2nd grow currently underway, 1st is in the 5th week of flowering and I decided to add another tent to do a perpetual grow. Just bought a 3x4 multi chamber tent and I am utilizing the 3x3 area to veg. I may have to use the entire area to veg these plants as they get bigger. I will hopefully be putting 6 of the strongest females into a 5x5 tent to flower. I am using General Organics nutes and distilled water. I was using RO water on my first grow that is in flower but got tired of having to use so much CalMag. So far, things are looking great. All 13 seeds popped and are healthy. Exotic Genetix - Rainbow Chip Genetics - Sunset sherbert x Mint chocolate chip Regular seeds (non-feminzied) Flowering time - 8-9 weeks 2019 Michigan High Times Cannabis Cup 1st Place Hybrid winner Veg Specs Secret Jardin L120 3x4x5 Multi-chamber tent HLG 135W-4000K QB V2 LED (will probably add another) Fox Farms Ocean Forest soil Flower Specs Heavy Yield 5x5x8 Grow tent (2) HLG 320W XL QB V2 R spec LED First week in tent. Seedlings stretched a little before my new light and tent got in but are looking good now. Currently have 11 Rainbow Chip and 2 Lime OG going. Hoping to end up with at least 6 females (hopefully all Rainbow Chip) to transfer to my flowering tent. One Rainbow Chip had some yellowing from over watering right after transplant. Hope these genetics live up to the hype!

Day 9 - Lights were lowered about 4 inches so they are about 28 inches above. All are starting their 3rd set of leaves. Day 13 - Didn't take a picture this weekend but have doubled up on the water. They are sagging though so I think its time to transplant. Will be going getting 3 gallon pots tomorrow. I will also be switching to a light schedule of either 20/4 or 18/6 if anyone has any opinions. Day 14 - Plants perked up a bit overnight. I started these seeds in root it sponges and I was reading they hold a ton of moisture even if the soil feels dry. I stuck my finger down the cup and felt a wet sponge even though the dirt was dry. I may have overwatered them. I also didn't see much of a root ball so I think I may hold off on transplanting for a few more days to let the soil/sponge dry out so the plant can grow it's roots more. Thanks for viewing!

Day 15 - Still have a few drooping so I don't think I'm going to water today. Next time I water I will start feeding. I am also changing from 24/0 to 18/6 on lights. Other than that, things are coming along just fine. Day 16 - Plants finally got their first night session. Probably should have started sooner to help root growth. I watered a little bit today and started adding some nutes. I am using the entire GO box and started at about half strength. Hopefully some of these will perk up because I still have 3 or 4 sagging. Day 17 - Checked them this afternoon and most were drooping really bad so I decided to transplant. Good thing I did because they were root bound. I was pretty surprised because I read about people keeping their plants vegging in solo cups for 3 to 4 weeks and I have seen much bigger plants in pictures. I filled the new container halfway with soil and soaked that. I then transplanted from the solo cup, added some more dirt and gave them a light feeding/watering. Hopefully there will be progress in the morning and I have 13 happy plants. Day 18 - The plants look fantastic after the transplant! All but 2 have perked back up and those 2 have significantly improved, all in just 12 hours. Probably won't be watering/feeding today but I am very happy to see that the transplant fixed the issues. Day 19 - All have fully rebounded. Looks like I have 1 runt on the left but 12 very healthy looking plants. No water today, bottoms are still a little damp. Day 20 - No changes. Will post photos tomorrow. Day 21 - Growing very well now. Looks like most are starting their 6th set of leaves. I noticed roots coming out the bottom of all plants so I will probably get some 1 gallon smart pots to transplant into this upcoming week. I will also be topping them soon.

