Here we are back for another grow , as a matter a fact I'm now on Grow# 6 this time I'm going for a much bigger yield. I decided to go with the 4 AK-49 Autos from vision seeds, due to potency, it's easy to grow and doesn't take more than 90 days. I also got quite a few freebies so I decided also to feature two feminized Girl Scout Cookies, which will be my first time growing a photo-period plant. I'll continue with defoliation as a technique but will also be using LST to see if can increase our overall yield. I initially planned on letting the autos finish and then switch the photos into flower but depending on how big they get that may change.
All six seeds went into glasses with water at a p.h of 6, they were then left to soak for 24 hours, after 18 hours I did check on them to make sure they had all floated to the bottom if they didn't I gave them a little tap and they went right down. Once the 24 hours was up they were placed into damp paper towels placed inside of two glass plates to finish the germination process. In about a day and a half all seeds had tap roots showing that were at least an half inch so at this time they went into the soil. It all the seedlings about 3 days to reach the top of the soil, but I've learned not to officially start counting days until the first set of true leaves are quite visible.
On July 22nd I started officially counting days, at this point I'm just misting the top-soil maybe twice a day depending on the temperature to help keep the humidity high I try to aim for around 60% RH at this stage of life. On July 27th (Day 6) the seedlings were given their first watering. They were all given 250 ml of water with a ph of 6. I normally like to give them their first watering on Day 4 , but I got very busy and got two days behind.
Well that's going to be all for this week remember Happy Growing and Enhance Your Life !!!
Here we are on Week 2 of this grow and it's been a long and hot week, and I think the ladies are suffering from it. Temps have actually reached 84-86 F which is way too high for getting optimal growth during this stage of life. With it being so hot in the tent the ladies where dying of thirst by Day 8 so they where all given 250 ML of water with a ph of 6, I also adjusted the lights to be a little higher to make they weren't getting stressed by the light either. On Day 11 they received the same watering and then on Day 14 they received their first feeding ! Each plant was given 250 ML of water with 2 ML of Cal-Mag and Micro and 4 ML of Bloom water had a ph of 6.0. I looked back at my previous grow of AK-49 and can certainly tell that the plants this time are smaller still don't know if it's genetics or if it's due to how many plants I put inside the tent this time, only time will tell. I am however liking how the photo period plants are growing especially since this is my time growing something other than an auto but that's all for this week, Remember Happy Growing and Enhance your life !!!!
On Day 15 we checked on the ladies and seemed to respond very well to their first feeding of nutrients. When I to check on the on Day 16 the ladies seemed thirsty so they where given 250 ml of water with a 6.0 ph along with a misting, the plants then received another feeding on Day 18 but this time we went up on the nutrients slightly, I then again watered them on Day 20 and they were given the normal 250 ml of water with a 6.0 ph along with a misting. I did notice that the AK-49 strain is a lot smaller than the last time I grew it at this stage of life. Which I thought was weird so I started seeing what was different. I've come to the conclusion that it's how many plants are in the grow space using the light, meaning I need more light for this many plants. I also think that AK-49 #1 & #4 could have been overwatered which goes to show that every plant no matter the strain can have different needs. So I'll be letting them dry out and show signs that they need by being slightly droopy. Well till next time folks Happy growing and Enhance Your Life ......
Here we are for week 4 of this grow and things are finally starting to kick to off. I initially started LST on all the ladies this week but after 48 hours I changed my mind and only kept GSC # 1 in training, I personally feel autos grow better when they are just left alone to do their thing. Another thing that I've noticed this week an inconsistency in genetics, I have two short autos and two beast autos especially for 4 weeks old and then with the GSC one is kind of thin-looking and the other is nice and bushy. I also slowed down on watering them now it's when they begin to look droopy and the pots are light along with checking the top 2-inches of soil. Humidity has been low but that's because I've been lazy and haven't put the humidifier to use like I was. Other than cleaning the tent and ridding the plants of dying leaves that are at the bottom and aren't getting much light, it's been a cool week. Well till next time fellow growers, Happy growing and Enhance your life!
Here we are to report another awesome week for this grow. With there being two photoperiod plants in this grow I decided to go ahead and flip the lights to 12/12 so the two photos can start to flower before they get too big for my grow space. Doing this also sent all four autoflowers into flower too, so now the fun part begins. As you can see from the pictures Girl Scout Cookies #1 really responded well to the LST and is showing multiple tops, I mean it isn't perfect but it definitely helped. To be honest the overall canopy of all 6 plants are fairly even, except for my little baby ( AK-49 auto #4) she just stayed small. I've also been letting them really dry out and it has promoted some crazy growth, of course, the ladies received their normal regiment of one watering and one feeding for the week, but I expect this to change now that they have been flipped into flower they seem to be a bit more thirsty during this stage of life so I'll be keeping an eye out on that. Two things that can't be missed from this week were just how beautiful the ladies looked and the strong smell is that they are giving off already ( Thank God For Carbon Filters !!! LOL.) Couldn't be anymore happier with their progress right, so until next time fellow growers. Happy Growing and Enhance your Life.
