April 9
Placed DR. GRINSPOON bred by Barneys Farm in a piece of wet tissue paper and into a zip lock bag to retain moisture. Water was approximately 60 PPM with a pH of 6.0
Left in a dark area at room temperature (21 C)
April 11
Planted DR. GRINSPOON with a taproot of approximately 1/2 cm into a 1:1 mix of coco-coir and Gaia Green living soil 4-4-4
Placed into a grow tray with a dome cover.
Dampened with spray bottle each time it threatens of drying out, which is not very often at all. Just make sure to keep watch.
April 12
DR.GRINSPOON emerged from Soil today, Just one day after sowing.
Currently she is under only 50 watts of Fluorescent lighting and in a tray with dome cover.
Nothing needed to be done. Just light spraying with water from the spray bottle when the soil threatens to dry.
Reason we use the spray bottle is because the soil was placed very light and airy into the solo cup, we do not want a thick stream of water to collapse air pockets in the soil and compress further into the pot.
April 18
DR.GRINSPOON is very healthy and growing at a quick and steady rate.
Still no need to add anything in regards to nutrients.
The Gaia Green 4-4-4 Living Soil is sufficient enough for early Vegetation.
Checking Daily to Monitor humidity and temperature and still only watering by spraying with a water bottle of water as soil threatens to dry.
April 27
DR.GRINSPOON is growing very well and very healthy.
Still no need for additional nutrients.
Has only needed to be watered with spray bottle about once a week thus far.
Today DR.GRINSPOON was moved from the mini tray and dome veg unit into the 2x4x4 Veg tent with 400 watt Fluorescent lighting.
May 2
DR.Grinspoon was left mostly untouched except for a couple light watering from the spray bottle once the soil threatened to dry, the nutrients from Gaia Green living soil was sufficient enough to last into Veg.
Today, Dr. Grinspoon was transplanted into a 2 gallon pot with Gaia Green Living soil at a 1:1 ratio with Pro-Mix HPCC (High porosity coco-coir) that has been moistened.
Soil was also amended with HALF (50%) amount of recommended transplanted mix amounts of Gaia Green 4-4-4. That is 2 TBSP per gallon of soil, mixed in before transplanting.
Once Transplanted, DR.GRINSPOON was watered with 500 ml of veg compost tea.
Recipe from Growers Bible 3.
May 8
DR.GRINSPOON is growing at a very quick rate and is healthy.
She is only being watered about 2-3 times a week with 500 ml of water each time.
Now we are watching the bottom leaves and cotyledons for the slightest bit of yellowing to let us know that she is in need of re-amendment.
May 10
DR.GRINSPOON was topped above the third node from the bottom once she had 5 inter-nodes.
May 13/14
DR.GRINSPOON has recovered very quickly from topping, almost as if she didn't even notice.
Lower branches spread out wide naturally and grew at a even rate between them all.
She was fed today with a Liter of vegetative compost tea, once again from the recipe featured in "The Cannabis Grow Bible Third Edition"
Spraying daily with mister bottle each morning to imitate morning dew.
May 18
DR.GRINSPOON may be one of the longest plants to take to finish, However, it is definitely one of the fastest growing that I have experienced in terms of size.
Watering DR.GRINSPOON 2-3 times a week with 1 L of water.
May 19
DR.GRINSPOON was fed with 1 L of Compost Tea, Recipe featured in The Grow Bible Third Edition
May 22-25
DR.GRINSPOON was transplanted into a 10 gallon grow bag at the beginning of this week.
Soil mix was a 1:1 of Fox Farm Ocean Soil mix and Pro-Mix HPCC that was made damp before transplanting with water filtered through reverse osmosis unit from #HydroLogic
Soil was blended with 40 Tablespoons of Gaia Green Dry Organic Fertilizer 4-4-4. This is 100% of Recommended mixing rates when making a pre-mix.
June 2
DR.GRINSPOON is being given 6 L of plain water once a week at 6.8 pH
She was topped at 5 main leads and branches pulled apart with malleable metal stakes, bent in half and stuck into the soil.
June 8
DR.GRINSPOON is doing incredibly well and growing at an intensely fast rate. Definitely the fastest growing plant I have ever had the opportunity to experience.
Since the topping last week, she has bushed out at a very natural and healthy rate.
Still only just adding water about once a week, it really is just touch and feel at this point.
