Veg, day 12. I received the ordered wattmeter and heating mat. I measured the consumption of my HPS-250, with and without the condenser. I also checked the consumption of the LEDs. After measuring, I discovered that instead of the FS LED 1.2 matrix, I turned on the FS LED 1.1, which is next to the CW LED 3.1. I decided to leave it that way. I want to use the mat to warm the incoming air into the box if it gets cold. Also, for drying the buds, as it can maintain a stable temperature around 40°C. For now, I opened the window and placed it for testing. With an outside temperature near the box of 16°C, the box holds around 25°C, and in the coco, it's 22°C. This is much gentler and more efficient than an oil radiator. The mat consumes 55-57W. Sensor - Average - Min. - Max. I sprayed my plant and lowered the lights another 3 links, i.e., to the 10th. A good growth speed is already visible, and the leaves have turned a beautiful green color. ras Veg, Day 17. Today I watered the coconut and sprayed it with a nutrient solution. Looks like I caught a slight nitrogen overdose, possibly due to the relatively low temperature, since it's a sativa strain... I decided to turn on another LED1.2 matrix to add some heat and light, thus speeding up the nitrogen consumption process. So, a total of 150W. Veg, Day 18. For technical reasons, the data from the sensors was recorded with the wrong date for a while, so it's missing from the report. I decided to turn off the Cool White supplementary light and keep the 2x50W FS LED1.1 and LED1.2. So, the current light power is 100W FS. And I raised it from the 10th link in the chain to the 5th, or from 30 cm above the plant to 40 cm. That's why the webcam shots took on a toxic pink-purple hue. Veg, Day 19. Last night something went wrong and we lost power. The heating hasn't been turned on yet, it's 16°C outside the box, and not much higher inside. In short, the plants were in the dark from 12:00 on 2014-10-22 until 00:00 on 2014-10-24. I thought they would freeze - they were quite wilted, sad... I didn't even take photos so as not to wake them with flashes of light; better to let them doze - less stress. Veg, Day 20. Before turning on the light, I hung the lamp even higher, on the last link in the chain. And I think the little snow maiden liked it - she stretched her leaves upwards. After turning off the light, I sprayed the patient with water and did a small flush of the coconut with the working solution. The readings are incomplete; there was a gap during the day... I was messing around and accidentally touched the wires. Sensor - Average - Min - Max. With such lights, it's probably better not to work without glasses. Though I worked under the HPS with glasses too. Vega, Day 24. I cut off the two lowest branches, along with the starter leaves that have already served their purpose. I placed the branches in a plastic jar with water on the floor of the box, near the hydro setup. It's a more or less shaded spot. The next trimming is planned for a few days later, when there are 4 internodes on the side branches. I also sprayed with SM solution and carefully trained (gently(!) bending in different directions until softened) the stem and branches. From the webcam shots, you can see how the branches rise back up within 3 hours after training. By the end of the "day," they are firm again. Without the ice - these are photos taken a few minutes before the lights turned on. From the photos, you can see that the leaves are healthy and quite green, and then you can see how the ice distorts the image. Tomorrow, after the lights turn off, I will take photos for comparison to see how the leaves have greened up. Sensor - Average - Min. - Max. ras I checked the clone right after turning off the lights. It's alive! So it will recover. I set up a light on the windowsill for the future mom and covered it with paper on all sides. The temperature near the pot is around 20°C.

ras After 5 days of pre-flowering, the most interesting part began. Flowering, day one. Clones I cleared out the section for the mothers, put in a 20W CFL, and placed a pot with a clone closer to it on the box. I also sent an unrooted clone there. The light schedule for them is currently 24/0.

ras The second clone has rooted and was transplanted into coconut. I rinsed the coconut with tap water beforehand and then watered it with a solution acidified to pH=5.9 (1ml pH Down per 1L of water). After that, I squeezed the coconut and watered it with 40ml of the solution made from 20ml of working solution and 20ml of acidified water. I decided to go with a 50% dosage right away. I measured the leftovers (~4L) of the solution before watering: pH = 6.0 TDS = 880ppm Ts = 21.7°C and after: pH = 5.9 TDS = 890ppm Ts = 21.3°C.

