Catching up a bit. Haven't been posting in a while.
2x2x4 grow tent
added 4" exhaust and filter system and it is working well, no more smell throughout the house
I have only used the 150W UFO LED light so far, but will use the other lights when I go into flowering stage.
Started a new grow (Blue Monkey and OG Kush)
Planted: July 17
Germinated : July 20 (OG) - July 21 (Blue Monkey)
Transplanted to larger pot on July 28
Watering: about 7oz every two days, but this has been picking up as the last watering was today at 9oz.
Aug 6: clipped the tops of both plants
began a low level LST and clipped the tops to form a 4 colas and another 2 on each side for a total of 6
Installed a elevated ring to tie the colas to.
Defoliated as I went, keeping growth of leaves only above the ring. So far, so good.
Waiting for the OG Kush to grow upward a bit more before fully defoliating below the ring.
Exhaust fan creates a negative pressure so opened up both sides of bottom vents. This really helps to keep the air circulating across the plants. They look very healthy.
Spray with a diluted mixture of Cal-Mag on the leaves and enough to keep the soil moist on the top.
Feeding Dr. Earth plant food tea (1/4 cup mixed with quart of water) 2 oz every two weeks.
Feeding with 3oz every other week with Miracle Grow (1/4 per Gal)
Running 18/6 on the lighting, will change to 12/12 next week and hope to see some flowering soon after
****** One of my best grows so far ********
Lessons Learned.
*Grow tent is a must have, even a small one.
*Exhaust fan and filter are a must have. Helps control smell, but also keeps clean air circulating across the plants. No trouble with pests or disease this time around.
* have a strategy
I picked a simple low stress training method
**** Patience **** can't tell you how obsessive I get over these plants. You should just let them grow and, for the most part, leave them alone.
