MarijuanaMali Kinda grouping the first three weeks together as group one. I don't like to include initial germination and cotyledon growth of the seedling as week one of veg because the plant is in its firstborn stages and can't really take any nutes yet.
At this point I don't even bother PH adjusting the water, just a few drops of super thrive for the over night soaking of the seeds and then plain water once the seeds have popped and then are transferred into jiffy pellets. Some guys don't use jiffy pellets for fear of the netting holding back the roots when the netting actually causes root strengthening right off the bat.
So anyhow, I like to place the jiffy pellets (with seed) into cardboard egg cartons and then place the whole unit on a plate for the duration of seedling growth.
The plate will hold water and the card board egg carton will help keep the pellets and roots moist.
Once the roots have grown out the bottom of the pellet it will then be time to transfer to cup and soil or final growth pot depending on available space in the grow room.
As you can see in the pictures, I have the seedlings in a home made incubator due to no extra room in the tent.

MarijuanaMali Ok! Now we are getting into actual veg growth with the first and second nodes showing their little faces... No nutes yet but now a Ph of 6.3 is getting important. Soil is being kept moist and foliar spray is applied once in the morning and once at night.

MarijuanaMali Alright! Finally the first week of nutes! The girls really started to wake up and are diggin the swap from 24 hrs to 18/6. Also I took them off of their 300w incubation light and put a 450w on them in the VEG selection...
Roots are really starting to show themselves in the cups. ( if you choose the cup method I recommend using recycled Starbucks cups because they aren't nice and sturdy, see through for root inspection, and recycling is just good for the environment!)

MarijuanaMali Ok, getting caught up... I have been lazy with this journal and ended up starting it at week five veg (week 8 actual) but we now know how I count my time- week 1 is first nutes) but anyhow.......
The girls are looking great. They moved into full veg and did so with ease using the 450 on veg only. So now they are back under the full spectrum and ready for another four weeks growth before we swap them to the flower tent.

MarijuanaMali Starting to get a little humid outside and not much I do about it. The Plants will adapt and will be stronger for it.
They have been transplanted to their final pots now (which I like do to at seed normally but didn't have the room right away this time). Oh! And you could definitely tell it was time for transplant as seen in the picture of the clear cup and roots
Final pots are seven gallon which seem to work great with indoor soil and I have found them to be pretty affordable on Amazon, 11.99 for six.

MarijuanaMali I absolutely love how aggressive these plants are. Sour Diesel basically grows itself so don't be scared if it's your first time. You could really grow these without any nutes and they would still produce, but we are going for weight on this one so nutes it is.

MarijuanaMali Growth is still gaining everyweek, almost doubling the week prior. Girls got a trim this week and some clones got new life. Plants are very hardy so I'm expecting great things with the clones. Nothing fancy, just cups of ph'd water and a drop of Roots in each. The strong ones will survive and make excellent specimens. Getting excited! Flower coming very soon now...
Wonderful choice as far as strain goes.Sour D is one of my favs.I've never grown Crop Kings Sour Diesel but I'm currently growing their new Sour Jack strain & i'm definitely interested in seeing how your grow turns out.
Good Luck with your grow. They look happy from the pictures. We move our SD girl to flower this weekend provided we dodge this hurricane. I'm going to follow your girls to see how they finish. 👍🏿
@MarijuanaMali, your moving your too? Awesome! I always enjoy comparing results and always looking for some little something that might take our grow to the next level.
@GreenDiamond, that's awesome!!! Good luck with her. I will be moving these five to flower in the next week. Just getting caught up on the journal at this point. They have already been topped and trimmed and ready for the big tent!
