DAY 0
Waiting to sprout...
DAY 3
2 have broken through.
DAY 4
The 2 early plants are looking good and there are signs that the others are not far behind.
DAY 6
All four Chemdogging seedlings are out and healthy (top row in pic).
DAY 7
Seedlings moved into RDWC system with 2 x 240W LED lighting.
**** END OF PROPAGATION PHASE ****
DAY 1
I am counting veg stage from the day the plants entered the RDWC system.
The summer weather means I cannot use all 4 of the 240W LED grow lights. The plan is to have 2 on at a time (diagonally across the tent, swapping sides every day) but to run them 24/24.
DAY 5
Just about managing temperatures - 24C nutrient and 27C air. I can chill nutrient lower but that increases the temperature of the room containing the tent! Plants are happy and seem OK with 24 hour light.
DAY 7
Really hot weather has passed. New Chemdogging plant added to replace the dud Sour Livers seedling. Roots starting to show through pot walls.
Changed lighting pairs (2 x 240W) to swap every 12 hours instead of every 24 hours.
Day 8
All plants showing roots through net pots.
Am trying all four lights (4 x 240W) on a 20/4 schedule but may have to go back to 2 x 240W depending on temperatures. With all four lights on, the temperature is 27/28C and in the four hour dark period it is 24C.
Day 9
Have had to introduce another Chemdogging to replace yet another dud Sour Livers seedling. The replacement plant (CD6) had to be fished of my kitchen bin! I had not anticipated another Sour Livers going tits-up and had chucked my last spare plant. After 48 hours in my bin the little Chemdogging seedling was by some miracle intact but very sad looking. She is now in the bottom left pot in the RDWC system and doing OK. Not happy about the batch of Sour Livers seeds I received from Mephisto but that is for the Sour Livers diary. So I now have 6 Chemdogging plants in the grow.
Day 11
All original Chemdogging plants doing great. Last minute replacement (plant 6) is way behind but considering she was saved from the bin, is OK.
Day 12
Have added Hydroguard to my nutrient mix after hearing good things on the Autoflower Network.
Day 14
Plants doing their thing - I just monitor temperature, PH and CF at this stage. The late addition (CD6) is struggling to catch-up & I'm not sure she ever will.
Day 15
All 6 Chemdogging doing well (CD6 is quite a bit behind still) and will be doing some LST later in the week.
Day 16
Reduced lamp to plant distance to 70cm - maybe could have done this earlier but forgot!
Day 17
Increased EC to 1.0 from 0.8. Plants seem to have responded well to lowering the lights. Decided to experimentally defoliate CD4 - earlier than usual but she is growing amazingly vigorously and I think can take it.
Day 18
Defoliated plant CD4 is looking completely unfazed by the haircut! I think she almost enjoyed it. Applied some LST to CD4
Day 19
Applied LST to CD2 & CD3 - CD1 is going to be left completely natural - no defoliation in veg and no LST
Day 21
End of week 3 and no issues so far which is a first for me. I am putting this down to incorporating a few additives in addition to just base nutrients as used in my previous 2 DWC grows. Not much difference between the defoliated and non-defoliated plants.
Day 22
Dropped nutrient temperature from 23C to 21C. For some reason the root mass on this grow is noticeably lower than previous grow. Plants above ground look healthier and the same size as previous grow so I am a bit puzzled.
Day 23
Plants were pruned of low potential branches and given more defoliation. Then LST to get remaining branches evenly spaced ready for flowering.
Day 25
Plants have filled out after pruning and defoliation on day 23 and most branches are nice and evenly spaced.
Day 29
Started moving over to Shogun HydroBloom and added Sumo Active boost @ 1ml/l. The plant that was not defoliated (CD1) is looking slightly healthier than the others so maybe taking leaves off during veg stage is a bad move. The difference is small but CD1 is a bit larger and deeper green.
Day 30
The colour of the plants is telling me they can handle increased nutrient strength so I am aiming for EC 1.2
First flower defoliation today
Day 34
EC is now 1.4 - slightly higher than I was aiming for but the girls are not complaining! I have had nutrient problem symptoms so far which is a first for me. I defoliate a few leaves here and there every day and continue to prune weak branches as I find find them.
Day 36
Defoliated again & I think they can take more feed but I will wait 24 hours until the stress of defoliation has passed.
Day 37
The girls recovered overnight from the defoliation and I have upped the nutes to EC 1.7 which was a bit more than I planned but I think they can handle it now that flower formation is really ramping up. I've noticed the water level in my external reservoir dropping quicker as flowering progresses.
Day 38
Defoliated CD6, the latecomer to the RDWC system (bottom left plant). She was thrown away at the beginning of the grow but was recovered from my kitchen bin when a Sour Livers seedling went tits-up and is now about a week behind the other Chemdogging plants.
Day 39
Really getting buzzed about this grow - budsites everywhere, plenty of light penetration and no feed issues. CD6 has recovered from her trim yesterday.
Day 42
Added Shogun P/K Warrior to mix @ 0.5ml/l
At his stage I am not doing major defoliation but take a "little and often" approach - removing a few leaves as often as every 24 hours.
CD1 - the only plant NOT to be defoliated in veg is flowering harder and generally looking better than the rest.
Day 49
Looking really nice, The tent is becoming a sea of colas. 👌👌💪
Day 51
Filling out nicely 👌👌
Day 52
The CD6 plant has grown taller than the rest but is behind with flowering.
The humidity is high - ranging from 55% to 70% when the lights go off. I have a dehumidifier running in the tent but it doesn't seem to put much of a dent in the RH.
Day 57
The youngest plant - which has always seemed behind, and was originally saved from my kitchen bin as a seedling, has grown way bigger than the other Chemdogging girls. Weird but also cool.
Day 60
Everything is cool in the garden. Fattening nicely.
Day 65
Lots of colas ripening now and the CD6 plant is a week or two behind but much taller than the others.
Day 67
CD6 is almost twice the height of her older sisters!! Loads of ripening bud to be seen - nice.
Day 70
Some of the plants are coming down tomorrow. There has been a tiny bit of rot and I want to start harvesting. Plus, they are ready!!
@mr_h_kovert, Cheers Harry 👍 Defoliation is slowing down now but you're right it's not easy!! I basically can't get into the tent anymore so I have to lean in as far as I can without falling onto the plants and pluck leaves wherever possible.
@@ShotGunBob, Thanks for that my friend 😀 - I'm pretty chuffed with this grow so far. My 3rd in RDWC and no deficiency symptoms. Fingers crossed for a big yield.
