When growing auto flowering plants how do you decided when and which leaves to defoliate since it grows so quickly and you want to get the most volume out of your plants?

@Regulator It's generally not a good idea to stress autos in any way whatsoever as it will slow down the growth thus reducing yields. The only defoliation I would recommend is in the 2nd week of flowering you can remove some of the larger fan leaves to let more air and light in and around the growing buds. Other more experienced growers may tell you to top your plants but they are experienced at this and I would advise you to atleast grow one or two plants normally before attempting this so you can get a feel for what the plants require from day to day. Once you have completed a harvest or two by all means experiment with more advanced techniques like mainlining etc Hope this answers your question and happy growing mate

What nutrients do you use to get the best root growth during vegetation? Do you continue with the same nutrients during flowering or do you change? What brand have you found to work best?

There's no real wrong answer here , lot's of companies offer a wide variety of root boosting agents . Personally I like Advanced Nutrients Voodoo Juice and Piranha . These 2 products used in combination allow for multiple benefits to your plants but the main one is root boosting . Study's have shown that these 2 used in combination in the first 4 weeks of your plants life will boost your root production by nearly 800% with some other great benefits as well , but just the root boosting abilities alone make the products worth it . You don't have to use them in combination to get great results either . One or the other will do just fine or if you can use both then I highly suggest doing that . First 4 weeks of your plants life then first 2 weeks of flower and you will see quite the difference , your root mass will be quite robust and what I like to call muscle-y haha . These are just some of the products out on the market that will do what your looking for . There are tons and tons and tons on the market so do your research before you buy one this way you know what your getting. Remember that bigger the root bigger the fruit in our case flowers :D . I hope this information serves you well on your quest for knowledge ! Happy Growing !

@DILLIGAF, thanks man that’s a big help. First time growing autos so I wasn’t sure how they differed. Lots of new techniques out there since the last time I was growing

Don't even worry about defoliation. You're giving that seedling 1000x more light than it wants, and 100% chance you'll overwater it in that huge pot (should still be in the starter plug only). That's what you need to worry about.

Hey there , hope I answered your question , the main idea is to make sure you don't shock your plants and stunt them , anything else you need just drop me a message 👊🏻

@Cannibalgardens, I don’t have my full grow tent and system set up yet for indoor and it’s been perfect outdoors during the day. But it’s been in the mid fifties at night and the days are a bit shorter than ideal.
