Auto: Jack47 XL & Fruit

Hi there, so first time growing autos, first indoor grow after 12 years, first time on 250w lamp (that last grow was 2x1000w). Since i love JackH and AK47 for like 15 years, the first choice was quite simple JACK47 and although I know that XL version probably wont be good choice in 60x60x180 250w tent,but I just had to :) Also, I heard only positive reactions to Sweet Seeds genetics, so thats another reason .. There are 2x J47 in the tent.. As for the second strain, Fruit Auto, Dinafem this is just purely for my pleasure (not expecting big yields out of those). Also almost no one grows this strain, but thats not what it deserves, I've seen it under 400w and the final product was among some of the tastiest strains I've tasted for like 20 years of smoking .. And again, Dinafem is getting much love, so easy choice .. There are also 2 of them... So 2x Jack47XL vs 2x Fruit. The plan is: to LST the shit out of Jack so Fruit can be a bit natural.. Maybe just a bit of "pony-tailing" .. but I'll see how it grows first ;) Seeds were between wet paper towels for like 18 hours, then into the Root Riot cubes and after about 26 hours first one was already out of the cube with huge root coming out of the bottom... Then i put it into the final pot which are 7,6 litre AirPots (RootPots to be specific, but its exactly the same, except for different sizes avail..) So: one Fruit got above soil yesterday morning, followed by one of the Jacks in the evening .. Second Fruit looked up today and as for the last Jack I can already see the roots so I'll probably plant it as well within like two hours .. So 100% germ rate for both strains.. Only thing I'm battling with is humidity, even with humidifier I'm at cca 55% with the light on; when humid. isn't running its about 38% (it runs for 30 mins, then 30min not etc. because of small tank) And I was used to keep aprox. 75% for veg stage, so I just hope it'll be enough for autos ... I can keep it running nonstop for five days now, so thats probably what I'll do for the first week and just keep filling the tank every like 5 hours.... :) But after that I can only do one refill a day or two, so we'll see how that will work out .. No nuts for them so far, only water with few drops of Atami Root Stim.. Substrate is Atami Janeco Lightmix so for like 2more weeks we should be cool like this.. Let the fun begin ;)

Aprox. second week (depends on the plant) started .. Had to change the lighting to 18/6 because of some night noise complaints from neighbors ( I live in a flat).... I'll get speed controller for the exhaust cause that TT100 vent running at max speed is loud AF... Also I optimized the humidifier and vents so I'm getting 65% with humid on and 55 with humid off. I could also lower the lamp (10cm lower) as with the optimalization the temps got a little lower... And now to the plants .. Fruits are growing as I expected .. Lovely looking plants.. 1st is 7 days old second only 5, but both looking lovely, no prob. at all ... They are growing as expected .. I'll probably LST them a bit during the next week .. Jack 47 XL : not so cool so far .. Twins (5 days) are probably competing under the soil so they ale kinda smaller... I've seen that people are usually separating them or killing the smaller one .. But that's not an option. I cant separate because they are so close to each other and I wont kill one of them, because I just don't want to .. I'll leave them growing side to side and we'll see how that goes .. And then there's "yellow btch", First Jack to germinate (6 days), second seed overall .. After almost a week it's still looking the same : shitty yellow plant. She got treated like all of the other seedlings so I don't know wtf happened to her .. Looked like overwatering to me, but she didnt get any water for 5 days and the situation was the same .. Shes getting a little green today, but week stunned is week stunned .. Temps ok, humidity ok, soil felt ok as well I was probably unlucky with that batch of seeds, because one is not growing and germinated yellow, straight from the start and other seed is having twins :D But in the end, it doesn't matter and I wasn't even expecting that first grow will be 100% ok and I'm obviously not expecting 1,5g per W as I was getting with 2x1000w hydro setup.. We'll find out in a few days because although I'd prefer to have them all started at aprox. the same day, it's been only one week so far .. So yesterday I was like whatever and set another J47 seed for germination. After it'll have decent root(s) (I expect it in like 2 days) I'll replant that yellow btch into the 2L plastic bottle and leave it inside the tent just for fun (or maybe meanwhile she'll die by herself). And I'll plant that week younger seedling instead of her... I started growing again because of the love for it and cause I really missed it, not for the yield or for having everything automated, I just love all that work that's around this hobby... So minor complications wont make me mad, as they are natural part of the process ... :)

