I am excited to be up and running again with a new location. The seeds from this grow are a total mystery as far as the strain. What I can tell you is it came directly from Exotic Seed and the two seeds were loose in my envelope containing my prize from a grow a few months back. The bag contained completely sealed packs of Herz OG, Gypsy Widow, and Blue Monkey. So these two bonus seeds sprouted and I am going to experiment with this (hopefully) ladies. I moved to a much better location in So Cal which has plenty of outdoor and private space. Just a couple miles from the Pacific Ocean so I will be preventive be treating my outdoor plants with sulfur and BT to prevent mildew. I plan on growing in Coco and also outdoor dwc. I dropped 6 total beans for this run and will separate each one into it's own journal except for these two as they are the mystery strain(s). Currently 4 seeds have popped and are in my general nursery area with my other herbs and lettuce seedlings. My nursery light is a 7 in 1 light splitter from Amazon with 5 x 100w (9 actual) leds in 5000K. I have used this same light to grow many herbs and lettuce from seed to harvest and it will be great for their first week or so. Then the California Sun will do its magic. I know this is a real late outdoor planting but it's all for fun and experimentation. Hoping it will be similar to a 12/12 from seed. 9/21 only had 7 gal fabric pots on hand. Filled with roughly 5 gal worth of "expert" brand coco coir found in cubes sold at Walmart for $5 and when expanded makes enough for around 15 to 20 gal worth of pot fills. Worked awesome for my basil, catnip, tomatoes etc. Added about 20% perlite to the mix. Placed out in the sun today for first time as well. Should get about 8 hours of direct sun and gradually decreasing as the season progresses. First feeding will be tomorrow. I rehydrated the coco with tap water ph to 6.0 with 330ppm. In all honesty, ,I do not expect to succeed with this run. Outdoors, fall outdoors 85+ humidity at night more for shits and giggles cause I got my phone wallet keys. 9/22 fed first meal

The mystery strain is coming along nicely for young plants. Weather has been great and sunny. Going to fabricate a polycarbonate roof to place over top of the plants. They are getting direct sunlight currently from 1030am to 615pm with overall sun up hours from 620am to 645pm Day 12 fed homebrewed tea. (4 gal RO water, 2 cups EWC, 3 scoops great white, 3 tbsp of back strap molasses brewed 48 hours at 72°F) also fed my hydroponic lettuce, herbs, and soil tomatoes.

Day 14 Treated the plants with wet table micronized sulfur (high-yield brand) at sun up. Where the sulfur spray droplets dried, it concentrated the sulfur. Humidity swings galore with 40 day to 80% at night that even with sulfur preventative treatments, I'm probably going to be screwed. Treating once a week so new growth stays protected. Setting up a new room in my attic space. Temps stay 65 to 80 with RH 40 to 55%. Have a few beans dropped for the room. 2 HLG 288 v2 Rspec panels and a meanwell h320 1750a driver in route. Building modular dutch bucket system for the new tent. Going in a 2x4x7

Day 22 treated with weekly sulfur spray for WPM prevention (spots on leaves is where the sulfur pooled and dried). Stems started to fatten up a little this week. Watering to runoff about every three days right now. Day 26 Santa Ana winds coming thru, humidity plummeted to 7% this morning. Watered plants at sunrise to try and raise their local humidity. Day 27 fed hydro tea Day 28 weather returned to normal humidity levels

Day 29 Gave weekly sulfur treatment, which I will change application methods once flowering begins. She really started stretching last few days and thus LST has begun on Vince, Mikey is still a few days behind. Want to ensure plant stays below balcony wall height. They really seem to be enjoying the warm sun, no signs of any deficiency at the moment. Day 30 fed hydro tea Day 32 looking great so far, no deficiency/burn. Been feeding to runoff as needed (when pot gets light)

Day 36 vince has really started stretching while Mikey is staying a little smaller. Days are getting shorter and just over 11 hours of sun up right now. Both are showing female "preflowers". Having another dry weather spell and potential 90s next few days. Keeping an eye on weight of the pots for watering. Day 37 @ 1PM its currently 92°F with 20% RH Day 38 watered. Its 86F and 27% RH today. Switched to tap water with base of 330ppm. Switched to TNB naturals dry pH down. Measurements list for TNB are grams/gal not ml/gal. Day 39 another hot dry day again. 92F 10%RH Day 40 another 91F 16%RH day. Plants seem to be tolerating the heat ok. Growth is really picking up. Adjusted and added more LST points to Vince, Mikey finally got its first tie down. Day 42 Day 42 71F 47%RH much cooler today but it will be short lived and back to 80s tomorrow.