Day 22 - Week 4 started with a feeding/watering last night. A couple of plants were starting to droop just before bedtime. I mixed up 1 quart of water with the nutrients listed above. Each plant received about 60ml of the solution. I decided to give them another 60ml of the solution again tonight, just enough to get some runoff. I was planning on topping these plants but Mike at Exotic Genetix suggested SOG so I will probably just let these grow naturally. Day 23 - Steady growth continues. I definitely have some different phenos in here. A couple are tall and lanky while a couple others are short and bushy.8 Rainbow Chip 11 has an issue with how it's leaves are growing. It has been a problem from the start. Is it from overwatering? Could it be a bad seed? Day 24 - I moved them to 2 gallon smart pots today. Was a little short on soil so one still needs to be transplanted and 1 is topped with some leftover coco I had for starting seeds. If they don't show any signs of stress tomorrow, I'm going to attempt to fim them. Day 25 - They were looking good after the transplant so I attempted to fim 11 of them and topped 2. I'm interested to see how many I successfully fimmed. Day 27 - Nothing to update on yesterday. Split 1.5 gallons between them all today. They also received 75% of GO recommended feeding. Some growth is starting to appear from the fim. The 2 I topped are also looking good. Day 28 - I am at the end of week 4 and hopefully halfway thru the vegetative state. Looks like they are already over the shock from topping/fimming and have started to grow again.

Day 30 - Nothing to report on yesterday. When I was checking to see if my fimming went well I noticed my first 2 males, Rainbow Chip #6 and 9. #6 was bushy and very stanky so I'm sad to see it go. It looks like I might have messed up on a fim or 2 and may need to hit them again but I'm no expert so I'll wait another couple days. Day 32 - Found another male today. It was another nice bushy one but that's how it goes. Looks like 2 of my fims are unsuccessful, but they were both the Lime OG so I think I may just let them grow as is. The botched fim seemed to have tightened up new node spacing so it was not a complete failure. Plants are looking thirsty so they will be getting 1.5 gallons between them again, along with 15ml of bio thrive grow, 7.5ml of bio root and 5ml of bio weed. Day 33 - No male sightings today, I actually think I see some pistils showing so that's good. I bent the tops of the Lime OG and will heavily train these throughout the grow. Day 35 - Still growing steady. I'm gonna FIM Rainbow #5 again. I missed that one apparently and it's been the strongest plant from the start. Gave them all just water yesterday. I order some 1x1 cube pots. This way I can fit 9 - 7.5 gallon pots in a 3x3 area. I have 10 plants right now so I'll have to make a decision on Friday if no more males reveal themselves.

Day 36 - The 3 that I didn't top/fim correctly were fimmed today. They were growing too tall and I don't want thay much variation in size. Other than that, they are looking great. My flower tent has multiple strains in it currently and I have 1-3 weeks left on those. That should be perfect for getting these to the size I want. Day 42 - Was out of town for a while and came back to some great looking growth. Found another male that I had to toss but I also noticed females are starting to show their sex. I transplanted 2 into larger pots because they were starting to show signs of being rootbound. The rest will be done in the next few hours. These new pots are great. They are still fabric pots but they are 1x1ft square pots that hold 7.5 gallons. Because of their square shape, I can fit 9 - 7.5 gallon pots into a 3x3 tent compared to 5 - 7 gallon smart pots.

Day 43 - Week 7 is here! I transplanted all the plants last night and boy are they happy today. All are pointed straight up and looking fantastic. I only gave them some water to get the roots going but I plan on giving them a good feeding soon. I also posted a photo of a female who has clearly shown her pistils. Hopefully won't be finding anymore males Day 47 - Not much happening this week. Soil is still moist at the bottom so no feeding yet in the new pots. I finally got some co2 so I'm pumping it into my flower tent and then exhausting that into my veg tent. This helps keep my veg tent warm, circulates the air along with adding co2. My ladies in the flower tent are in their 8th week of flower and I just found out they could take up to 12 weeks (very possible with how they are looking) so this tent is going to get crowded. I will have to open up the seedling section and add some more light. I think I'm going to buy another 120w quantum board from hlg. Day 49 - Week has has come to an end and growth is really picking up. I think its safe to say that they really like the co2 and heat exhaust coming from my flower tent. I have super cropped and done some minor LST on a few. I will do some serious LST in the upcoming week.