Starting Week #3 .. So far so good.. First week of nuts (half dose] and I did LST them a bit (after the photo) ... Fruits currently growing like crazy, looks like great genetics so far .. they're starting to branch naturally, currently growing 5/6th node .. Jack47xl : "yellow btch" is mutated AF .. I'm curious what will happen, re-potted her into small 0,7 liter pot, just for the "scientific research" :) Newbie Jack is a week younger, but already ahead of that mutant, so far it's growing nicely .. Twins are growing slower, but ok. I'm curious if they will live in harmony (new researches are indicating, that they should be able to live in symbiosis ) or it will be the classic battle of the roots ;) We'll see ... First day of week 4 .. Preflowers showed this weekend, I'm counting it from the day seedling got above the soil : Jack XL TWINS - day 16 Fruit 1 - day 17 Fruit 2 - day 16 Mutant Jack picked up and started to grow normally (no preflowers yet), dont know if I'll let it finish in the small pot or repot once again .. but if it'll give me at least 2-3gs in the end I'll be more then happy (and it will pay for itself :D ), because I was expecting it to die... They are also starting to smell, in the tent it's really, really strong, but carbon filter is doing its work so there is no smell in the living room at all. Newbie Jack trying to catch up that "lost" week :) They are really thirsty this week, I'm watering every two days now .. They're getting full veg nutes (+soilbooster every second watering) and yesterday they got root juice for the last time... Also, I'm changing the placement for them every watering, so every two days they are getting light from a slightly different angle ... This week was 10degrees more then it's on average at this time of a year, so I'm getting 31 C for like two-three hours (1pm-3(4)pm) every day now and I'm unable to lower it .. Rest of the day is ok .. Im getting 31,2 max 22 min but about 90% of the time it's at 27C. Next week everything should get to normal, so I think it's not a big deal .. Yesterday I also did a "big cleaning", I cleaned the whole inside of the tent as well as the trays under the pots. I'm used to do it like this from my previous "grower life" in big grow rooms 12 y ago, And I'll continue with this little tent as well because CLEAN ROOM/TENT = HEALTHY PLANTS !! Because of the preflowers, I'm thinking about last week under MH and I'll switch to HPS for the next week. I'll give them two more veg nutes, 3rd watering will be enzymes only and then I'll switch to bloom nutes. Next week I'll change the diary to flower...

So week 5 from seed and after switching to HPS 3 days ago shitstorm started .. Instantly after putting them under the HPS they started to droop and didnt come out of it in a few hours like Im used to . that sucks. Temps went through the roof and I'm now at 31-34 degrees when lights are on even with another Ram fan that I added blowing str8 to lamp., visible heat stress since today . that sucks. And they got little N toxicity so last two waterings were water only .. that sucks .. I completely re-arranged vent parts and now Im waiting for the results .. I'll see how temps will be tomorrow, otherwise there are 3 options for me switching TT100 for different exhaust inline ... Buying cooltube (+new inline cause I think that TT100 cant make it on its own) or going Led, which I think wont help .. So fingers crossed :D :D Jack47s is taking the heatwave worse then Fruits, so It's probably destiny that I wont get cute Jack mixed with AK ;) Newbie still isnt flowering but Im trying to LST the sht out of it :D (edit : showed preflowers on day 21) Mutant Jack flowering since yesterday and picked it up from that shitty start nicely now .. .. Fruit 2 when counting the LST part of stem is 48 cm high .. without just counting straight height from soil 28cm. edit: after three hours of changing the vents a bit and addition of extra ducting, temps are back at 27-28. Ill see in few more hours, but so far it looks that problem is solved and I changed it in the diary as well.. uf

