Moving into week 4 started mainlining some are a little young for training so will have to start training next week, couple of clones were taken. We are trying different bucket colours, 1 row with tinfoil tape, 1 row white and 1 row black. Let's see if colour really affects growth.
I can't remember if I noted last week that we topped all the girls, we been applying training with some bent metal hangers to some of the plants, let some naturally grow and lightly pressing some down every day. Looks like the wired training did the best but you may take a look and decide,
This week we made all the solution in one reservoir to ensure uniformity through out all the buckets,
First we mix in the micro, bloom, flora (in that order), add calmag then HP down to 5.8.
We pushed up the lights to 800w mid week last week, this was done during the day and checked for heat stress but it looks like they like the power.
Heat seems to be an issue, got a 25 cm or 10" extraction fan and a normal fan in there but it doesn't seem to help, going to have to look into that issue.
We will wait in veg this week, then next week will be the first week of flower 🌸. Woop woop, I'm so excited!!
I'm so glad to have you all with me on this journey!
Ps. For any one paying attention there are 3 types of buckets and no I'm not just broke, lol. I read contradicting reports on the colour of your buckets affecting your grow, soooo.. Row 1 is foil tape covered, row 2 is white and row 3 is black. Looks like black is taking the lead but only time will tel, place your bets below :)
The growth is incredible, I think the roots have healed from the soil to the hydro... Root porn included :)
It looks like the early training really helped with the trained plants showing more vigor and drank alot more water.
Talking about drinking more water with this flower week, I think I will top up during the week, I read about kratkee (how ever you spell it) method but I'm some what dubious.
I also found I was adding cost to 10* the correct amount of calsium so I have amended that. Which there was a way to findout what is still in my water and just add back what the plants ate..
Anyways the girls look a little small but hopefully with a little luck they will grow into giants,
Ooooh by the way the black pots are leading the pack regarding growth of root and leaf...
Any bets on white or silver making a come back?
Hi all,
It looks like I might have mixed up. I only got to flower the ladies last week Friday, so actually it's been 2days not 2 weeks....
That being said, they are looking amazing and have really grown into some real beauties, I hope the don't stress too much this week, was a little heavy handed with the nutrients.
We will start bringing down the dose this week.
As un professional as it is to add another grow to this log, an interesting thing happened my clones outaide the tent started to flower, normally this wouldn't be a thing but we are still in early summer. The hydro store say its due to the heat wave... I'm not convinced, what do you think?
Anyways just to wrap off this dairy entry, the second consideration I have to make is what to do with the fan, at first it just blew the tops not it looks like the whole plant is in a hurricane.
I'll move it up alittle I think, let them grow into it.
Peace
Hey all,
The growth is ridiculous, I would have thought the plants to have grown taller but numbers don't lie, ledd than 10cm growth,
The plants are much much busier, the ms reading is also extremely high but I think this has to do with the calsium, for some reason it pushes it way high.
Otherwise I dont seem to see any deficiencies, some of the leaves are starting to curl, I'm sure due to nitrogen toxicity. This week we dropped the n to half should fix that.
At this point the top growth doesn't seem to have much growth difference between white and black buckets... Other than much stronger roots in the black buckets.
I think I am going to work on the lights this week, rise them 20cm and increase output from 800w over 2m squared to 1200 over 2m squared
