DAY 6
Both Fantasmo Express seeds have popped (right of pic). They're later than the Chemdogging seeds (top four in pic) but they seem to be coming through.
DAY 7
Although behind compared to other seedlings in this grow (see Chemdogging and Sour Livers diaries), they seem OK.
DAY 9
Moved into RDWC buckets
**** END OF PROPAGATION PHASE ****
DAY 1
I am counting veg stage from the day the plants entered the RDWC system.
The summer weather means I cannot use all 4 of the 240W LED grow lights. The plan is to have 2 on at a time (diagonally across the tent, swapping sides every day) but to run them 24/24.
DAY 5
Just about managing temperatures - 24C nutrient and 27C air. I can chill nutrient lower but that increases the temperature of the room containing the tent! Plants are happy and seem OK with 24 hour light.
DAY 7
Very hot weather has passed and temperatures are in the zone. The two Fantasmo Express plants are looking healthy although noticeably shorter than the other two strains
Changed lighting pairs (2 x 240W) to swap every 12 hours instead of every 24 hours.
Day 8
Am trying all four lights (4 x 240W) on a 20/4 schedule but may have to go back to 2 x 240W depending on temperatures. With all four lights on, the temperature is 27/28C and in the four hour dark period it is 24C.
Day 9
Both Fantasmo Express plants are doing nicely, very short but doing nicely!
Day 11
Doing great.
Day 12
Have added Hydroguard to my nutrient mix after hearing good things on the Autoflower Network.
Day 14
Not much to do except monitor temperature, pH and CF. Plants are very healthy.
Day 15
Both Fantasmo Express girls are doing great.
Day 16
Reduced lamp to plant distance to 70cm - maybe could have done this earlier but forgot!
Day 17
Increased EC to 1.0 from 0.8. Plants seem to have responded well to lowering the lights.
Day 19
These two girls have a very different, more open structure than the Chemdogging beasts. No need for either defoliation or LST yet. FE1 is over fertilised and is clawing a bit. Not much I can do while all the other plants in the RDWC system are fine with the EC level. This is one of the disadvantages of RDWC - you can't tailor nutrient strength on a plant-by-plant basis.
Day 21
End of week 3 and no issues so far which is a first for me. I am putting this down to incorporating a few additives in addition to just base nutrients as used in my previous 2 DWC grows. FE1 is more open structured than FE2 and is also in the most advanced stage of flower of any plant in the tent.
Day 22
Dropped nutrient temperature from 23C to 21C. For some reason the root mass on this grow is noticeably lower than previous grow. Plants above ground look healthier and the same size as previous grow so I am a bit puzzled.
Day 23
FE1 is least happy plant in the tent. She is clawing and has entered flower much earlier than the other plants. FE2 needs minimal defoliation on account of her open structure and a little LST to evenly space the branches.
Day 25
FE1 is flowering a lot now - started early as a result of environmental stress (too much N)
Day 29
Started move to HydroBloom feed and added Sumo Active Boost @ 1ml/l. Top stem of FE1 broke during HST (she was too close to light) and has been taped. I might lose the main cola but sometimes these plants recover from pretty dire situations and half the stem is intact.
Day 30
HST used to keep height level with Chemdogging tent-mates. The plant I snapped yesterday is fine but still taped up.
Day 34
No more HST - just letting the Fantasmo Express girls do their thing now...
Day 42
Added Shogun P/K warrior @ 0.5ml/l
Fantasmo plants are flowering nicely and because of their open structure, have needed very little defoliation.
Day 49
Defoliated after leaving plants unattended for 3 days (an advantage of RDWC grows) and the whole tent is filling with future colas. Really happy!👌👌
Day 57
I've had a few sample buds off these girls and they are very full-on sativa type effect. Just the ticket. However, they have been crowded-out by the chemdogging beasts and this is shows another disadvantage to doing multi-strain grows in a RDWC set-up. My next grow is going to be 100% same strain in the tent. Ripley's OG. 👌