Week 6 from seed and they are budding up .. That DR60 tent is getting really crowdy now :) Im so looking forward to the unplugging of humidifier :D Switched mixed vent for radial .. temps are much better now, I'm even getting as low as 23 for big portion of the day with the highest temps at 27 .. Because of those heat issues I applied silicon.. foliar feed + regular Newbie Jack + Mutant got their last veg nutes One Fruit looks like it's at least week ahead, although it isnt .. Probably from the heat stress .. Also I noticed that I have 2 phenos of Fruit, one being just a little bit more on the sativa side, not much but hopefully it will be enough for different flavor and high :) .. DInafem states 60-65 from seed .. I think that it will be just a little bit more, but IMHO that 1st fruit will def attack that 65 days .... And obviously Jacks are stretching more then Fruits .. Rest of them are just making me happy, although I would prefer lower internodes. But because of the heat I wasn't able to get the lamp to optimal 30cm until the purchase of the new extraction fan.. edit: last week I was getting like 60 db over night, so unacceptable .. After few changes and switching that inline and ducting for more isolated one .. Im getting 43-46 db over night and that is finally stealthy enough (walls in the building I live in should be able to isolate 53 db on its own) So I think that still the neighbors are getting a little bit of vent noise, but even my refrigerator makes aprox 10 db louder noise now, so I think thats def enough ...

starting week 7 from seed .. I was gone for 4 days,so they got little bit of light burn as they grew up and I wasnt there to get the lamp higher and they were a bit underwatered .. Also little bit of nuts burn on the Fruits, I tried higher dose, they seem to dislike it so after flush were back at std. dose. Jacks took it without issues, but they are still stretching and already taller then Fruits so they can take it ... Sorry about shitty photo quality, but its raining today, so the light is just weird ... Tried some macros, but my hand is shaking and the light sucks, so its just for the evidence .. But they are starting to frost nicely .. Fruits stopped stretching Jacks still stretching nicely Smell is getting stronger and if I press the bud a bit, then its like really fruity :) thx for the CF otherwise I'd be in trouble right now :D

