Feeding regimen is regularly everything minus the additives, such as Herculean Harvest, Photosynthesis Plus and the Bio-Cozyme additive. These are added twice per week, usually at the beginning of each week and again 3 days later. Plants are regularly fed every 48 hours, however this will increase in week 2 or 3 of flower to every day. I water drain-to-waste only twice per week (20 to 30% runoff).
Noticing some early signs of Nitrogen toxicity creeping in. Next feed (Flower day 8) will be all MaxiBloom (7 grams per gallon water) until harvest. Girls should use up the excess Nitrogen pretty quickly during the stretch.
End of day 5 heights; PPP: 11 in., AI: 11 in., CK: 15 in.
End of day 6 heights; PPP: 12 in., AI: 12 in., CK: 16 in.
Full steam ahead -- no issues with any of the plants and the stretch for the Critical Kush is insane...
Heights (Day 13) -
Critical Kush: 24 inches
Pure Power Plant: 16 inches
Aurora Indica: 16 inches
I expect the Critical Kush to land around the 3 foot mark when flowering is concluded. Aurora Indica should be right around 24 to 30 inches. First time flowering Pure Power Plant, though it looks similar in stretch to the Aurora Indica and should end up just under 3 feet tall.
Oct. 3: Think there is a minor Sulfur and Magnesium deficiency that's been occurring since the beginning of flower (most likely). I am adding Epsom salt (0.25 to 0.5 grams per liter) to feeds and gave a quarter dose (0.125ml per liter) of PK boost. Should straighten the girls out!
Heights (Day 15) -
Critical Kush: 27 inches
Pure Power Plant: 18 inches
Aurora Indica: 18 inches
Discovered an issue with my pH meter -- measured pH was 0.5 lower than actual pH. This caused the last several feedings to be lowered to 5.3 to 5.5 pH. This caused minor Sulfur, Magnesium and Phosphorous deficiencies to creep in. Now that that has been corrected, the plants are darkening up top and really reaching up to the light now!
For anyone curious, I would suggest these three genotypes require a light to medium feed. Keeping the EC between 1.6 and 1.8 you begin to notice signs of nutrient excess. Keeping the ladies at 1.5 EC and they seem to be just fine (in pure Coco Coir).
During the stretch the girls consumed a lot of nutrients and started showing signs of overall nutrient deficiency. I moved the feed to full strength and will maintain to the beginning of week 6, where I begin to taper feeds.
Was ill and unable to properly care for the plants; nutrient deficiency crept in quickly. However, I was able to resume normal nutrient feeds and the yellowing has stopped.
Plants are slowly recovering from the nutrient build-up when I was unable to care for them properly. That included a nutrient build-up and drought conditions for several days last week. They appear to be about a week behind where they should be. Slow and steady now until harvest, perhaps they will bounce back and produce!
Day 39F update: tied up some of the colas to promote better air flow and pruned some extraneous fan leaves. Added 2x 120mm fans to move air around under the canopy.
Calyxes are beginning to swell. Pistils are beginning to dry out and recede as well. Aurora Indica should be finishing up in 2 weeks, Critical Kush in 2.5 to 3 weeks and Pure Power Plant should come down in 3 to 4 weeks.
Looking like I was correct on the harvest window. This week continued with bulking and they have approximately doubled in size since day 49. Flower bulking started around day 42. During week 9 the calyxes should continue to swell and ripening should commence.
I have also scoped the trichomes and all plants are showing a 50/50 split between clear and cloudy trichomes. Amber trichomes are beginning to show as well (one or two per 50 trichs), so I know the harvest window is fast approaching. Light nutrient feeds from here out.
Flowering plants are now putting out more aroma than the filter can handle. Getting close to chop day! The harvest window starts on day 60 (Nov. 20). Plants will come down no later than day 67.
I got antsy and took a small bud that was getting full light (albeit at a distance of 16 inches from bulb) to check trichomes (I don't have particularly steady hands). This was on day 52 and trichomes were approximately 50/50 at that point. Tested the flower, great taste even with no cure, very much kush with citrus undertones and some astrigent or janitorial cleaner. Got me soaring for close to 3 hours before needing another hit. Functional euphoric feeling, cut right through my stress and anxiety. This was a more cerebral affair accompanied by moderate body relaxation. I am definitely excited to consume the finished product.