Day 43 after a week of 87°F + with sub 30% rh, weather should be a bit milder this week. 80F 21% currently at noon. Great growth considering the dry weather and looks to beginning to flower any moment now. 7 gal pots getting watered to runoff with 2 gal of solution every 2 to 3 days, basically when the top layer of the coco gets a little dry. Day 45 74F 7% rh. Humidity has plummeted again. Normally around 40 to 50% has been steady under 30%. Not much I can do to fight nature outside. Added ArmorSi for silica. Day 46 Flowering officially under way Day 47 nights have been much cooler bottoming out at 51°F humidity still sub 35% Day 49 weather has been milder. Mid 70s day low 50s nights. Rh avg 20% day 45% night. Nice amount of budding sites developing all over the plant. Nice node spacing and branch structure.

Day 52 high humidity nights last few nights. Supposed to get dry and warm again. Plants were a bit parched and were watered right after photos. Day 55 pots were very lite, fed to extra runoff

Day 57 Sun up is about 10.5 hours right now with about 6.75 hours of direct sunlight exposure. Flowering slowly but probably due to the short window of direct sun exposure. Day 59 high night humidity has me a little worried but nothing much can be done about it. Possibility of rain in a week so may have to figure a roof to keep direct rain water from pouring in. Its California so it will likely not rain. Day 60 ordered cheap portable popup hoop house for the potential upcoming rain. They are developing their scent. Vince may be a blue monkey as it has the classic blueberry smell going on while Mikey has a citrus lemon spice going on, both are quite nice.

Day 64 popup tunnel should be here today and will set up to protect from rain. Placing small fan in tunnel to keep air moving blowing around the plants but not direct. Day 66 placed cover over plants, rain is inevitable. Day 67 raining 57°F Day 68 rain stopped, 65° outside. Removed cover, but rain is in the forecast for next week. Day 70 dry warm day 75F 35% but cool night is expected.

Day 71 rain predicted 100% for 2 days this week. Cover going over plants tomorrow. Will be cold in the low 60s high and mid 40s lows. It's been dry last few days with sub 30% rh. Day 73 Cold and rain showers 52F Day 77 been a very cool rainy week. Trichs and Terps have really boomed. Plants will stay in hoop house, more rain predicted next few days then should be in the clear for a while. Vince is a very very forward sweet and sort of super glue smell. Mikey is more of a citrus forward scent with sweet berries.

Day 78 sun up just about 10 hours daily. Winter temps are creeping in. Plants in a small hoop house make for difficult photos. Both Mikey and Vince have really started to glisten with trichs and can be smelled 2 houses down 😁🤔. Thankfully I have chill neighbors. Day 80 no pics today, 59F and pouring rain Day 82 found small patch of bud rot and weather conditions are deteriorating. Following the advice of several fellow growers on here and have decided to harvest early as to not lose the whole crop. Plants have been cut down, harvest report after drying is done.

Week 12. Harvest

Happy Harvest Day!

Even a couple three weeks early, the smoke quality is pretty good. The buds are fairly lose and lots of exposed dead pistils from being harvested early due to a bud rot infection. Unfortunately I had to throw away several of the larger buds that got hit with rot overall I would estimate I lost a little over a third off the two plants. Buds where dried over a 7 day period and placed into mason jars. The initial effects come on cerebral with a short lived rush that just mellows out into a nice body high. One decent size bowl and I was good for 3 hours. Taste from both plants are a pine citrus berry with the berry lingering on the finish. Can't wait for a few weeks of cure to see how it matures.

I accepted the possibility of diseases when I started this northern hemisphere grow in September. Plants grew beautifully in the sun until late nov early dec and the weather went to shit. Lots of high humidity cold nights, plants covered in morning dew. Placed in a hoop house to protect from a bunch of cold rain that pretty much went 6 days. Ended up with bud rot on 3 out of the 4 plants. I had to fully toss out one plant, one exotic came out unscathed (Mikey) and Vince lost about half her buds. I am 100% thankful to have the final product I have even though they just really starting to fatten when they were cut down.

@Ga4rd2en0er, I’m in Aussie and it is sweltering here!! Good for the plants but I would love a couple of those cool days just for a break. We are also experiencing a record drought so I collect as much rain as I can when it rains, then have to go back to filtered tap water,, which the plants definitely don’t love as much. It hailed the other day and I ran around the yard like an idiot collecting hailstones for the girls!! Cheers

@Shooey, it's going to be 45 to 55F for the next week. They seem to be trucking along fine and their scent is rapidly increasing. Not sure if it's the cold or the last few weeks before harvest. Spotty chances of rain so keeping them in the hoop house for now. Thanks for stopping by!

@JinksyGrows, thanks jinks, bud visual quality is lacking but the smoke is great. Wish I could have have got the extra grams and density the last few weeks bring but very happy to have what I atleast salvaged.