Beginning of week 8 ... Lets start with heights from the soil .. FRUIT 1 : 34cm FRUIT 2: 38cm Twins JACK47 xl : 43 cm/35 cm Mutant JACK47 xl: 43 cm Newbie JACK47 xl: 48 cm Aimed at 40-50cm so I think that I can call that "close to the plan as possible" ... ;) Buds are starting to get bigger on both Fruits and twins Jack47 XL Fruits are having really sweet fruity smell when touched, like ripe wine grapes style, when I'm only smelling not pressing then its more fresh, almost like grapefruit .. Jack47s are pure citrus smell, maybe a hint of blood orange on the bigger of the twins and untouched smell is the same as when I press the bud just a bit lighter... As for the nutrients .. I'm thinking like two more doses for fruit 1, three more (so next week)) for Fruit 2 as they are getting closer to chop (and they already started to drink less then in the last few weeks).. Then big flush, two or three more waterings just with phd water and after that last big flush and it'll be ch-ch-ch-choping time :) Twins will get this treatment probably week later .. Fruits could be a bit bigger, but considering all the issues I prepared for them they are actually cute for the first time in new setup, being practically "testing pilots" for the next round ... Jacks47 XL .. after the mutant and twins I'm actually so happy that I popped the newbie seed aprox. week later, because I can clearly see now why its XL .. ;) its growing high and fast so it will be a good thing that hell be in a tent for at least last 10 days alone only with mutant in 2littre pet bottle :D But mutant will give some nice buds in the end as well, it just needed more time and twins are looking sexy and will made it lovely to the near end without any issues cooperating under the soil and it will be a lovely looking root photo afterwards ... That's about it for this week and I'll see U later.. :) edit aprox day 52.. that smell is driving me crazy, it takes all the self-control I got to not cut at least one bud str8 down :D edit 2 : I managed to get a picture few seconds after the lamp turn on .. starting week 9 from seed .. Buds are building; deficiencies showing :D Humidity went down to 25% as the outside temps went to 0°C and with the cold weather came lower humidity .. so I plugged the humidifier back in .. If they would have been all at the same stage as Fruit 1, I'd probably say fk it for that last week, but with the difference between Fruit 1 and Jack47XL Newbie, I needed to raise humidity back to aprox 45-50 % so that Newbie can take it ;) I'm thinking 7-11 days till the chop for the Fruit 1; 8-12 for the smaller of the Twins Jacks which is the frostiest one of all 5 of them; 12-16 for Fruit 2; 14-18 for the Bigger Twin Jack; 18-22 for the mutant Jack and I'm 100% sure that Newbie Jack will need at least 21 more days, I'd say probably more like 28, but we'll see ... ;) As for the nutrients/watering/flushing .. Fruit1 is getting flushed since today (not drinking as before, so I missed one watering per week because of that but it was on the 1/4 nutrients for the last week anyway, so not a biggie) ; Fruit 2 and Twins got their last nuts today. Mutant and Newbie will get full bloom nuts+double Macro part because of some minor calmag def showing on newbie and mutant. They'll get it like this at least for the next week, then I'll update that info ;) Macro is from that smaller Twins Jack47, one of the lower buds, as You can see the trichs are like 40% milky 60 clear (With like 3% amber stealing from both ;) ) so far, so we def got some time. Fruit is little better like 50-50 and Bigger Twin is all clear... I was always aiming at 10-20% amber 60-70% milky 10-20 clear for having that proper high that I like, so I'll stick to that... Sorry for only one macro and not even like super nice one, but my phone died after that one picture (didnt even get a second shot :D ) and I really needed to put them back in the tent and do something for my job like asap, so more frostiness will be updated in the middle of the week with the next watering.. edit: added few more macros when they where outside of the tent for the watering. In a few last days production of new pistils coming from everywhere almost doubled up for both Fruits and Twins Jacks And I have to change the smell to strong in the diary, because it's been really lovely for the last two days. Every time I open the tent it takes then like an hour to get rid of it ;)

starting week 10, still cloudy/rainy or cloudy/freezing but no sun, so we continue with shitty photos, this time I tried some flash ;) Trichs are still not there yet, so I'll give em few more days, probably gonna harvest Fruit1 and smaller of the Twins Jack47xl in the weekend, I'd say like saturday .. But both of them could be harvested without any issues already (5% amber70%milky25%clear) so we're talking day 63 which is exactly what Dinafem stated for Fruit and aprox. the same for the Sweet Seeds Jack47XL, but with one of the Twins it's because of that shared airpot, the other one looks like 10 more days will be more standard, but that would be around day 80 from seed which is still pretty impresive ... ;) They also started to foxtail a bit so I raised the lamp aprox. 5cm Feeding: Fruits and Twins Jacks47 : flushing; Jack47newbie + Mutant same bloom dose as for the last few weeks. Mutant will get 2 more nuts feeding then flush; Newbie will get 4-6 more .. Smell is driving me crazy, so i snatched one small bud from the more ripe twins Jack47xl like 3 days ago and quick-dried it on the top of reflector and I must say DAAAAAAMN, already so tasty, like sweet spiced lemon and 5 hits sent me "flying" for 4 hours str8, so really strong already. I'm so looking forward to the harvest ;) Also, I did a quick count and if I'll get at least 70g from everything combined, it will pay for it self (like the price I paid for the tent and equip + el. bill = is worth 70g from my dealer that I wont need to buy again ;) ) .... everything above is just a bonus :) And I think that I can already count on that it will be more then 70 .. My tip is 120, I was aiming for 125 (0,5 g/w) for this first/test grow so we'll see how close I can get ... Fingers crossed ;)

