Grow Questions

PhatMonkeyGrowstarted grow question 4 years ago
Well i have a dilemma, all 3 plants are in the same system, but plant 1 is showing sings of being ready. Not sure if i should let it go longer.. but i dont think i will be able to flush it.. i was thinking about doing a 3 days flush.. then harvesting the 1 plant and uping the Nutes again.. any ideas would be great

Yes I would do a no flush on her and the rest flush when ready. That way you can test for yourself if you like a flush. But a proper dry/cure will give a great taste no matter if flushed or not. I personally think that plant has a week or 2 before ready need to verify by trichome method.

As you can see in some of the Photo's both Plants are showing Signs of color (purples) - shes mature.. check trichomes under a microscope and on plant on right, there are a shit tone of AMber trichomes, and about 1/2 and 1/2 cloudy and clear trichomes .. there is there odd stick to the right plant also.. i kinda see it as a aniseed sort of smell.. i dont really like it.. but than after a while its also fruity.. very odd pheno... plants are at 6 days flush.. and well i will cut just b4 light on tomorrow morning, as i need to move on and happy with how they are atm, i think any longer and will be worse quality .. for being under shitty cheap lights for 99.9% of the grow i am happy with how they turned out, next grow is going to be a cracker if i can put what i have learnt into practice.

So, After seeing some (like tiny bit) of mold i cut the more mature.. others dont show any signs, but am watching closely.. sorry no picks of the harvest from plant 1, (camera changer dead.. new one on way) but i will update when dry, deff Blue cheese strain, that smell is undeniable.. having to dry in cupboard with no carbon filter .. its a bit on the stinky side right now.. have house inspection in a week... haha hoping to be Jar'ed and aired out somewhat b4 then. ones in tent should be fine.. its sort of stealthy (made it look like a portable cloths storage). i am thinking plant 1 will yield around 1.3-5oz dried which to be honest is great, as others are looking at being even bigger. i have tested smoke from a warm-air dryed and 48hour cure cycle .. and was very very nice.. no real diff in taste or high.. if anything the high was too strong.. i had to watch myself or risk ending up in a dazy starring at my PC screen, taste was very strong and left my mouth watering, no headache like some quick dried no/cure, i felt like i was smoking chronic organic like from what the seed came from (came from very very nice bag of weed) so can only imagine a good 1-2 month cure should be spot on...

So from this grow so far i've learnt .. next grow will be 1 plant per System, (i will be getting a 2nd platinum) 2 plants in tent... (maybe try auto if i can get some seeds) - and i will have 2x 120w LM301H 3500K + R-SPEC (1 per plant) and would be a bit better.. got too crowded, the genetics looked like it could of yielded much much more with more space + watts πŸ˜€

Hi mate please tell me to bugger off, I myself am learning with every grow but I wanted to say with hydroponics ph of 5.8 is the best 6.3 is too high and your plants will miss loads of nutrients. Please understand I say this as advice, paying it forward as they say and I hope it helps you for further grows bro.

@@@PhatMonkeyGrow, np mate it’s one of the problems with hydroponics pitherine kills the root zone if you can keep the water at 19 to 20c you prevent pitherine since it hits with temps above 21c. Summer months are a bitch.

@RastaMouse, oh ok this is good to know i mite have to check my water isnt getting to hot or something. cheers!!

@@PhatMonkeyGrow, I had the same problem ph drop is normally a sign of root zone problems I added a water cooler to my setup and all is much better now.

@@PhatMonkeyGrow, the viparspectra is fine for a small grow 1 plant or 2 autos but if I could choose a light it would be one of the horticulture lighting group quantum boards they seem to be kickin arse

@DILLIGAF, yeh its very odd.. but it had a hard start (was way too cold and waterlogged) the others look very nice prob the most indica heavy strain i've seen (i have grown 2 other times about 20years ago) the smoke the seed came from was very nice, deff blue cheese, but i am unsure about genitics(auto etc). i cant wait for these babys to be ready, enjoying the growing process, its a great hobby, I have been looking at your grows last few days, Hows the 450w LED going? was looking into Viparspectra, but went a cheaper option (dual chip LED cheap LED 600w/110W actual draw), but honestly its looking like its doing the job, not too much stretching, adding another LED of same Wattage for flowering. so cold where i am so making sure tent is good temp is an issue will look into temp/humidity control on future grows. thanks for checking out my grow! will keep it updated.

Looking Good mate I know what you mean about small res probs I'm only using 10 litre buckets and if I let them get too low the ph jumps up too high so gotta keep topping off every day

One of my lights crapped itself today.. so i am down to 110w (actual draw) - shame. but i cant get upgraded lights for about another month .. so will have to just see how it goes.

@@PhatMonkeyGrow, dude just jump on alibaba get the kingbright qbs, same quality half the price. Thats what ive been using last few grows the only thing i noticed was that the buds were longer and thinner still dense but just not as thick.
PhatMonkeyGrow
PhatMonkeyGrowweek 19
I should note i pulled a plant early on and final dry weight on that was 1.4Oz, so about 5+ oz from 3 plants all up not bad for a 90cmx50cm tent .