Day 50 - Supercropped one that it appears I unsuccessfully fimmed both times. Probed soil and it's still a bit damp so no water today. Day 51 - Split 2 gallons of water/nutes between the 9. I need to get the 2nd light ordered so I can open up the tent and spread these out. The 2 in the back left are growing like a tree instead of a bush which makes me think they are the Lime OG, but I'm not 100% sure. Im thinking I mixed up my labels when I transplanted. Day 55 - Growth is still good. I did notice a few leaves with rust like spots appearing. Can anyone help identify what this is? Would some calmag help or does is it look like a fungus/disease? Hi guys, I'm hoping I can get some more help on my grow. I noticed these rust looking marking on some leaves. It's not spotting but more of patches. I have been using the general organics line and just got feeding up to 100% of their recommended dosage. I have a flower tent next to my veg tent. I started to add co2 to my flower tent 10 days ago and I was exhausting the air from my flower tent into my veg tent. It helps keep temps up in my veg tent and allowed me to supplement both with co2 pretty easily. At night time, I exhaust both tents passively with no c02. These spots are appearing primarily on the plants which are right below where the exhaust comes in from the flower tent. Are these spots from a deficiency or are they from a disease/fungus caused by the environment I created? I did run out of co2 the other day and I am waiting for more. Meanwhile I am still exhausting the flower tent into the veg tent during the day time. Could this be causing the problem?

Hi everyone, I am getting some rust markings appear on my fan leaves. They are not spots but more of patchy lines. Can anyone help identify the issue I am having. It is not on all plants and I have given a much more detailed report in my weekly entry explaining my situation.

The brown markings that you are referring to are due to a calcium deficiency. Which is also why you've noticed the slow development of the flower sites, this is also from lack of calcium. I would just up the dosage of CaMg+ that you're giving them to fix the issue. Good Luck with the rest of your journey!!!

Hey friend so as you have even noticed your self the problem is localized to where your are exausting your air into the vegetative tent to utilize all available resources . That stale air coming in and the heat will cause what looks like like heat issues or even a deficiency like cal mag which you haven't added yet . If you can have the air moved in just not direct on top of plants may help ... Do your cal mag and move that air exchange a bit and it should help ,I don't believe it's rust fungus but lower humidity would help eliminate that possibility in the future ...cheers and good luck brother ..

I think it’s a calcium or magnesium problem. Adding some Calmag will do no harm. Good luck 👍🏽🍀

Day 57 - Still growing like crazy but I am having some issues with some fan leaves. Would some calmag help or does is it look like a fungus/disease? Hi guys, I'm hoping I can get some more help on my grow. I noticed these rust looking marking on some leaves. It's not spotting but more of patches. I gave them some water and calmag yesterday. It appears to have stopped spreading but damaged leaves did get a bit worse. I also used a coco potting mix blend in a few plants to compare and I am wondering if that contributed to a possible calmag deficiency.

They have stretched about 6 inches so far (33%) and staying pretty tight. Could they stretch less because I'm using high quality LEDs? I will do some defoliation this week and also need to add a 3rd fan to get some more circulation in there to keep PM down.

@BIGBUDZ450, I know man, they are gonna be monsters. My first grow was clones and they only streched 25%. These are from seed so I'm interested to see if they stretch more. It's 8 ft tall so I hope that will be enough.

@BIGBUDZ450, I have 6 clones that I vegged for about 8 weeks in there and I have room to walk down the middle. I didn't scrog them, I just did a lot of fimming and lst. I will be/am using 2 HLG 320 XL and do 2 rows of 3 with each light over a row. I got about 30% stretch at most the first time and I have 5 different sativa strains going.

BIGBUDZ450commented5 years ago
@MountainBudz, in my opinion it’s going to get real crowded once your girls stretch with 6 of them in a 5x5. What light will you be using?
MountainBudz
MountainBudzcommented5 years ago
@BIGBUDZ450, I will most likely put them into 5 gallon pots, possibly 7 gallon. I currently have 6 7 gallon fabric pots in my 5x5 and they are doing great with 2-4 weeks left depending on strain. The goal is to get 6 healthy females to put into the flower tent. I still have plenty of room to walk down the middle of my tent to take care of the ladies which is nice to have.
