Okay okay okay, first round is now over and drying, time to nurse these little ones back to health and start the next round! I'm giving the plants a couple day to adjust into this tent & new light, then moving into bigger 18L pots I picked for this round. Had problems with botrytis last round and not looking to catch that again, cleaned up the tent and everything that had been inside the tent with a cloth and cleaning solution. Might try trellis this round, not sure yet.
I checked the runoff EC of the plants today and noticed that the coco is still too salty for the plants, gotta flush with water a couple times to get the growth going. Plants slowly rooting into the big 20L pots, slow and steady it goes.
Starting flowering, plants not the happiest but will see how this goes.
E: Found out why the plants were unhappy, my digital timer had reseted itself and plant only received my random hand waterings during the first week. Duh, I feel so dumb at the moment, anyways plants starting to look better and better each day. Might have to move a couple plants to another tent to get the girls some growing space.
18.10 Okay, killed the one pheno I have been saving for like 5 months or something, that girl just kept on stretching! Installed a trellis for the girls, one black pheno on the left also kinda stretchy, gonna try to tame her down during this next week.
20.10 Noticed plants are a little lime green so I gave them a extra drop of Cal-mag. Keeping my eye on how it affects the plants.
24.10 Taking some cuttings today to save the green & black phenos, also giving some clones for a friend since he wanted to try Malibu.
Okay, week 3 beginning. Checking my notes from the earlier grow diary to see what ive done last time to bring up any valuable info I might be forgetting. Did a heavy bottom trim to the girls, only leaving the most crucial parts of the plant at the top.
Now that the plants are slowly slowing down the stretch, I will start to up the nutes up little at the time, slow and steady!
Pumping up the nutes to 1.4 EC, seems like the plants dont mind at all. Tent filling out slow but really nice, no complaints! Might experiment with a tiny bit of PK13/14 during this week, since the buds are starting to develop
Started experimenting with low doses of PK13/14 about 4 days ago, plants seem to be digging it so I can slowly start raising the amount im giving to 0.5ml/L from 0.25ml/L. Took out the other 10min flood out just to see if it matters at all, trying to achieve better watering cycle.
Starting the week with 1.6ec in the reservoir, next time the res needs a fill up im going to start cutting the nutes back, this is where the old grow diary comes super handy! I can just check what I did last time and try to copy and use that with this grow. I like it a lot.
My 5x5 tent is moving into late flowering and didn't need all 4 of the QB's so I grabbed the middle one for this tent, as a little extra light. Keeping my eye on the canopy temps, don't wanna let those get out of control. Nugs are fattening up nicely, we still got time to go but I like the way the looks like when I open up the doors ;)
16.11 Res now at 1.2EC, starting to slowly reduce the amount of nutes the plants are receiving. Defoliating coming up at day 42.
21.11 Defoliated the tent, still left some fan leaves in there but removed so much. Now more light reaches the bottom nugs of the plants + added airflow thru the tent.
23.11 Day 44 What's good?! Plants keep on thriving and I keep on lowering the EC. All good n rolling like it should here.
25.11 Day 46 Calibrated my PH & EC meter today, seems like those were off by a little. EC now just below 1.00, PH is at 5.8. Keeping my eye on the nugs, I dont want to catch any mold late in flower, but now I got RH well in control (50-55%).
30.11 F51 Been super busy with my other grow's 5x5 going down, finally had time to check the res and it was almost empty but no watering skipped so caught it just in time. Dropping the Canna Coco A+B out of the feed, going into water + enzymes mode. I think the dual QB is a bit too much for the plants, gotta keep some more clearance for the plants in the future.
4.12 I think im going to do a res change now that I wanna run water + enzymes only. Tank res is somewhere at 0.7ec, I wanna get that down close to zero from this day on.
I ran out of Boost & Mammoth P at day 58, going with just Cannazym added to the water for couple days before I get refills. Adding the second light made nugs shoot out more white pistils, now currently at day 60 its looking like this run is way slower compared to last round with far red pucks inside the tent. I swapped res 3 days ago, just making sure that PH stays in range for the rest of the grow.
BTW Sorry for the shitty yellow pictures, I was trying out my new camera and looks like I still gotta give it some time. Rest of the photos with my trusty phone camera.
Day 62: Boost & Mammoth P are added to the tent at normal dosing, checked some trichomes and saw some amber ones, mostly still cloudy. My guess would be that the plants are ready at day 65-68. The middle plant, green pheno got blasted by the lights, desided to chop that up and removed the second light from the tent.
Green pheno is still drying, looking at trichomes it seems the plants need a few more days, waiting patiently. EC 0.28 PH 6.1 in the tank, my tap water is 0.18 EC. This run is way slower than the earlier one, im sure ill be using far red pucks in the future grows to shave extra off the flowering days.
Chopped the rest of the plants at flowering day 66. Time to hang the plants and start cleaning up the tent.
I already knew that these cuts of Malibu Pie were stretchy so no surprise there, really solid nug structure, if it wouldnt stretch that much it would be nice for scrogging. I really started to like this strain now that I have two rounds behind me, thinking of maybe running something with malibu pie crossed, who knows what the years will bring. Harvest was nice, and also one reason I still have some nugs left. Nugs have great bag appeal and taste is super pungent. Good strain overall, just need to know the cut and give it a good veg.
