Start of second grow!
This time i've invested in a 400w hps with 20% more blue. I'll switch with Mars hydro 300 if temps are too high (Still stuck with bad air extractor, will get a better one soon)
Biobizz Lightmix Mix, 20% added perlite. I'll use biobizz grow, bloom, topmax, alg a mic and root juice.
This time again, ANY tip appreciated, this is my second grow and first one was a failure.
Edit 22/9: i'll be using small pots and mars hydro this whole first week. I need a day off to go buy a cooltube and a new air extractor.
Day 6. The air extractor fell on one double grape and killed it on the spot. I've got another one in germination now.
Had to switch pots on day 3 since the taproots of the mephisto's were showing at the bottom of the small pots already.
The size gap between mephisto's and the DP BBK is crazy. Mephisto's seedlings are twice the size so far. I Wonder if it's gonna stay that way until harvest.
DG's leaves look so weird tho.
Still having a hard time figuring out the proper watering quantity. Gave around 500-600ml each on day 4, but the ground got so dense
Update day 13: the newest DG is another mutant and not growing.
The AvT is growing like crazy, already starting to grow side branches. I think i'll put another one in the ground.
So this diary's gonna focus on the AvT. The DG are dead, all 3 of them. All mutants (including one killed by the extractor.) It might have been because of low RH, so i'm giving DG a last try, i'll make a diary soon.
I installed a cooltube (do NOT buy bat cooltube from superplant. The electrical diagram mistakes neutral and phase. Wires are short af. Had to dismantle previous light to get cables).
This plant is stretching I believe. Preflowers showed on day 10 or so. Today's day 17, she's growing side branches from everywhere, even from cotyledons.
I've started LST and BioGrow. I'll see how it goes, but she seems very healthy (praying in the morning). I don't know how's the size compared to others. I hope she's doing fine.
Can't figure out what I've done wrong this time. It's flowering so early, without any stress or anything. Started flowering on day 23. Good temps, no stress, no def, was growing healthy till those stupid pistils showed up. If anyone knows why, i'd appreciate some advice.
She's stretching a bit! I did some LST last week, and she's now 24cm and growing some more.
She's starting to lack P and K so i've added them to the feed. Hoping it won't stop the stretch.
I've come to the conclusion that she doesn't like too much light. She seems much healthier when I run 18/6 than 24/0.
day 35, she stopped stretching I believe. She started at 17cm After lst, now she's got 6 main colas at 26cm, and other few (5 more colas) at 20 cm. She's small, but keep in mind it's only my second grow.
She's still not drinking much, around 500ml every 2-3 days. She's showing the praying hands, I believe it's sign of good health.
Despite her small size, i'm very hyped so far. She seems to grow on her own. The smell is getting great, I can tell she's gonna get stinky very fast.
The only thing tht's still bothering me is that I can't water to runoff. Anything over 500ml and she's drooping like crazy. But overnight it's back to praying hands. Fucking awesome strain.
Everything's going great the smell is getting pronounced. The frost is already forming. small Bloom nutes deficiency. Delayed it to try to push her to stretch.
One word: FROST. Oh, and another. SMELL. Everyday she's getting fatter, frostier and smellier (if that's a word).
I've started feeding sole pk 13 14 that came with my light. Can't find anything about it online so i'm taking the bet. Started at 1ml/l, recommended 2-4. Second feed was at 2ml/L.
She's drinking EVERYTHING i throw at her, i feed her every watering, the only time i've watered her without feed, she yellowed like crazy on the lowest leaves.
About yellowing, i'm quite unsure about the new one. They're turning yellow at the bottom and "hanging low", like underwatering. However they're not turning crispy like P def, and it's on the whole leaf. Happened very fast too. Is she just showing first signs of age ? Or just a big n def?
Heavy yellowing, don't really know what else to do. Increased Grow and Bloom dosage, added dolomite lime, it gets better for a couple days, then back to heavy yellowing. I don't know if it's nute lockout? Or if she's just really hungry and I need to go above recommended maximum?
She's far from harvest, she's showing some cloudy but I feel like she's growing more and more clear still. She's gonna be a slow finisher, despite what I thought earlier in the grow.
Can't Say much about the smell. It used to smell like lemon, then like a good kush, now it smells almost like a skunk/kush hybrid. I really can't Say how it will smell tomorrow.
Sorry for the lack of update. This has been a mess. She spent 4 days without lights around week 8, and it was a Real s#*tshow after that for the deficiencies. It probably shocked her, but I had no choice.
After a good flush, she's back at it. She's hungry with the N and I just can't pick up the pace. The trichs tht were turning cloudy before the shock are now Amber, but there are still a good (40%?) Amount of clear, so i'll let her run a couple more weeks, will start flush next week.
By the way i'll get some proper photos for next week but the cold (3 nights at 7-10°C) triggered some nice purple colors on the buds.
Sorry I haven't updated in a while. She was doing her thing and got flushed. A bit of foxtailing, just enough to make trimming a chore.
It smells like freaking citronella, an impressive mix of pine and lemon.
She is the easiest strain i've grown so far. She takes anything like a champ. Harvested in December, but I did my review without any pic, it canceled, and I'm a lazy MFer. Still don't hava a decent pic since everything's smoked.
Well considering the stress I put her through, i'm very happy about what I've gotten from her. Cold turned her purple and she was very beautiful. Not dense or anything, but I didn't use any boost. I have one seed left, and I'll be dropping her this summer I think.
I don't think you have done anything wrong , things to always check - soil ph runoff , but the time it takes before flowering is strain dependent, it's an auto it does what it does , let's see if it s ready in 8 weeks 👍
@BigDaddyK, if it's a pheno causing it to be ready in 8 weeks i'd be actually happy (landlord stuffs). I've still moved lights a bit higher, following @JUNGLE_B4RNS instinct, just in case.
@Yogsothoth, i'm growing the same strain, mine is very big, but that depends on phenotype, very strange that they flower so early, mine only started flowering on day 35
@Yogsothoth, after having your lessons learned you will do so for sure. This time I transferred the plants like you want to do it but that was not good for any plant. In my opinion if you want to transfer them it could be better to wait till they are a bit stronger. But I am not as experienced to asses this proper.
@Tistou, thank you. My first grow was BBK too, but I messed up. Still very beautiful buds, smell awesome and stone hard. Hopefully I grow it bigger this time!
@Cannabisqueen, thank you. I'll harvest her any day now. If I had one advice to give, it would be to not be shy with N in flowering. I've grown 2 of those, and they both ate much more than max recommended grow nute during flowering, but still yellowed quite fast.
Ive got big plants my friend i feed sensi AB bloom at 2 ml per litre and about a ml of cal mag i petsonally water evey 2 to 3 days ive found with small plants water the same and i only add cal mag evey other watering ive if watering evey day it would be in very small amounts
I had the same yellow leafs on this strain with the same nutrients.. i have fixed it with Epsom salt and higher dosis of topmax, and you should give a bit more of rootjuice
anyway, rest looks awesome, me gusta
@Simon, that would lead to less Bloom per day then, wouldn't it? Unsure how it would help fight the deficiency. I'll try to increase bloom but keeping the watering frequency as is.
The yelowong you've mention it's a cause of low night temps. You should rise the night temps to 21-22 degreis celcius. The low night temps slows metabolism and degries the yield as well.
