Growering once, always growing! 🤪 So I am starting a new diary with my favorite strain by far Durban Poison from Dutch Passion. I tried Auto flowering as my first experience I gave myself an Eye for effort. Now that I've learned from my mistakes, watched a lot of videos, read testimonies and blogs I feel the need for a new challenge : Growing strong Sativa in a cheap DIY Indoor Growbox 😱... I know pretty scary. I am busy buying bilbs and bulbs here and there to be ready before flowering stage. I started the germination process in a wet paper towel then the seedling process in 2 phases : - in Starbucks grande transparent cup that made some whole on the bottom and I placed it next to my Basil hydroponic to enjoy the scheduled light 16/8. For a week. - Today I repoted my from the Starbucks cup to an 1 gallon DIY pot with whole in the bottom and whole around the cup as well to avoid over watering and to allow the roots to breath. I started to give me plant General Hydroponic "Flora Building Block" (Micro, Group and Bloom, 1/4 each). My DIY growing in still on paper and spare parts are already here. Unfortunately we are moving to another place soon and we want to have the big parts bought after we moved and settled. So right now as we started to collect cardboard boxes for the move I took one of them to start a simulation of how I want my FYI Indoor Growbox to look like. I've installed so far : - An IKEA LED grow plant bulb with 4000 Kelvin, 800 Lumens and 10 watts. Place around 8 inches from the plant base - A Air Purifier Replacement Filter, True HEPA and Activated Carbon (will be combine with 140mm computer fan for exhaust) - A 5200mAh Mini Oscillating Battery Operated Desk Fan to move the air inside and to strengthen the plant (I will increase the strength of the fan for the Vegetation stage) I switched from 16/8 to 18/6 for the light schedule. Any tips are more than welcome Happy Grow everybody 🌱

Can I use tin foil for inside the grow box for light reflection?

i just would go with plain white stuff, you can use carton, paper, or a white foil. I wont go with alufoil or something like that. Because the alufoil reflects the light in weired ways, that brings no good light. The best reflector is plain white. That light is a directly reflected good light for your plants

It's been an experimental week 🤪👌✌️. I made my own soil from the forest in the mountains I was looking for an area where canopy is pretty dense and healthy, I mixed it with perlite and a small amount of vermiculite as how the water retention with my DIY soil. My final DIY grow box is on stand by right I don't really have the time right now but the cardboard box seems to satisfy her needs so far. I installed a 60% reflective tin foil film and a 4000 Lumens LED light bulb and it help grow new leaves on the existing nodes but I wasn't sure if this was a suitable solution for her and @Mrs_larimar suggested to no to so for a day I let my plant enjoy the natural brightness from the sun and then back into the cardboard box. She seems pretty huge for a 2 weeks old plant, thank to the nutrients I guess

Hey growers, She is growing really fast I wanted to start LST after week 4 but at that rhythm I finally decided to do that in week 3. I have used 2 wooden sticks for the 2 big branches, 2 hard wires and 2 soft wires. I don't know if 6 main comes would work but let see next week. The final DIY Growbox won't be ready before week 5 my calendar is extremely busy and she seems happy in the car board grow box so far

Hi growers! Hell of a week. Topping, cloning, training, transpoting... You named it all. So the LST works pretty good I took some fan leaves out because the light couldn't reach the smaller head that I'm trying to train and then boom! Everything accelerated, and she got taller and to close to the lights so I decided to topped her but and now trying to make a clone out of the topping... No waste 🤪😊. I built a DIY dome with 2 Tupperware, black tape, glue gun and some decorative rocks for stability moisture and "irrigation". I used Roots liquid gel from Wilson the roots development, unfortunately I let clone and the dome outside under the sunlight she got all saggy and dead almost 😱😭so I brought her inside humidified inside the dome I put her in front of the cardboard grow box and after 10 hours she showed me signs of rebirth " Hooray" 😅🤗 I will try my best to keep her alive. In the meantime I decided transpoting the mother plant in a 2 gallon airport and use twine instead of wires. I have increased the nutrient to 5ml of each solution in a 1 gallon of water. All 6 heads seem happy so far. DIY final Growbox should be ready for next posting. Happy growing

Clone is 3 days old she recovered a lot vs her saggy look after I left her under direct sunlight (lesson) but she's still not straighten as she should be yet. The first 2 days I've moisturized the dome twice, day 3 I started to open the dome for couple hours. What should I do?

Nothing more than what you are doing ! 18h of light and 90%/80% of humidity under your dome will do the work for you. After a couple days ( now ) you can let some fresh air get inside by making little holes or open a big the dome daily. After 10 time 15 days your clone should be ready.

