Growing 4 plants in a 4x4 tent. 2 from Humbolt, 2 from RQS, including this one, the Wedding Gelato.
Germinated in small pots using 4:1 Coco/Perlite. Will transfer at around week 4 to 5 gallon fabric pots.
Will just be using Advanced Nutrients Grow and Bloom and Terpinator. Lights: 456 Watts from the wall. LED's.
There's also some autoflowers in the tent at the moment, as I started these as I was finishing my last batch of autoflowers to save time. Should be harvested before these finish vegging.
So this is week 5 of my first ever photoperiod grow. Grown 3 batches of autos so far with good success thanks to the excellent advice on here. Growing 4 plants in a 4x4 tent. 2 from Humbolt, 2 from RGS, including this one, the Wedding Gelato.
There's also a Barney's Farm Tangerine Dream autoflower in the tent at the moment, as I started these as I was finishing my last batch of autoflowers to save time.
I topped this one at the 5th node, leaving the 4th nodes branches on and stripping everything else, then topped a second and third time to get 10 main branches (hopefully).
Once the tangerine Dream is finished in the next week, I'll add a first-level trellis to even out the canopy. Shouldn't take too long now to cover it as I've done pretty much all the high-stress stuff to her I need to already, and she's bounced back like a champ.
Really impressed with this strain so far, and loving the way I can bully these plants in veg so much more than autos.
The Tangerine dream autoflower I was finishing off was finally ready and chopped today, which meant I could add the scrog at last. Will let all 4 plants settle after some pretty brutal HST for a few days.
These girls should be ready to flip to flower in the next 10 days as the canopy is about full. Will lollypop everything below the scrog after that.
Things progressed nicely since the last update.
All 4 plants are loving the environment. These pics are taken 9 days after the last update with calyxes (I think that's their name?) starting to sprout. I flipped the light schedule to 12/12 the day after these pics were taken, marking day one of flower.
Day 14 of flower and all 4 plants have stretched over a foot in the last week. Should start putting all of their energy into flowering now.
Looking really good so far. Really, really good.
Progressing smoothly. Starting to see a frost around the flowers. Very encouraging.
They're drinking about 2litres of water a day each and have fed nutes every watering.
This is the biggest plant of the 4 although it's hard to tell because it's at the back corner. It's taking about a 1/3rd of the tent up and I'm having to hold the branches up with plant tie. The smell is almost like marzipan. Beautiful. Added molasses into the mix because I ran out of Terpinator and why the hell not? Pics taken day 49 of flower. Another 10 days or so and I'll begin the flush.
Chopped day 70 of flower. Lost the top quarter of the biggest cola to mold which sucked. Totally my fault as I had spent a lot of time away from home the last few weeks of flower. On both plants which had this minor problem, the problem colas had been held up with string so were not moving in the air.
Still managed a really good harvest, though. Weighed 473g of trimmed wet bud and around 1/4lb trim which will be made into bubble hash.
The buds are dense and sticky. They're solid nugs, even the smaller popcorn. Of all 4 strains grown on this run, this is the one I am looking forward to most. Smells of marzipan, and the trimming was easiest of all with hardly any leaf.
Hopefully will be looking at over 5oz when dry. Will update with full harvest pics then.
The best quality cannabis I have grown so far. Sweet and smooth with a mellow, balanced and creative high. Nuggs look amazing after 12 days curing. Shame I don't have any more seeds, will def grow again. RQS done a great job. 123 Gram of top quality bud and 32 Gram of trim for hash.
Sincere thanks to the grow diaries community. In just over a year I have learned enough to grow top quality medicine at a fraction of what I would normally pay. Plus, it's such an interesting hobby!
I will continue giving to this great community. This plant is mother nature's gift to us all.
