Several of the seedlings died, in hindsight from not being buried deep enough and rotting under their shell. The most vigous one was potted. Very first grow, so when I flip to flower I'll try germinating four different strains at once. Stay tuned, I'm enjoying journaling and will only get better.
I thought I had flipped them, but in messing with the timer I accidentally set it to 24 hours on for three days. I can't tell if it helped or hurt. progress was delayed, it was actually flipped on 9/26/2017. I've had a small pump recirculating water from a five gallon glass jug, insulated from light whenever I leave for short vacations. (four or five days every two weeks) I find when the water drains much slower it really makes the roots grow to seek them out. I've never had less than an inch of water in the bucket, tho.
She's been heavily defoliated (drooping, burnt, dark green, upside down, shiny) the last two weeks, this week alone took off enough leaves to fill a Kraft Mac and cheese box and lots of high stress bending to keep the branches flat and wide to fill the space. Wanted stretch when she was growing and kept the light higher. Growing in nice and level.
She's bright green every morning from new growth overnight. Been keeping the air much more humid and it seems to be helping. Still trimming it regularly to remove lower leaves.
Tons of stretch, glad I have led bc they've touched the light multiple times now. Loads of pistils at the top nodes, first time grow so I don't recognize bud growth but very well could be. Made a note to myself to trim only when it's out of the closet, I definitely over trimmed. Glad she's springing back well. I've already learned so much, and it's become borderline obsessive. Cannabis is certainly the gateway drug to gardening.
I haven't changed the reservoir in a while, both a phosphorous deficiency and possible cal mag deficiency popped up midweek, six ml of both cleared up within the day. The phosphorous deficiency left a few purple leaves, only in the center where it receives the most light. I'm very surprised that you still can only smell it with your nose touching the buds. That means it could be great for stealth, but might change in the coming weeks. Smells super fresh and piney, fingers get extremely sticky very quickly messing with her. I'm so proud of this for my very first grow, and I've started living and breathing horticulture knowledge. I've learned a bunch so far and have high hopes to be yielding 1.6 grams per watt within the year. Looking into making water cooled cobs for my next build once I have spare money.
Foxtails can lead to more trim but in turn you can get more trichomes out of that trim when you make hash. My favorite way is dry ice with 90 micron bubble bag 👍🏼
