9/15 She popped up yesterday and is currently in my mixed use nursery area. When her roots shoot out the cube, will transplant into coco and place on my balcony to grow in the sun. Currently just getting tap water at 330 ppm. Will switch to RO when it comes to feeding time. Currently under DIY grow light containing 5 x 100w (9w actual) 5000K standard LED bulbs in a socket splitter.
9/21 placed in her forever home. Only had a 2.5 gal pot left over after my other plantings. Filled with "Expert" brand coco coir from walmart. 2 gal is less than ideal but I have plenty of experience growing in small pots and frequent waterings. She is getting about 8 hours of direct sunlight at the moment.
9/22 fed first meal
Day 9 - she seems to be enjoying the sun. Weather has been great and sunny. Going to fabricate a polycarbonate roof to place over top of the plants. They are getting direct sunlight currently from 1030am to 615pm with overall sun up hours from 620am to 645pm
Day 12 fed homebrewed tea. (4 gal RO water, 2 cups EWC, 3 scoops great white, 3 tbsp of back strap molasses brewed 48 hours at 72°F) also fed my hydroponic lettuce, herbs, and soil tomatoes.
Day 14 Treated the plants with wet table micronized sulfur (high-yield brand) at sun up. Where the sulfur spray droplets dried, it concentrated the sulfur. Humidity swings galore with 40 day to 80% at night that even with sulfur preventative treatments, I'm probably going to be screwed. Treating once a week so new growth stays protected. Setting up a new room in my attic space. Temps stay 65 to 80 with RH 40 to 55%. Have a few beans dropped for the room. 2 HLG 288 v2 Rspec panels and a meanwell h320 1750a driver in route. Building modular dutch bucket system for the new tent. Going in a 2x4x7
Day 22 treated with weekly sulfur spray for WPM prevention (spots on leaves is where the sulfur pooled and dried). Stems started to fatten up a little this week. Watering to runoff about every three days right now.
Day 25 preflowers appeared and stretching has begun.
Day 26 Santa Ana winds coming thru, humidity plummeted to 7% this morning. Watered plants at sunrise to try and raise their local humidity
Day 27 fed hydro tea
Day 28 weather returned to normal humidity levels. Growth has sped up tremendously.
Day 29 Gave weekly sulfur treatment, which I will change application methods once flowering begins. She really started stretching last few days and thus LST has begun. Want to ensure plant stays below balcony wall height.
They really seem to be enjoying the warm sun, no signs of any deficiency at the moment. Minor caterpillar damage, may treat with BT if its compatible with the sulfur.
Day 30 fed hydro tea
Day 32 happy and healthy as she grows
Day 33 Flowering has started
Day 36 she is in flowering but the stretch is not as great as the last thc bomb auto I grew out. Sunup time just over 11 hours right now. Having another dry weather spell and potential 90s next few days. Keeping an eye on weight of the pots for watering.
Day 37 @ 1PM its currently 92°F with 20% RH
Day 38 watered. Its 86F and 27% RH today. Switched to tap water with base of 330ppm. Switched to TNB naturals dry pH down. Measurements list for TNB are grams/gal not ml/gal.
Day 39 another hot dry day again. 92F 10%RH
Day 40 another 91F 16%RH day. Watering her every other day right now. Staying smallish in size but flowering is definitely underway.
Day 42 71F 47%RH much cooler today but it will be short lived and back to 80s tomorrow.
Day 43 flowering coming along with lots of budding sites for such a small plant. From size and structure, guessing somewhere in the 30 to 56 gram range at harvest.
Day 45 74F with 7%rh. Dry weather continues. Added ArmorSi for silica.
Day 47 nights have been much cooler dropping to 51°f with humidity sub 35%
Day 49 Day 49 weather has been milder. Mid 70s day low 50s nights. Rh avg 20% day 45% night. Seems very happy with her current feed schedule.
Day 50 flowering slowly as she goes. No def signs and weather is much better than past couple weeks of heatwaves.
Day 55 pot was extra lite, fed to extra runoff
Day 57 watering every other day. Sun up is about 10.5 hours right now with about 6.75 hours of direct sunlight exposure. Flowering slowly but probably due to the short window of direct sun exposure. She is definitely a runt pheno. Last THCB auto I grew went over 4 ft.
Day 59 buds are starting to swell outwards finally.
Day 65 very odd bud development going on with this one. It's all over the plant not just one or two stems leading me to believe it's some sort of genetic mutation/defect. It almost looks like a dr grinspoon in some ways. Since it only costs a few cents per week in nutes, I'll finish it out to see what happens. If I was paying a light bill for this I would cull.
Day 66 placed cover over plants, rain is inevitable.
Day 67 raining 57°F
Day 68 rain stopped, 65° outside. Removed cover, but rain is in the forecast for next week.
Day 71 rain predicted 100% for 2 days this week. Cover going over plants tomorrow. Will be cold in the low 60s high and mid 40s lows. It's been dry last few days with sub 30% rh.
Day 73 raining and 52F
Day 77 cool rainy week and plants will stay in hoop house a few more days then should be in the clear. The foxtail buds are trich covered and has a fairly strong sweet pine smell to her. Hopefully another 2 weeks and she'll be done.
Day 78 sun up just about 10 hours daily. Winter temps are creeping in. Plants in a small hoop house make for difficult photos
Day 80 no pics today, 59F and pouring rain
Day 82 found small patch of bud rot and weather conditions are deteriorating. Following the advice of several fellow growers on here and have decided to harvest early as to not lose the whole crop. Plants have been cut down, harvest report after drying is done.
This plant feels sativa dominant. The buds grew strangely from the beginning and it was uniform all over the plant so it must have been a genetic thing. The buds are covered in trichs and the effects come on cerebral quickly with a very energizing sensation. Great for day time activities. Taste is almost pure pine at the moment.
Buds were hung up to dry for seven days I a dark room.
After a couple months of cure, the taste and aroma has morphed into a strong sour citrus.
Bud rot infected the garden so I had to cut her down a few weeks early. She did lose 2 larger colas. The plant never fussed about food but her buds grew so strangely, like I haven't experienced before. All buds on the plant looked like this so I am assuming it's a weird genetic thing. She stayed small as well and definitely the runt of the litter.
@Ga4rd2en0er, yeah man and me the reverse lol see with the powder the technology is simple you spray spores onto the plant and hopefully some of them will germinate into bacteria that will survive the lights long enough to reproduce, during an outbreak you want to spray upwards of 3 times a week in peace time you can apply the bt every 10 days or even once a month depending on how well they take hold, and they do take hold : a very virulent thing it is BT & BTi !
@Ga4rd2en0er, "carrier solution" you mean when you mix the powder with tap water? that's the only stuff i know about and i use myself. the way mine works is i mix the greyish powder with tap water then i use that in the feed and as a foliar spray an hour before lights on and a half an hour before lights off (works better at night because the spores dont like the light) ...
what is this sulfur bro? i usually add mag sulfur as a spray and in the feed but later and mostly for flowering as that's when the sulfur is used ... spray at sundown in veg, no reason why not if you think about it and it's much easier than waking up 1 hour before the sun does 🚀
@Ga4rd2en0er, ah wow interesting, had no idea, i usually use beneficials to combat such things but i'll look into the sulfur thing, thanks for the infio btw ! 👊
@CRiSPrGrow, spraying sulfur to try and prevent powdery mildew and downey mildew which is rampant in California, especially coastal regions. Sulfur is an old school method of preventive. I can apply it as a dust which is what I'll try next application.
