great success...the weather has battered these girls in the last few days and they've laughed it off and progressed very well. I was worried about how much rain they've had but they've loved every minute of it. As you can see we've got abit of yellowing in afew fan leaves but I'm putting this down to them nearing the end and using what they need from the leaves to fatting them nugs up! Today they were all fed just water,given a trim up of dead leaves (about 10 between all plants)and a foliar spray to prevent and bud rot and other disease and pests 100% organic of course. I want this smoke to be as clean as possible so I'm going to flush solid for the last few weeks,most people say 2 but I say 3 to 4 for outside girls just to get that clean clean smoke!:) As we can see crystal candy is definitely living up to its name with absolute aplomb....the trichome production on these girls is constantly moving and the smell is really starting to get pungent and strong of candy with hints of bubblegum....can't wait to smoke this beautiful cannabis and relieve my stress!😁 🌲GorillaKen out🌲
Day 65 week 6 of flowering for the crystal candy has ended well and they look like they're ready for the chop....at least afew of them are anyway.... the foliar spray I used has worked wonders and we dont appear to have one spec of mold or any other disease ....I'll be cutting down the yellowed ones in the next 2 days and they'll be on the cure....so keep an eye on this space for the harvest and smoke report coming soon.👌🌲GorillaKen out🌲
So we have come to harvest time for the crystal candy and everything has gone to plan.....I harvested 3 of the 5 10 days ago now and they've been drying and curing at a nice steady pace....with an average of a zed a plant(dry) I'm more than happy with the outcome. The buds are absolutely coated in thc and are sticky to touch with a decent densitity to them. The smoke its self has a sweet hint of candy combined with the flavour of thc,and after 10 days of curing I'm very impressed with the flavour and it's only going to get better in the glass jars. This plant was a pleasure to grow outside with great disease and pests resistance and I'll definitely consider doing more of these girls next season.
The affects of the smoke are a very cerebral high with couch clock creeping up on you. After 2 spliffs I felt like I couldnt get up and my legs didnt want to work and that was just after I cut them and put them into jars so I can only imagine the effects are going to get stronger the longer i cure for. I'm aiming to cure in the jars for 4 weeks before i start smoking it so cant wait to taste it then. It's a thumbs up from me for the crystal candy strain and I would recommend anyone to try it. Crystal candy by sweet seeds is definitely one for the new grower joining the community,easy to grow and great resistance against diseases and pests make this one a definite for inexperienced growers. The results at the end is what everyone wants when growing there own smoke, and especially outdoors where watering everyday isnt possible. Using grow diaries to track my grow has been spot on,being able to see the progress each week has made growing an even more enjoyable experience and being able to look back at my work makes it even more rewarding. Thanks to grow diaries and the community for all the support with my first diary,I will definitely being doing more in the near future.
