Hello everybody and welcome to this new diary of Congo (fem) by Ace Seeds ! I wanted to try this strain for a long time now so here we go ! Also, my first time using coco ! Setup is : - 70x70cm Mars hydro tent (not the best quality but I needed those exact dimensions) - TGL 100 cob CREE 3590 (3500K). I'll only use one in veg and 2 in bloom. - Ugro Coco choir with slow time release organic amendment from Guano Diffusion (and perlite) - Winflex TT Silent-M 125 UN R1 340m3/h - Bullfilter Day 1 : all above ground ! The two on the top showed a bit earlier than the other two. I plan to keep them in those small cup for a few days before switching to 3.5l containers. Day 2 : Doing good I guess ! They took about 3h of sun, that's why they are kinda bent, the photo was taken just after taking them back in the tent Day 3 : steady growth. About 8h of sunshine today. I think i'm going to stop putting them outdoor when its sunny and just keep them indoor. Day 4 : still fine, 20ml of water each. Day 5 : Good. I transplanted after taking the picture. Committed twice the same stupid mistake, I broke the coco cause the roots were not deep enough to hold the coco so the two from the bottom lost a lot of roots during this process... What a dumbass ! Next time I'll wait at least a week before doing that.Hopefully they will recover. Day 6 : good growth, they seem a little bit upsetted by the transplant tho. Day 7 : good growth except for the two at the bottoms who seem to suffer that bad transplantation. See you in week 2 !

Week 2 has seen some good growth ! As it's my first time full coco I haven't dialled the watering yet. Seems like they are a bit suffering from that, normally they are a bit darker. Also not a lot of suspense on which ones im gonna keep, the two on the bottom wont be able to catch the others...My fault for that failed transplant ! The keepers (on top) seem to be of 2 different phenotypes with the one on the left looking already more sativa with longer inter nodes while the other on is squatty and bushy ! I hope I'm right as it would allow me to discover both sides of this Congo. See you in week 3 !

Nice growth this week also. Getting better at watering because they seem healthier now, darker green on most of them. Im trying to LST and I removed one leaf on one plant cause im trying to "open" them as they are really bushy. Its not beautiful to watch but should be effective haha. The internode is really tight especially on the top right one. Not sure of when I should add the second led. Overall I'm pretty pleased, I plan to leave them one more week in those pots before transplanting. Normally I'm supposed to keep only two... See you next week !

Hello ! So this week has seen some difficulties. The plants have kept growing but with the leaves being constantly droopy, yellowing and overall not so healthy looking. But I can't pin point whats is/are the deficiency going on. I've decided to transplant them into bigger pots as it might help them to get fresh nutrients. In addition to that I've crushed a biotabs in each container to help fix the problem faster. Since then they seem to be better even if it's not perfect. Im just going to keep the two healthiest one in the smart pots. Not sure yet if i'm going to get them a full week of veg or just a few days. If you have any ideas of what can be the issue thank a lot for your help !!

Any idea what's going on ? The plants kept growing (slower tho) but droopy leaves and yellowing/pale green. Some have spots, as you can see on pictures. Also some purple/reddish branches/ The constant (temperature/pH/airflow) are undercontrol. Thanks a lot !

Hello buddy,I grew one last year.I had almost same thing at some point. It's most likely lack of N a bit but don't worry about it as upper part of plants look pretty healthy.Parts closer to the light always seem darker. You can try increasing nitrogene a bit. When you switch to 12/12 or else, keep giving N at that ideal dose for a few weeks into flower.I see you are going organic.Nutrients you use may have calcium and magnesium but if not mix some calmag in to your feeding. This plant is so N sensitive.Even if you give the minimum amounts it can have that claw looking tips.I would just add something like Fish Mix(biobizz) but it's very powerful so add only a little.as for purple branches,it's all normal.Mine had it also.Nothing to worry about,it's genetics.End product of this strain is extraordinary.just switch to flower and see whats going on.cheers

A very good week finally ! Since I re pot them and gave extra food they are very healthy and vigorous. Great colour and very good growth. I LST and defoliated almost everyday and the next day they were pushing like nothing happened. Very good side branching, now let's see how much they stretch after 5 weeks of veg...Surprise surprise ! Let's bloom !

First week of bloom but so far no sign of blooming/stretching really, just a small change in color. Hope I dont have any light leak. Otherwise the ladies are really fine, did some defoliation and LST but beginning of next week I'll re-do some cause damn the are bushy !!! Just watering with plain water.

Looks ok ! Did stretch a bit but not a lot for now, LST doing it's thing I guess. Slowly starting to flower, more pistils coming to the party ! I might have the start of some deficiency but I cant pinpoint which one... On the lookout ! On day 16 I did a good defoliation and LST and since I'm trying not to touch it too much especially not removing leaves and just bending a bit. In a few days I might have to redo some serious bending/defoliation. If only I could have more space, it's a bit tight in here. See you next week !

Hello guys ! The stems/branches continued to grow this week but I think we're near the end of stretch which was quite moderate. Bud formation is starting just right now at end of week 3 with the beggining of bud formation especially on the one at the bottom. Smell is coming as well, hard to pin point, maybe floral/berries ? I've lightly added some bloom amendment/top dressing to prepare for the transition to generative phase. Overall they seem pretty healthy and happy :) even if it's not perfect. ! I hope that we're truly entering the generative phase, the most exciting part ! See you next week.

