@mr_h_kovert, for me #1 is potency, then smoothness, and flavor is really least important. It is nice to have the them all rolled into one package though if I can be greedy! haha
What a successful adventure!! Cheers to your big balls and tiny brain because I am about to try this as well with a very small gorilla glue plant a friend gave me.
GG is one of my favorite strains por potency but sometimes it is a tad harsh and so the neighbors can hear my greedy husband choke after filling those vacuum lungs and the smell is so strong it's difficult to hide what hes doing.
The plant is small so it wouldn't be a big loss but perfect for experimentation.
If you have any suggestions I'd gladly accept.
Great job and thanks for sharing your work
@MomnPoppaSeed, you trim them wet and immediately put them in the water. After 7 days in the water I put a fan on them for about 8 hours until the outside of the buds felt dry. After that the buds dried out really fast
@Wicked_Stix, well I found the aquarium heater so my GG is going in the dark.
I have a dry rack I'll use for the dry but do you recommend a fan? We live in high humidity so I don't like to risk powder mildew.
@Wicked_Stix, yeah I'll just use RO water, plenty of it under the sink! Fortunately this room is climate controlled so I'll just stick the bucket in the tent with the lights off, she'll sit right around 70 degrees F at all times :)
@Jwjoh, if you want smoother smoke then this is the way to go. I think the trick is to keep the water the right temp. Not too warm or too cold. I used RO water the last 4 days
I know that this is strange to say but I love to see those little brown tips on the leaves of my plants.
Poppa says that means I've given too much nutrition and need to back off.
To me though, it just means that she has gotten the exact amount of nutrients that she needed.
It may not be as attractive to others but to me it's a beautiful thing.
In the end once dried, we will never know they were there but until then it's a great way to determine she is actually absorbing the proper amount without over feeding.
Maybe I'm wrong but that's just how I feel.
You already know that your grow is awesome so I wont bother elaborating about her beauty once again.
Happy growing
@Wicked_Stix, right, it's not the "perfect " flawless look but in the end fuck the looks we want flavor, potency, and a lot of it !!
And this is exactly why we push them to be thekr best just like all good parents.
As for mastery, I think this is one of the most relaxing, rewarding and forgiving way to spend our extra time and energy.
@MomnPoppaSeed, I totally agree. When I see a little too burn I know I have maxed them out on nutrients and that is where I like to keep them. It is definitely a balance of pushing them hard but not so hard that you fry them. I definitely learn a little every grow and hope to get it mastered in the next 20 years or so haha.
@Blueboy2019, This is my first time trying it. You trim the buds wet and store them in distilled water at 65 to 70 degrees for 3 to 7 days. You change the water once a day. I'm doing 7 days then just dry them completely and they should be ready to smoke. It is fast and it is supposed to give a really smooth clean burning smoke. I will definitely keep it updated with progress on how they turn out.
I've never heard of this method of drying but I love the concept.
Another reason to love photo period plants.
Because we can get so many free plants from one and of course they're so hearty that they can take abuse from our mad science experiments.
Keep posting Gromie!!
@MomnPoppaSeed, I will update with the results of this. It sounds crazy but there are enough good reviews of the method that I think it is worth a try.
Awesome! Gotta love some experimentation. I'd love to try some different drying and curing methods. There is a modified (?) food dryer out there called the My Herbs Now dryer and people get good results with it. Some of the best result I had personally was dried in 3 days under the CMH on 12/12. So I don't believe that hang drying it for X days is the only way.
I know some people who used to ship buds across the border, they used water curing because it was fast and smell free (especially for shipping).
Nice chunkers btw =)
@BillMonroe, Thanks man! I have done a lot of reading on the water cure and couldn't find anyone who tried it that said don't do it so I guess we will find out in about a week.
