This plant spent an extended amount of time in veg—about 5 months. I have decided to flower under the T5 4 ft (8 bulb) and see what happens. The plant was very resilient under the trellis and fills the 2’ x 4’ tent.
Lots of growth after defoliating everything under the canopy. I will take another round of fan leaves out in a couple weeks. Bright green growth.
This plant got another round of defoliating. I have been keeping the humidity low because of the amount of growth in the canopy. She has great coverage and I’ll keep increasing the nutes and get those buds growing.
Some minor leaf problems popped up after last defoliation. I’ll keep adding ppm as we go. She has entered the second stage of flowering and will be given more phos to start to bulk up.
The small white haired buds are starting to get crystals and they smell amazing. Fruity and sweet. This plant is really starting to realize her potential!
This plant still has minor leaf issues. I believe it was a calcium deficiency so I cranked up the CalMag over the past few days.
The buds are still small, but they are laced with trichomes. This plant is under a T5 and so far, it is doing very well. We’ll see how she plumps up over the next few weeks. I’ll continue to add extra calcium and phosphorus in this middle stage to allow the buds to bulk up.
The smell is really becoming more prominent. It’s a sweet berry smell and fills the air when the tent is open.
Added Alg-a-mic to the mix. This is the first time I’ve used this bottle. We’ll see if it helps this grow. This big beauty is still chugging along. I have been keeping the cal mag prominent in the nutrient schedule so that she gets everything she needs
Another easy week for this lady. Still heavy on the Cal Mag. The small buds are starting to plump.
I am thinking she will go to 75 days. The humidity has been low so the trichome production is amazing on this one.
The buds are still small on this plant For her age. I think it is a function of low temps 56-66F and low RH throughout the grow. The basement is not going to be a good environment for the winter months. Otherwise, this plant is still chugging along. Mostly cloudy on the trichomes and just a few have turned amber. I will let this plant go as far as possible as most of it will go toward making bubble hash! So, I would like to be above 50% amber trichomes.
There are still a few minor leaf issues. It looks like Calcium deficiency, but I have increased the Cal Mag inclusion rate and increased the pH above 6.5 so that calcium uptake isn’t impeded. No new leaf issues since those changes, just a continuation on the front side of the plant.
Week 1 of the flush and leaves are turning yellow and drying out. One more week til chop chop. The buds didn’t reach their full potential due to the light intensity of the T5. The trichomes are mostly cloudy. A small percentage are turning amber.
week 2 of flush for this plant and now the lights are out for 48 hours of darkness before the chop chop. The second tester nug looks really good and the first is dried and tasty. Sweet berry notes and skunky. Great pheno. Most leaves are turning in the front half of the plant. The back half is slightly behind. A lot of purple coming through in the leaves and some buds have purple trichomes. I tried to get a pic of that, but it didn’t really come through. The trichomes are mostly cloudy with about 10% amber. I wanted this plant to go a little longer, but with 5 months in veg and coming up on 11 weeks in flower, the time has come. Most of the flowering period was low temp/humidity which may have affected yield. This experiment of flowering with the T5 (8 bulb, 4 ft) is considered a success as the yield is higher than expected. And, the flavor of these buds is up there with her sister plant that flowered under LED. Overall, a fun grow that taught me a lot. I will chop this lady tomorrow and hang the whole plant upside down until dried. Then, I will buck it down and make bubble hash with most of the yield. I will update with pics during the process.
Another great pheno from ILGM! I love their blueberry and always have a few ounces to puff! Most of this harvest will go to bubble hash.
8 days of drying for the whole plant. Small sticks were crispy, but the branches still had plenty of moisture in them. I bucked it down into mason jars and will leave with the lid off for a few days to get the moisture moving out. I give them a shake daily and they are fluffy nuggets. All small nuggets with the T5 intensity not as high as an LED/HID. I will let them cure for a month and update.
One month of cure have brought out the sweet berry smell in these. Some nuggets are still very skunky.
The ILGM blueberry nuggets are my go to day time smoke!
Next up...bubble hash!
@TeamQuality420,
I use trellis netting and zip tie it to the tent poles. You can pull it tight and drop it down if necessary.
It is inexpensive and effective!