ras Today, at the start of the light cycle, I decided to add more coconut. After that, I thoroughly watered the entire substrate. And I measured the parameters: pH = 6.2 TDS = 970ppm Ts = 21.4°C. I calibrated the pH meter since the readings had drifted by 0.2. Also today, I decided to water the coconut in the cups with clones. I took a third of the main solution from the tank and diluted it with acidified water at a ratio of 1 to 3. The resulting solution was: pH = 6.0 TDS = 770ppm Ts = 22.3°C. I watered the cups several times, slightly flooding them and allowing the coconut to soak up the water. I measured the output: pH = 6.1 TDS = 618ppm Ts = 22.1°C. Later today, but during "night" time, I decided it was time to change the solution. There was very little left (drained 2L), and it had clearly done its job. ras I defoliated the largest leaves under the net, which provided about twice as much light penetrating down (just by eye, of course). I also removed some leaves at the growth points of the main stems. And I got rid of some completely unpromising growth points along with the leaves. These are the ones that just started to pop up and don't have the appearance of buds, just emerging foliage. I measured the solution parameters in the tank: pH = 6.0 TDS = 835ppm Ts = 22.5°C In 5 days after the change, the salt concentration in the solution dropped from 880ppm to 835. And there's about 5 liters left, meaning half has been consumed. Good appetite. Let me tell you a bit about the plant itself. The branches are much thinner than the jack-47 under the HPS. But they're strong, hard as bass strings. The breaks heal quite quickly even during flowering. The smell at the beginning of flowering was very powerful; just opening the box immerses you in a citrusy aroma. And if you touch the stems and leaves... Now the smell has become less intense and has changed a bit. And here are comparative photos from the last cycle under HPS. Strain Jack-47, indica - 25% / sativa - 75%.. [29.06.2014] Day 57 (Flowering, day 17) So, the same age and the same day of flowering. It may seem that the plant under HPS is more developed, but in reality, it just stretched out. Under LED, even with 100% sativa, this didn't happen. And this is considering that I kept it until flowering in a nitrogen-rich solution. To the untrained eye, the buds of the 100% sativa under 100W LED are denser and more developed than those of the 75% sativa under 250W HPS + 20W CFL (cool white). Moreover, the solution, until the last change in this cycle, is the same in both cases. I'm really liking the start; let's see how it goes from here. The specifications of the new filter are as follows: Weight without carbon - 2.3kg Weight with carbon - 11.3kg Volume of carbon - 13l Weight of carbon - 9kg Length - 39cm Diameter - 20cm Thickness of carbon layer - 5cm Naturally, it's a bit oversized, but this was done on purpose for longer operation without changing the carbon (I don't like that procedure). Made it together with my wife :)

A couple of questions. 1. What’s your humidity?! Looking at the watering, there can’t be under-watering. It seems like the humidity is down to 20%, which is causing the plants to droop their leaves. You need about 60% humidity. On the other hand, this could be a sign of "over-watering." If the leaves break off easily and fragily. That is, you should add an aerator to the container, or you need a humidifier. Also, set the watering on a timer, maybe with a less frequent schedule. 2. My plants also started curling from too much light. And this is happening quickly and at an astronomical rate. Try reducing the light by 50%. See what happens. The excess is obvious. By the way, mine curled up and died in a couple of weeks.

Humidity is normal, I try to keep it above 30%. Overwatering is also unlikely since I water "manually." Plus, after each watering, I loosen the coconut a bit with a wooden stick. Drooping leaves - yes, probably because I lowered the light too soon and too low. I'm experimenting, watching the plant's reaction. LED is new to me, so it's interesting to check everything out. The report is experimental, the point is in the experiments and conclusions. I realized this at night and raised the light by 10 cm. Does it make sense to use 50W instead of 100 for now? Considering that I want to make 3 more trims and the plant is already on day 10 of 12/12.

Great report, and it's quite scientific too, well done. It's nice to have something to watch. Plus, it's a good way to gain experience. Yeah, if you have the chance - lift it up, I think it won't hurt at all. The lighting situation turned out poorly. After such a drop, all mine hermied. Although the development was already in the final stages. It happened one more time. The plants showed their sex, and after the timer messed up and it was on 24/0 for a whole day, all the plants hid their pistils and showed them again after 2 weeks. I think everything will turn out great. Huge respect for the report!

Thanks There's practically nowhere left to raise the light, it's hanging on the last link. But it seems fine, the temperature with heating stays around 27°C during the light period, which is normal for this strain. And the leaves are reaching for the light - so they’re not being pressed down as much. One missed light cycle shouldn't cause any issues, it's not even trying to flower yet. Overall, under a 100W FS LED, the growth rates are at least as good as under a 250W HPS, and maybe even better. At least the side branches are developing faster in the same period, but it's hard to compare directly since the strains are different.

Great report! It's interesting to read and very convenient! The main thing is that everything is clear. Tell me, have you tried not cutting the main stem, and what's the difference with trimming? I've never trimmed, I just always stretch the main cola further and further, bending it until the end)

Yes, of course I've tried. The distribution of bud mass on the branches isn't very even. That's exactly where trimming comes in - to make all the branches as close in length and thickness as possible.

The clones are currently on the balcony, just under natural light. I can't see any roots yet, but they're alive and healthy.
