My buds dry up really quick on the outside to a crisp when drying and the stem is still bendable… I have no fan on them and they are in a cabinet when drying. I think I am losing a lot from this, how do I prevent this?

This is because u need to control the environment which your buds dry in. Optimal environment is 70 degrees and 50% humidity. Any thing under 70/ or humidity higher than 50% you run the chance of mold. Anything above 70/or humidity lower than 50% you'll buds will dry fast. If you can't control environment you can do a dry trim. Which you leave the sugar leaves on that way they protect the buds for drying to fast. Just cut off fan leaves.

Hi @Jcannaf! Sorry to hear this... Your cabinet has probably not the best conditions for the drying process (environmental stances must be: RH 50~65% and temp 18°C/65°F). You will be able to re-hydrate your buds by putting citrus peel / lettuce / bread / or moisture packs (boveda) during the first weeks of the curing process. Next time consider testing your drying environment before the harvest and adjust conditions if necessary. Hope this will help, let me know in the comments section if you need any further information. Happy growing! 👊

It looks nice, but if you were to flush it properly, you would have so much more sugar on them buds. Please try next time, you'll be surprised. Cheers & thanx for nice pics!

@newAgeGrowMan, will do, the other issue I am running into is the outsides of my buds crisp up and my stems are still bendable when drying I don’t have a fan or anything on them And I feel like I am losing a lot from this too need a better way to dry

not sure how that would work with fabric pots, does the water drain out easy? also your ppm should be up at around 300-350. do you use tap water?
Jcannaf
Jcannafcommented5 years ago
@SHAMMYDOG, yes my ppm is 330 ph of 6, it drains well out the bottom of the pot I think I was underwatering

jcannaf... are you growing in coco??? if so you should water everyday till you see run off, at least a qt of nutes. you can not over water with coco. she looks a bit small for 4 weeks . good luck.

Just think of coco as a hydroponic setup. Coco holds a ton of O2 where growing in soil will just drown your plants. good luck.
