Here we are again. Dropped the seeds into a jiffy pot and then promptly watered with some very acidic water by mistake, then watered with some nutes by mistake (really should label my bottles better), but 5 days later we have a nice sprout. While it took a few more days than normal to germinate, she is looking on pace by the middle of week 1.
Ph has been swinging, just not enough buffers in the water right now, so just keeping it in the high 6's till things. Only a little taste of nutes in the water right now for when the roots show.
Wow the roots took off fast in this pot. I will need to think about pruning the roots again, that might help for later on in the grow. This week we are just watching the growth for any signs of issue. So far the color looks good, and growth is right on track for at least a topping in week 3.
Ph is pretty stable, water use is still too low to really measure.
Great week for growing so I decided to chop off some of that growth. She was topped to the 3rd node and all lower growth removed. Just a half inch shorter than sister next door. Roots are also doing great, having no problems in this grow and will probably prune back a few roots tomorrow after she has recovered from trim on top.
Color looks perfect, going to keep trimming till we are flowering 8 nodes. Have her tied down and did a root prune 10 hours after the chop on top. Looking really good! This time we are going for quality over quantity.
Wondering how my yields will work out per plant with more going in the same small space, but with going on mainlining these plants I should be good on space.
This number of lights and all has maxed out my additional AC unit so we can only cool to 75 degrees, 3 lights running 2x 1000w ipantop and 1x 2000w kingled. The heat outside has started to break already for summer so this heat situation should get better.
She is coming nicely. Like in my tap water diary I should have left more time between the top chopping and root chopping so she would have recovered a little faster.
This week she will stay tied up till we need to top for the final time before flowering. Going to give a full week of recovery after that final topping and switch into flowering in week 5.
Ph is stable at 6.2 and food is at a good level for this week so we will hold back food for a little bit still. I do not swap the reservoir during the grow, only if issues or final flush.
I lost a few days in the grow, 8/19 is actually only day 24 from seed so week 4 will run long to get back on track.
Noticed today 8/22 I missed on the second two toppings so trimmed them back up should be ready for final topping in 1-2 days. 8/23 she is big enough to take her last toppings and we should be ready for flowering starting next week.
Getting bigger and bigger. Really starting to grow now. I will probably do some mild defoliation here this week. Other than that she looks really good but completely different than her sister from the same seed pouch. Still very healthy looking, if little small for week 5.
Ph is a little low after feeding so we going to bring up with so armor si and the a little Ph up if need be. Pretty light on water usage still, between 32-64 oz of water every 2 days.
On to next week
A little defoliation on 9/8 shows off that great structure in the center and opens up that space for more lower growth. Big jump in size from last week. Still a little on the small side and the roots are bit smaller here too. Still looking like a good plant overall. Keeping the lights close to the plant to keep her a little shorter, as I raise the other lights this plant will pickup light from the side and I think really fill in nicely.
Ph is a problem in this bucket. I'm having to add Ph up daily to keep in the 5.8-5.9 range. If it gets much worse I'm going to swap the water.
Maybe a little defoliation this week, but nothing major planned.
9/10 update. The middle has started to fill in, a little slower than her sister but that's ok. Really coming into shape now and getting taller. I'm hoping this one will come in right around 32-36" tall at harvest.
9/13 Friday the 13th has been good the plants, she is getting bigger this week, but still way behind her sister. I'm going to let the grow room heat up a little this week, hopefully not too much. The light over her has a few blue LEDs with issues that I will repair this week and helpfully that will help. See SLH on tap water for more info on iPlantop lights.
Ph is still drifting down in the buckets but manageable with Armor Si for adjusting. Even with being short she still needed three rounds of defoliation to get here. Will probably have one more big chop this coming week then just pull a leaf here and there to let her know who is boss. Lights have been moved up to try and help her grow up a bit. I'll ramp up the bloom this week as she looks ready to go.
9/15 switched out the air pump and air stones, the strips work better for me now. Ya the new light is really bright. So bright it reads higher on the lumen meter even at 10" higher. This single light replaces the 3 independent lights I was using for my grow. Runs a ton cooler than the old lights so save me money on lighting, cooling and make the res temps a little easier to manage.
Oh ya the plant, she is looking very happy. She is now getting feeding broken down to daily increments. Starting to think about swapping the water in this bucket.
9/17 she has started exploding. Removed lower foliage and dumped a little micro in the bucket. Should see some white hairs by next week.
9/24. Last week we had a ton of growth. Nice looking flowers. All the SLH now need some support to keep them in place. Going to bump up the flower and micro (till stretch ends on the micro). Did a good bit of trimming to the plant, will make a another pass this week.
Keep managing the Ph daily and watering till done.