Late Week 5 update and the grow box isn't 100% ready yet. Remaining the door, a shelf and the extract fan system with carbon filter. Kinda disappointed😔. Anyway, the canopy is happy so far so good growing. I stretched the branches a little bit more as some of them couldn't receive enough light, I spray the leaves with carbonated water to provide some co2 I have also increase the nutrient ratio for an aggressive vegetative growth for maybe 2 then I will transition to bloom ratio. I will probably install a third lightbulb to help increase the fields... Will see Happy growing

Week 6. I was on holiday for 5 days. I set up a slow watering system and the timer in my absence. I didn't put the fan as it will move the smell with the inside air with no intake from outside ambient air. No carbonated water either. Back home and I can see that everything worked out almost perfectly I shouldn't have set up a slow watering system I should have make it stronger. The humidity and the temperature dropped. I think I will start reduce the light schedule to 12-12 because the space between the light and the leaves is reduced to 28cm now I'm expecting 6 weeks of flowering and I don't to chance having under 20cm space in between. Some leaves are yellowish and some are dead in the lower part of the tree I think it's because the light not getting all the way there?? 🤔😕. Might need some trimming? Or else? The clone died R.I.P, there was moisture on the main part I'd assume it's a lack of air and an excess of humidity. Still wondering if I will give it another try... we'll see!

Hi growers! Week 7 now !! It's a girl🙇‍♂️🏼‍♀️ !! Even though I wanted the flowering process around that time, she is taking the entire grow room so I had to switch light schedule to start the process I have also changed the nutrient ratio to a "Transition to Bloom" application for 10 days then I will move to "Blooming to ripening" application for maybe 5 weeks I hope. I tried to capture on pictures the minuscule white pistil. The temperature has dropped a little bit so I'm making sure that the watering solution temperature to be a little colder to not shock the roots. Unfortunately the light isn't reaching every parts of the plant but I don't exactly what to do I did bring the light further down but I don't want to burn the leaves. That will be all for me this week folks. Happy growing 🌿🌱.

Week 8. She was really bushy and too healthy for the grow room even with the training I provided a month ago I should have keeping on topping and LST on the 2 main colas... Lesson learned now thanks to @Fruitgrower @Mrs_Larimar @Cbalderson60 I kindly tried to bend the 2 main colas but I wasn't kind enough I guess and I cracked/slight broken the junction I quickly solidified the area with jute twine, 3 days after.. No signs of dying or stressed but I'll keep an eyes on it. I re-LST-ed the other colas and I defoliated the bottom I removed some fan leaves 🍃🍃but not too much. I'm saving and drying the cuts for later I will mix them with butter or canna oil for Marijuana Tea ☕🤗. I stretched the most than I could the stems to let the light go through and reach as many spots as possible still some un reachable areas I maybe will remove some some fan leaves and keep on defoliate in 5-7 days I don't want to stress her too much. I struggled a little bit with humidity inside the box was permanently 60% where flowering stage the level of humidity should be between 40-50% I bought another computer and I let the door of the box opened, that helps reduced the humidity to 43%. I sprayed her with carbonated water twice a week. Happy growing 🌱🌿🌳 Happy Canadian Thanksgiving 🦃

Week 9. Uneventful really. White pistils are really present mostly on the top of the day plant. I also change the location of the grow box for a less humid room because it was reaching 75% now it sits on 55% definitely better but I want to go below 50%. Happy growing every one

Week 10. I might screwed up the nutrients dosage some leaves are burnt on there borders and some stems are turning pinky red ish. I added more water in the container if there's changes for the next 5 days I will have to start flushing even though I'm a month away from harvesting. As you can see in some pictures on the lower part and on the main branches there's a couple of small-short stems with white pistils 'Say what!? 😲😱🤪', I think I will have to harvest twice.. Sounds crazy but I think I saw couple of diaries with 2 separate harvest sessions. I think I found the right balance for humidity - air flows - smell I finally installed the computer fan optimally for these 3 components (pretty noisy though). 44% (60-68 after watering). Pretty good eh! Happy growing everyone

Week 11. I've founded a double socket for e27 (medium) that allowed me to add another light bulb💡 (thanks @Mrs_Larimar). I removed most of the yellow/burnt fan leaves and I was tempted to remove all of them.🧐 I'm a little bit more concerned because some sugar leaves are getting affected now😤 and I don't know what else can get me rid of this infection/issue although I've been giving her only straight water for 8 days and more power light for 4 days now 😭😭😭. On the other end the flowering process is still progressing and it looks like I might end out with nice size buds. It feels like 3 more weeks before harvesting!!! Can't wait. Curing process will be more stressful lol I probably do 2 weeks end I will blaze up the chalwa for Xmas (with a Jamaican accent) 🧝‍♂️🏿,🧝‍♂️🏿🧙‍♂️🏿 PS : there's not Rastafarian icons yet. Happy growing everyone! 🌱🌿🌳

as you can see on some picture some leaves have burnt edges, others are 80% yellow-ish and few have yellow dots. I thought that I gave too much nutrients so I've been giving her only straight water for 8 days and more power light for 4 days. No improvement it's worse now. Please

well. i go either with a) a lightburn or B) with a potassium defiency....... Its hard to tell atm... i let you a link for selfdiagnosis in the comments . But you have been very heavy in grownutrients too, so i go with the classy comination......to much Nitrogen/ to close to the light.. and maybe a potassium def.......but only maybe... its really hard to tell

The harvesting process was pretty easy and nice to do. My buds weren't as big as I wanted them to be. I wanted to save the leaves to make tea but the deficiency (potassium I think) convinced me to not to. I kept a medium size Mason glass jar full of buds to cure and will smoke for 420!!... Patience is a gift 😁✌️Peace Out!