DR.GRINSPOON had out grown Veg tent and was moved outside to continue vegging for 2 more weeks.
We continue to top every new lead that begins to rise a couple inches higher above the rest, trying our best to keep each head roughly the same height as the other to create a nice even bush.
Lots and lots of topping.
DR.GRINSPOON was Fed again with 10 Liters of Veg compost tea.
Remember, she is still being fed by the Dry organic amendment that was mixed into her soil when last transplanted.
DR.GRINSPOON is outside still for the second week now. She is taking the change very well and bushing out beyond expectations.
Not a whole lot has been needed to be done this week as she takes in the organic amendment through natural watering as well as the compost tea applied last week.
June 19
DR.GRINSPOON has been moved into the 4x4x6.5 Flowering Tent with 656 Watts of Bloom Bulb LED
She was amended with Gaia Green Dry Organic Bloom Fertilizer 2-8-4 at HALF (50%) the recommended measurements and given 10 L of water. 1 L Per Gallon of soil.
DR.GRINSPOON was topped at all the tops of the main leads and placed under a SCROG Netting.
DR.GRINSPOON has adjusted to the tent phenomenally.
This week DR.GRINSPOON was watered with VEG Compost tea. Yes still Veg until 2-3 weeks into Flower.
Whatever minimal additional flowering nutrients it needs will be absorbed by the dressing of Gaia Green BLOOM amended once first placed into 12/12
As soon as one branch lead begins to rise from the SCROG, a few inches above the rest, We take it down and place it back under more netting.
NO MORE TOPPING ONCE PLACED INTO 12/12
Topping displaces plant hormone and may retard bud growth.
DR.GRINSPOON is very healthy this week, growth pace beginning to really rapidly pick up once again.
Continuing to position branches beneath the SCROG netting.
This Week we are adding in the FOX FARM Open Sesame liquid nutrients to help get some nutrients to the lower roots since the dry amendment can take some time and a couple watering before it really reaches the bottom.
We used FOX FARM Open Sesame at the recommended measurements of when being used along side other fertilizers. 1/4 TSP per Liter.
Since DR.GRINSPOON becomes very elongated and thin, we did not see it necessary to remove any buds or leaves from the lower section of the plant since light was penetrating just fine.
Also DR.GRINSPOON uses much of the nutrients within her leaves and can absorb up to 50% of the nutrients in the leaves back into the plant when yellowing naturally during flower. So it is a good idea to leave many on for her to uptake later on.
DR.GRINSPOON has had An incredible amount of growth over just the last week. She continues to impress me with the outstanding rate of growth which seems to far surpass other commercially available strains.
No Feeding this week, DR.GRINSPOON only received straight water, 1 Liter per Gallon of soil.
Summer is approaching and temperature is rising, the Blower fan was upgraded to a 440 CFM, trying to keep temperatures at in around 26, however some days it is between 28-30 Degrees C during mid day for several hours.
DR.GRINSPOON does not seem to mind the high temperature however and is doing very well.
I am no longer putting branches underneath the SCROG since this is my first time growing DR.GRINSPOON I am not aware of how elongated the branches become during flowering and I don't want any sideways buds that developed only an inch or 2 more before setting in position for true flowering.
DR.GRINSPOON continually stretching throughout flower at a rapid rate.
(One Mistake we had made was not putting a second netting just to support her elongated branches, At the time we were not aware of how much she would stretch during flower, which was nearly all the way until the end)
Developing lots of bud spots with thin leaflets allowing lots of light to reach down to the center of the plant.
Once again, just regular watering this week. No feeding, DR.GRINSPOON requires very little fertilizer.
Keeping watch at the tips of leaflets for slight yellowing that will let you know she has absorbed the maximum amount of nutrients the plant requires, DO NOT EXCEED feeding once noticed.
Lights were raised to maximum height in the tent which is 6 feet. DR.GRINSPOON has stretched up to within inches of the LED's.
LED's are very cool however and DR.GRINSPOON will exhibit no signs of burning, increased illumination at the peak of the colas will produce increased amount of THC.
@Pot_Portraits,Thank you very much. It has been a very exciting grow for myself. It was a strain we were after for a few years. You definitely will not regret it, the only thing you may regret is not getting the seeds before they are sold out! You will love it. Its a strain destined for true connoisseurs ;)
