Got a great deal on a couple Crop King strains at a local shop, there were only a few auto's left so I decided on Early Miss and Northern Lights.
Early Miss is a Big Bud x White Widow Indica dominant hybrid.
This seedling was pretty lanky so I figured I'd take a shot at doing some low stress training. Transplanted at 10 days to 12" Hercules pot and pinned it down.
I am starting to notice new growth every day, I always feel they are off to a slow start but this one seems to be as far as any other plant I've done by day 15.
I took a lot off the top of this one over the last week, the bigger leaves up top were blocking out all the light. I think I might have hit her a bit too hard with the noots on the last feeding before switching over to bloom, she looked a little stressed for a couple days but seems to be bouncing back now.
This one has been blowing up over the last few days. I trimmed a lot of big stuff off the top last week and she has bounced back nicely. All my girls seems to really like the Remo nutrients since making the switch.
Seeing nice steady growth over the last couple weeks. It, like my Northern Lights have been suffering under a 45w LED while my two Cheese plants hog the tent and the good lights. I need to refine my rotation so I don't have so much going on at once... or maybe just get another tent. New lights arrive in two days, so I can stop using the weak set.
She has shot up 7 inches this past week! I believe this is partially due to the cramped conditions in my tent at the moment. Hopefully she starts to produce over the next few weeks once my big girls are out of the tent, development has surely been compromised due to being choked out from the good lights for so long.
I actually thought I'd have my light situation fixed by now, but due to a poor choice in LED's I am in the return process at the moment. Anybody have Viparspectra LED's? Just wondering about your personal experiences with them, grow quality, quality of lights etc. I purchased the smaller 300W Viparspectra LED to use as a supplemental light and found it to be mostly just really bright white light. The diodes look to be different colours, but the light cast just seems white, even looking at the back of your hand an inch under the light. I have no other way to measure PAR levels so this is all based on gut feeling. I've added a picture of the Viparspectra running side by side with my MarsHydro Reflector 96, you can really see the difference. I am just waiting for the return to process and am ordering the Reflector 48 to complement my existing light.
Well, I just got my new supplemental light today, a MarsHydro Reflector48 to complement my Reflector96. This plant and my Northern Lights spent way too much time under weak light. Despite that, this one has been doing pretty good over the last couple weeks, I'm starting to notice new bud growth every day now.
Couple weeks to go and I'm hoping to see these buds start to fatten up soon. I'm worried too much time under my old weak lights is going to reduce my harvest... Guess we'll see. On the other hand, I really like my Bluelab meters. I think I have my root zone pH problem under control. I must have had nute lockout, she was getting purple stems and some other symptoms of deficiency's. After a week of stable pH at the roots she's eating again and is looking much healthier, the purple stems are fading too.
Looks like we're coming into the home stretch, It's not quite packing on the bud meat I'd like to see... Still probably another 7 or 8 days left so I'm hoping for the best. I really don't think I'm going to get a high yield from this one.
I'm going to give her a few more days still, we're not quite there yet. Doesn't look like I'm going to pull much off of this one... but we'll see. There are a few really nice dense nugs.
All in all not a bad strain to deal with. I had some challenges with this grow that were environmental, so I won't try to blame the genetics. I see the potential for a really nice yielding plant. There are still four more beans for this strain, so we'll see what the next one's bring.
I'm pretty happy with the harvest, ended up pulling some nice fat nugs of her. It has a nice lemony scent to it.
This grow definitely had it's challenges, I was way overfeeding it which led to all kinds of problems. It still has some decent size buds despite everything it went through.
I ended up getting my Bluelab meters 7-8 weeks into this grow which helped get things under control, just maybe a bit late.
It went 80 days and I'm sure she could have went a couple more, I know it doesn't look quite ready. I could make some shit up about how I had to do it for this reason or that.. but the truth of the matter is I'm almost outta weed and I hate spending money on bags. So, chop chop... smoke report and dry weights to follow!
Update: I ended up with 65.5g dry bud weight and about 20g of trim.
@Squirrel_Master, really? Interesting! I think that's breeders main issue or hurdle, stabilizing different phenotypes when they hybridize strains. Hats off to all of their hard work to bring us the fire we need to get baked! :)
@CAMOGROWN, Possible the Sativa is just a little more dominant. My Candy Cane had Indica, Sativa and even little three leaf Ruderalis leaves on it, a little bit of everything going on. I have four more beans to go so we'll see what the next one's look like.
@Squirrel_Master, yeah I know the feeling, I took animation in college and make short films so I just made this another project lol editing is the most time consuming for me lol
Thanks @Cannabisqueen, yours is pretty awesome too! My wife and I spent around 24 hours over four days making all the decorations and the video.. it was a lot of fun to make, hope it pays off! Good luck to all!
Lovely looking harvest mate and love the honesty I hate spend cash weed aswell especially when I have on go all time .😀 How long you got the cure on for .
@DaGrowQueen, Thanks, I never really paid much attention to this strain... it sounds kind of unassuming. I did a little research and had to try it though.
Got a ViraSpectra same wattage and just looks white your right. Works well for my veg side of my tent running both switches. But for flower it may help a bit just increasing the ppfd in my small 2.5x3 with another platinum p300 works well