Also made some seeds; here are the crosses I will be working over the next year (be on the lookout for the grow journals):
Royal Queen Seeds' Critical Kush x (Bruce Banner #3 x Stardawg)
Nirvana's Aurora Indica x (Bruce Banner #3 x Stardawg)
Nirvana's Pure Power Plant x (Bruce Banner #3 x Stardawg)
If you are interested in the Bruce Banner #3 x Stardawg cross, check out my Greenpoint Seeds' The Deputy grow journal. Following this grow, I will need to take a small break while my living situation changes. Once setup, I will be growing out a full pack of Sunset Sherbet x Stardawg, followed by my personal Critical Kush x (Bruce Banner #3 x Stardawg) cross!
Pure Power Plant is all the remains in flower by day 63. Critical Kush came down on day 59, Aurora Indica on day 62. I am not expecting much from the Aurora Indica plant due to being used for a breeding project. Critical Kush looks to be yielding close or just over 56 grams. Aurora Indica might see 28 grams. Pure Power Plant on the other hand, looks poised to pull close to 84 grams. If I can pull 5 ounces this run, color me happy but looking to improve.
Harvested Pure Power Plant at day 69.
Average to above average genetics that should be given a more experienced hand to yield maximum quality (and quantity). With the sativa leaning phenotype, expect abundant yields of gassy, acrid citrus flowers that have above average bag appeal. Taken down at 58 to 60 days -- the effect is stoney, being initially cerebral. Full body relaxation should be felt shortly after, with the cerebral effect fading after an hour or two. High lasts three to four hours (maybe longer if tolerance is very low). Do not use if you need to be alert or mentally sharp.
Growing notes:
This phenotype likes cooler temperatures, especially late in flower. Definitely an overall light feeder that needs a boost of CalMag in Weeks 2 to 4 of flower. Does not respond well to recommended dosage of powerful bloom boosters. In these growing conditions (noted in the journal) flowering should take 60 to 70 days. I believe the effect would be more narcotic the closer to 70 days you take her.

If I would have dropped my temperatures in the last 2 weeks to 78F, I believe the flower density and aroma would have improved. I topped this plant once and did very light training, using a SCROG net to spread the shoots out evenly. Grown with a more experience hand (unfortunately I did not do this plant justice), I would expect greasy, tight flower clusters that smell like dank citrus gas.
Not a strain I recommend for beginners. The stretch is surprising as the plant in veg is squat and node spacing is average. Without topping, I would expect the plant to grow into single, dominate shoot, with above average branching. Light training improves yields and shrinks the average cluster size to prevent mold (recommended for these growing conditions).
She tastes piney and sweet, with just a touch of floral essence. Plenty of that dank, skunk odor to offend non-consumers in the nose. I only smell the sweet, dried pine floral scent! Very heady effect, keeping you alert and social. Definitely a day time medicine as it slows down after several hours to keep alert. Dosing heavy will give you a heavier body stone with cerebral stimulation, making it great in social settings or for relaxing hobbies.
Vigorous grower in veg and only a 50% stretch in flower make her ideal for indoor environments. Took her to end of week 10, for 69 days of flowering. It is possible she could have used an extra week (75 days of flowering) for best effect and taste. Grow this one taller in veg before forcing flower. Stacks flowers very well.
Easy growing plant, stays short and can take moderate abuse. Safe to push more nutrients and endures drought conditions well. If you need a plant that can grow anywhere, this is it.
@CaliGrown,
You will never find me growing with blurple LED fixtures. HID kits are the same cost or cheaper and outperform those fixtures consistently. Try 315 or 630 watt CMH fixtures if you want HID with more efficiency and full spectrum light.
Hi my friend, your plants look great. I would like to get some advices from your experiences, it's my first planting.
That's why I have problems on when to harvest my plant. Would you please look at my diary and tell me around when should I harvest my plant?
Additionaly, I'm thinking that I will have 150 gr dried harvest. What is your opinion, do I have to wait for something less? Thank you. ☺️😇
Hell yeah you have got some nice buds there! congrats on starting your harvest that is always a great feeling when you know that you did everything right and now you get to enjoy the fruits of your labor 👍 keep up the GREAT work!