Hello ! So this week is a little more complicated ! First I have to deal with a deficiency, but I dont know which one. I've added some more bloom nutrients and half a biotabs and it seems to be a little better but I'm really not sure that everything is under control. Also the one on the bottom is truly starting to bud and trichrome production has started off pretty good, the one on the top not so much... And I can see some weird yellow things popping up... Not sure if hermie or just strange calyx but I'm watching this very closely. I've inspected her and for now I can't clearly detect "balls" or "bananas" but I suspect something fishy is going on in this bush... Wait and see. I hope I'll be able to keep this grow under control but it's far from ideal for now. At least there are little progress on the budding process and even if the smell light it's a delightful one : fruity/mango/floral. See you soon !

Hey guys ! Any idea what type of deficiency it is ? The newer leaves are lime/pale green, spreading to the older leaves. So top to bottom. No spots, no rust. Thanks :) !

@CrokuDodu Hi there buddy if you can provide some calmag ph'd to 6 or thereabouts this will eleviate your plants need for magnesium and nitrogen. Ignoring deficiencies at this stage will only slow down the maturation of your buds

Hello guys ! Some good and some bad this week ! There is still one or multiple deficiencies going on, can' tell which one and can't tell why but the leaves' colour is not as I would like it to be... The budding is not crazy right now, although the one on the top is doing better (she also seems less affected by the deficiency), I'm afraid that those deficiency are going to hurt the yield. On the bright side : thricomes coming in and the smell is great ! Also they both seems to be "purple", which is kinda cool looking ! See you :) !

Hello and welcome to the sh*t show ! So the deficiency is getting worst on the plant at the bottom of the pictures... I can't find out what's going on, it's not a calcium issue as I use tap water and the problem spreads from the top to bottom...Same goes for magnesium. And the pH is in check. I'm feeding with some acti vera to help a possible deficiency in micro nutrients as it seems unlikely to be a NPK deficiency. An excess blocking something ? Maybe. I've pretty much gave up on the one on the bottom which is sad but I'm tired of searching ! A shame cause she's getting frosty and her smell is gorgeous but bud are not getting bigger at all, very low progress. The one on the top is doing a bit better, less affected by the deficiency and stacking some decent mass but with less trichomes for now. Well it's my first try in full coco organic, I guess there is a learning curve for me !

Hello ! Lot of work, did not have much time to care and take pictures. So the on on the bottom is fading day by day, im gonna let her do her thing. Buds are fluffy and filled with leaves, lot of larf and popcorn... Smells very good (sweet/berries) and a lot of trichomes. One on top is doing ok and budding alright, way more dense. Smells good also (citrus/floral) and some nice trichomes as well. Think Im going to end this grow at the end of week 9 as I'm going in holidays and I want to start a (hopefully) better one soon. Kinda like to harvest a bit early anyway generally (clear/milky).

Hello ! Fading out, smelling good, packing a bit of weight, a lot of trichomes, not everything is on the wrong side this week :) ! Clearly not a success by any stretch but could be even worse... We'll figure it soon enough as I'm going to chop them next week ! Cheers

Here we are friends...Harvest time ! I'm going to cut them tomorrow morning after 9 weeks of flowering. The one on the top : trichomes around 70% milky, tropical/floral smell leaning on the citrus side I'd say. Buds are quite dense, some foxtailling going on, very frequent on sativas. On the bottom : trichomes around 50% milky (a bit early but no choice), heavy tropical sugary smell, remembers me of dried mango, exquisite. Fluffy buds, lot of leaves... I did not perform well on this grow, especially on the crop at the bottom. I will update with "harvest" when dried and tested. Cheers !

It's surely a great strain but I was not able to give her the correct treatment. A lot of deficiency appeared along the grow, first time trying coco + 100% organic was not easy for me and the yield and quality were clearly affected. None the less : - Still gave 120g of bud - Great taste and smell : berry/tropical/flowery/sweet syrup, hint of citrus here and there and it's only 2 week of curing. - Effect : mainly head high, not as active and euphoric as I was expecting but it still pretty cheers you up for the first 2 hours and then you feel relaxed and you can sleep well. - Was very resistant to my bad treatments. I can only imagine that with a great grow this strain would be insanely great.

It was an interesting grow despite the clear lack of success. I think coco + 100% organic nutrients require some skills. I surely acquired some along the way so it is what it is ;) . Thanks to all !

now that's fiiiree!! beautiful.tons of great buds.grow was great too, seriously.reading another congo review is exciting.I've got 1 more congo fem seed and tons of what I've got off of my buds,I just cant take risk of not germinating but that feminized one will surely find its place in next grow.Great work and great fruits, very well done mate.Same strain, same nutrients except composts and stuff, close reviews.I enjoyed this diary and hopefully you'll enjoy Congo. 🙌👊

@HighRoller909, Hello and thank you for your message :) ! If you compare them to a few weeks back they are a lot less green than what they used to be. A light/lime/pale but almost fluorescent on some leaves, kinda hard to describe. More or less the same problem I had on my previous grow. But maybe it's no big deal or normal that they change their aspect... We'll see ! Thanks again
