We are now 11 weeks in to growing these two gelat.og strains from seed and 4 weeks into flowering, we still have a long ways until harvest but they're inching higher as we speak. Perhaps, too high. These two plants are still in their flowering stretch and they still have about a foot of growing space until I have to worry about them being too close to the lights. Hopefully the plants only grow up a few more inches and stay put into growing its buds fatter instead. In this log I'm going to be explaining mostly about my future plans on mainlining next grow.
I've noticed a few other grows on this website showing short bushy plants done with a focus on just one plant growing many fat colas and yield out good weight quickly with manifold techniques and high stress training so I might do a one plant grow using the mainlining technique since I now know the limits on how much I can stress a plant when training and defoliating, all the while with this current grow, I tried to train it the best I could with only a limited space available but the canopy still didn't come out as even as I thought it would so I will be trying this after I start my first auto flower grow which will be interesting since many have told me to start off growing indoor with auto flowers yet I still chose for photo periods to be able to observe how different phenotypes react with the most key elements of training, hoping to try to understand and implement some of what I know on my up and coming grow.
Back to these plants, theres nothing much to cover in this log besides for some thoughts for the future grow and a few points to mention. They're finally producing some frosty trichomes around the buds and on some leaves, even some near the stem of some fan leaves still growing near the top which looks real nice against the hue of purple on their stems. The smaller healthier plant has not produced any color changes on its buds but they still remain the most healthy as well as developing a good amount of trichomes. I did some very very light defoliation on cutting off leaves that were covering smaller short growths hiding under the canopy, also fan leaves that look like could be blocking light for the smaller growth sites under the main cola on each branch. I'll be defoliating one more time on the 6th week of flowering when it gets into mid flower. I'm still going to follow the same nutrient formula for another week until I feel they've grown into mature enough to lower nutrient measurements and keep alternating between nute feedings and plain pH waterings like last week, the plants seem to love that. Until next time!
Congrats on the successful harvest. Those are some beautiful buds. Been sitting on a few packs of these but after seeing this I may need to bust them open. Nice work my friend.
Hello my friend I have a question what week did your gelat OG plants start producing trichomes? I’m currently in flower week 4 and I have NO trichromatic production
@Gutismoke102, Hello buddy, sorry i took too long to respond, i'm starting a new grow this year and just logged in after a long time. You should start to get trichome production around that week if not later, if not then I suggest giving your plant more bloom nutrients to speed up flower maturity, best of luck!
@JohnnyLong, thanks for the heads up but theres no option to list a switch to 12/12 as a technique, yet oddly I can list it on a separate week log, so thats what it means..