starting week 11 from seed Last week the trichs stoped getting amber so I moved harvesting Fruit 1 and smaller of J47XL twins by aprox. one week. They are still getting bigger so I think it was the right choice. Anyway, I already cut 2 smaller buds from smaller J47XL and 2 from Fruit1, just to see the difference in the high .. Only Newbie J47XL is getting nutes now, today I cut it to 1/3 strenght as Im used to, it will get last two nutrients waterings and then flushing as well as the rest of them .. Saturday is final day for Fruit1 and smaller of the J47XL twins, I wont be letting them go for longer, the trichs should've been there by then .. I only got like 3% more amber since last week update, so I think that that 10% amber will be there .. One week later then I thought, but still pretty early. It will be 73 for Fruit1 and 72 for smaller J47XL. Rest of them will wait for trichs, so I'm thinking at least one more week (+Newbie will take def 2 more) ;) Thats it for today and I'll post some harvest photos over the weekend... I'll upload that as week 11 harvest...

So in the end it is day 73 from the seed for Fruit1, and day 79 for Fruit2, really nice. Trichs on harvested buds were aprox. : Amber 8% Milky 80% Clear 12% which is exactly my preference ;) Easy to trim, easy to grow although I over fed, under fed, light burned, heat stressed, overwatered ... Basically all that could go wrong went wrong :D But all of the girls managed to get through my mistakes nicely, although I think that I could get like 20% better results because of all the stunned grow... I'll def run that last seed in the next round (which will be proper 1st round, this one was just to find out if it will even work in small flat in the living room ;) ) and then I'll buy some more ;) So in love with that taste, that gfriend even makes fun of me that when Im smoking it I make "bed sounds" :D :D edit: all weights updated. Fruit+J47xl together = 223 g ... Id say fkn success for test/first grow .. almost 0,9g/w which is excellent ;)

starting week 12 from seed I wont make any tips about day of the harvest anymore :D Fruit2 is still milky/clear, bulking up but found a little spot inside the biggest bud, where it was starting to mold, I cut it out and will monitor everyday, if it will spread Ill take it down .. Buds are much more leafy and hazey then Fruit1, didnt take any test bud from Fruit2 so far so I will be surprised ;) Anyway it still looks like at least one more week needed.. Mutant Jack47 started to get amber like a lot, probably realised that its old AF and should finish already ;) It wont be much, but that seed will pay for itself + few Gs as a bonus, my tip is 16g dry for this mutant .. but better then nothing ;) I took some test bud yesterday(8g wet) so will see and if its ok, Ill just wait for the soil to dry a bit and harvest. Twins Jacks47 are finally getting there, I also found small mold part inside the biggest bud of the smallest of the twins, so same as with Fruit2, I cut it out and will monitor the situation, if it spreads its getting down tomorrow, otherwise Ill wait for the soil to dry out (it takes 4 days now for the twins to dry as its not drinking that much lately) and then chop, trichs are almost there like 1-2 more % amber. Newbie Jack47 .. bulking up and growing ok, maybe its too close to the lamp, but its like 60 cm now (J47 not the lamp) so the space is limited ;) I'd say 2 more weeks for this later one, but again no tips, waiting for the trichs ;) .

Ill def run more seeds in the future.. def an XL performer. Stretches like crazy in the beginning of flower, make sure that you have enough vertical space .. Smells like crazy and tastes beautiful .. Id say more Jack then AK, but that really doesnt matter ;) Lovely strain. Im counting mutant as 0,5 plant, because it was only in 2l bottle ... edit: all weights updated. Fruit+J47xl together = 223 g ... Id say fkn success for test/first grow .. almost 0,9g/w which is excellent ;)

Its start of week 12 (again :D ) for the "last man standing" or "daddys little monster" :P aka Newbie Jack47XL, as it is aprox. 7 days younger then the rest of the girls. I think that I'll harvest it sometime between saturday - next wednesday. So it will be day 79-82 harvest from seed... That day 82 is last day that I can have tent in the living room and running, otherwise I'll be killed by my Gfriend :D Deal was everything will be harvested and tent hidden in the bag untill 25.11 so as you can see, Im already few days over .. Was able to get one more week because I put gfriends tomatoes in the tent, they're almost finished as well and that argument saved my ass (well, newbies ass, but whatever :D ) ;)
