This is my first seed from my Fastbuds prize from back in May (thank you again! 😀), and I have really been looking forward to trying this strain. The seed cracked quickly using a glass of ph'd water followed by paper towel in ziploc. She sprouted from the soil (soil/coco/perlite mix) within 48 hours and (with a little help) dropped a perfectly split shell. She stretched a bit at first, but seems to have evened out and looks good.
She is growing nicely. Leaves are perfect, no curls or deformities. I loosely secured the main stem until it thickens up a bit. Forgot to mention last week that this is my first grow using a fabric pot.
She is growing healthy and strong and creeping towards the light. I have seen no sign that the short distance to the light is causing any problems, but I am going to increase it back to about 20 inches today. Increasing water gradually as she grows. She showed her first preflowers on day 20. I will top today or tomorrow.
I topped the 6th node at the beginning of the week and did progressive LST through the week. She did quite a stretch at the beginning of the week and while bending the main stem I ended up with a crimp I was trying to avoid, but it does not seem to have had any ill effect. I think she is starting into her flower cycle proper now and she is already producing a strong weedy smell.
This week, having harvested my Magnum, I moved the 150W cob light over the lower tops (hanging lower than the light over the higher tops to try and keep everything even), so now have about 270 true watts over this girl. Gave a light feed of PK 13/14 in the second of three waterings this week. Things looking good, tops forming well.
Growth continuing well and purple/pink colours are starting to show. Lower shade leaves seem to have a progressive paleness happening, so gave cal/mag but don't see any change there.
Can anyone identify what is happening with the lower shade leaves? A progressive, patchy paleness, from the spine of the leaf outwards and sides of leaves are cupping downwards. I gave cal/mag twice through the week along with bloom nutes. Is this a deficiency, small container..?
Its just cannibalizing herself for the stretch. So she needed Nitrogen, and took it from the lower leaves. Thats no big damage. Go on with your calmag/ it contains Nitrongen) and the damage dont gets harder. Try to get another Light for the furthr flower, because she has alack of light. And for getting bigger buds you may need bigger lights... happy growing
The stretch has stopped and I can see that the buds are starting to fill out. Trichome production has increased and the purple has spread further down the bud leaves. I have decided I am not happy with the cob light over the lower buds, but I will go into that at the end of this grow.

This week the buds continued to fatten, the purple darkened a bit and the smell got stronger. I flushed twice. By end of week trichomes are about 25 to 30% amber, so will harvest in the next day or so.
I think this plant grew well. I was almost euphoric when the colours started to come out - my first purple strain. The smell was apparent in flowering but not overwhelming. The next step will be to get a more powerful light. I am happy with the Meizhi brand of LED and will likely get the next biggest one of that brand. The CFGrow cob LED light is disappointing. I don't think it lives up to the manufacturer's claims and it is probably best used as a supplemental light. Final dry harvest - 13.1g bud, 4.1g trim.
