I'm trying to be as accurate as possible with measurements and dilutions as it's a hydroponic grow, I have done a lot of research about growing both Autos and Photo types and think its time to put all I've learn into practise. I'll also try and get a photo at least every 2-3 days.
The Auto Massassin seed took a couple days to sprout and came out on the 13th October, I transplanted it a couple days after.
During the Week 1 the roots didn't touch the water in the pot, I think its because I transplanted a little late and the main tap root ended up dying/drying out?
From sprouting I sprayed the seedling 2-3 times a day for the first week to keep the humidity above 90%
I monitored the PH of the water even though the roots hadn't reached the water and maintained it at around 5.8-6PH
I've used all the nutrients more than 50% below the recommended usage to see how the plant reacts as I read some autos prefer lower nutrient levels.
Was unsure how to say how much Great White to say I used, just a tiny sprinkle or 1/10th scoop. I lowered the PH with about 6 drops of PH down and added 3ml of the Silver Bullet Roots to the 16 litre pot (which was recommend to stop root rot)
So I live in a hard water area so use 1 drop/litre of Neutralise by Ecothrive to neutralise chlorine and chloramine in the water.
I can't measure PPM or EC because I don't own a test/pen.
I don't own a Par/lux meter so am guessing the light distance and only have the veg switch on
My LED light is rated at 1200watts but when tested with my plug tester it measure at approx 45watts in Veg and 70watts in Bloom, both switches on use about 115 TrueWatts. (I think that's how it works)
Didn't need to change the water during week 2 as the roots had only just touched the surface.
I kept the water PH monitored to 5.9 and sprayed the plant once a day with plant PH'd water.
I raised the lights by 1 inch to keep the top of the plant 18 inches away.
Overall the plant grew about an inch taller and going from having 2 to 3 sets of nodes.
But it also put more focus into the leaf and root development.
Didn't change the water again for week 3 as it contains Silver Bullet Roots which protects plants from bad bacteria and root rot for up to 5 weeks.
Monitored the PH of the water again and maintained it to a PH of 5.9
I had to build a support for the Plant as it couldn't hold up it's own weight. Maybe the fans too strong or the lights are causing it to stretch.
With my LED light I put both the Veg and Bloom switches on so the plant is getting more watts of light and I've raised it by an inch so it's 18 inches from the plant.
The Massassin grew by another inch and has now started to develop its 4th set of fan leaves. I've also notices that I possibly have a few abnormalities with leaf growth, I'm hoping she grows out of it.
I think I might start doing some low stress training to hopefully bring up the lower nodes and that it doesn't stunt the plants growth.
Through week 4 I decided to do some Low Stress Training to take the focus off the main cola and spread the energy around more evenly.
A couple days after bending her over and she's right back on track with all of the lower nodes forming branches and becoming a lot more bushy.
The Root development has been outstanding and has grown by nearly 10 times its mass in just a week.
This will be the 4th week I didn't changed the nutrients and I believe there is plenty for the plant to still thrive on, if I notice a deficiency then I will be amending it.
I plan to change the reservoir around week 5 as there is still roughly 10 litres remaining.
The PH of the water has been altered as it dropped down to 5.5 and i'm not sure why?
After amending this I monitored it over the rest of the week and it hasn't moved from 5.9PH
I'm keeping the LED 18 inches from the plant and am still looking to get a PAR/LUX meter so I can properly adjust the height to what they need.
As the weather continues to get colder so does my tent but it seem happy sitting at 23'C during the day and 18'C at nighttime.
Just waiting for this girl to pop her pistils and show me the flowering signs.
Week 5 is here and boy am I exited for the future. The Auto Massassin fem grew by 1.5 inches from base to cola with all of her side branches stretching up to the same height which gave a nice even canopy. She also grew some more nodes and her root mass is rapidly growing. I maintained the PH to 5.9 trained a few of her side branches. During a little but of LST 2 large fan leaves broke off which I'm hoping doesn't stress her out too much.
I changed the reservoir water at the end of the week as I was going away for a few days and noticed some signs of nutrient deficiencies in a few of the leaves.
Whats in my 15 Litre reservoir:
. 1 gram of Great White
. 15 drops of Neutralise to remove the chlorine and chloride so it doesn't kill the beneficial bacteria
. 6ml of Silver Bullet Roots to prevent root rot and other disease
. 15ml of both Mother Pukka, Coco Clown A&B
. 1.5ml of PH down to get the overall PH to 5.9
The temperature continues to drop inside and outside of the tent and my lights can't keep it above 22'c without the heating on also as the lights are on 24 hours the night times temperatures have a low of 16-18'c
Can't wait to see how Week 6 turns out, I'm really hoping she going into flowering soon so shes ready for Christmas 😊
Wow, I'm so interested in hydroponic farming but I'm too chicken to take it on just yet.
Your girls seem happy though and I cant wait to see the final product.
Happy gardening honey!!
@MomnPoppaSeed, Thanks Grower. My friend advised it and when I did my research they can grow up to x2 as fast and recover from most problems in a couple days. I only have to be careful about the nutrients and PH as there isn't much room for error. I'm just as excited as you my friend, i'm hoping for a nice even canopy.