Here we are for Week 6 and things have been smooth as can be. With them being at the start of flower I went ahead and did the last defoliation I'll do for this grow. The flower sites are nice and exposed to receive as much light as they can. The overall canopy of the grow space is pretty even except for AK-49 #4 it just never really grew like the others did but I still keep her going. The ladies received their usual watering and feeding of the week but this week we went up on the nutrients. I personally feel this has been a fairly easy grow so far especially with being six plants in the tent at the moment, just been letting them do their thing while just giving them the basics nothing special. Well that's all for this week friends, until next time, Happy Growing and Enhance Your Life !!!!
Boy how these ladies have grown. All 6 ladies at this point are showing trichomes and the flower sites are really starting to bulk up. Girl Scout Cookies # 2 is soooooo frosty it's crazy !!!! Other than keeping the tent clean and making sure they get a watering and feeding each week, these ladies have been effortless to grow. One that has changed is that they seem to a bit more thirstier than usual but thats normal in flower I've heard. Well till next time fellow growers Happy Growing and Enhance Your Life!
Here we are for the Week 8 Update for my biggest grow to date. The ladies are really starting to show trichomes like crazy along with their buds sites swelling seems like every day. Several of the ladies I had to defoliate again because they just became so bushy and I'm trying to make sure even the lower half of the plant is getting enough light. I've also noticed that all the ladies seem to be on the same track except for AK-49 #4 which just didn't grow much due to lack of light at the beginning of its life cycle and Girl Scout Cookies #2, which is almost done! Since I'm in the home stretch I check them every day to see if they need water because they've been super thirsty since they have been in flower. Well, that's gonna wrap it up for this week fellow growers, Happy Growing and remember to "Free Your Mind, One Puff At A Time "😉
Pretty Dank Stuff, that can be smoked night or day really doesn't matter. Didn't have any issues at all, let one grow natural and one with LST. I was really shocked at how they turned out especially since it was my first time with photoperiod plants and they were freebies !!!
Fairly happy with this grow I had never grown a photoperiod plant before but will definitely do it again. I started these two ladies off along with four autos and actually treated them the same until I saw the autoflowers beginning to flower so I switched the lights to 12/12 so they could start to flower along with the autos. If I could have done something differently it would have been to let them stay in the vegetative state for at least 2-3 months and then flip them to flower. It's a beautiful plant to grow naturally or using LST. I flushed them for a week and then placed them into a spare tent for 48 hours before chopping it down to hang dry. This time I did a wet trim then hung the whole plant. It took about 6 days to completely dry and is now in jars for a 17-day cure. Will update after the cure is finish .....
Some of my favorite by far. It's so easy to grow and delivers such a punch once it's done. It grew just as I thought it would except plant #4 which was underexposed to the light so it just didn't grow much.
I loved this strain so much the first time I grew it, I decided to grow it again and this time in bulk, It's so good the only problem is never having enough. I grew a total of 4 plants of this strain and it didn't disappoint. The strain was in the vegetative stage for about 4 weeks and then went into flower with no problem. The plants went to a 12/12 light schedule around this time also because I also grew 2 photoperiod plants in this grow. I never really ran into any problems except for plant #4 not getting enough light so it just grew really small, but still did better than what I thought It would do. Once each plant was dry after a 7-day flush they were chopped down and left to dry it took about 8 days for the bigger 3 plants and 5 days for the smaller plant. I then did a sloppy trim and put them in jars to cure, below are the dry weights for each plant:
Plant #1 - 58.6 grams
Plant #2 - 46.2 grams
Plant #3 - 52.2 grams
Plant #4 - 8.2 grams
This was by far my favorite grow over the last year and a half, it really turned out how I planned it and I can't wait to start my next grow. Thanks to everyone who gave advice or just stopped by to give a comment it was much appreciated. So until next time fellow growers "Happy Growing and Remember Free Your Mind, One Puff At A Time".
Looking nice man but if you having troubles with not enough light roate the plants over one spot each feeding to ensure they all get equal coverage until you can get another light in their!
@huntz4200, It's crazy you said that because I actually just did this week, I actually need to update the diary they just finished week 4. You saying that shows me I'm on the right track to fixing the issue. Thanks for the advice I accept it all, all help is good help!
@mweaver, is their anything specific your needing needing help with I checked to see if you had a diary up that would help also. Send me a message we'll talk ...
