In this grow I will be focusing on 4 plants, Pink Kush x Tangie cross I'm calling Pink Tropicana Kush, Wedding Cake, Do-Si-Dos, and a Tangie. Do-Si-Dos has a weird leaf burn, not sure what it was from but everything else went as planned.
Conditions seem perfect. There are no signs of deficiencies anywhere. Topped for the first time at 4th node. Better pictures coming in the next updates.
LST Bending new tops outward to keep decent airflow and prevent mold since I keep my humidity levels so high. Everything is BLOWING UP... Time for transplants soon. The only plant I'm waiting on still is the Do-Si-Dos.
first 2 days after transplant into bigger buckets and i can already see growth, My strain has started to stretch up more to even out the canopy. I supercropped my Tangie F2 to let the 2 side branches catch up to the 2 main colas and ive started training the mains outward. Do-Si-Dos has a beautiful shape and ill top all plants again when they stretch taller. ***UPDATED PICTURES COMING***
Wow these next 2 months were a journey to me because I never had a pH pen or a PPM reader. PH problems looked a lot like phosphorus deficiency so I kept feeding accordingly without thinking about buildup. So I ended up over feeding my babies and they died for a little bit.. buutt...
Due to my do si do and ptk strains dying I tried a last ditch effort to save them. I flushed them down to 10-50ppms and flowered them for 2 weeks with 2/3 sets of leaves left on the top of the canopy and Attempted monstercropping as an experiment...
I WAS SO HAPPY THAT MY EXPERIMENT WORKED!!!!! My reveg/monstercropping experiment actually saved my plants. After 2 weeks of 18/6 I started seeing new odd leaf growth and I knew that it was working. I couldn’t wait to see what was in store since I know how the plants are supposed to react to monstercropping..
I promise the Lighting changes very soon so don’t worry about purple light for much longer.... however this week I was cheesed because my plan worked and I was noticing rediculous growth from all of my plants. There were a few days where my do si do gave me some pH warnings again so I learned what it likes and kept it as healthy as possible. I believe the only reason I’ve had problems with my plants is from bad tap water, but either way we make due and keep growing.
I was very satisfied with the next few weeks, I get a new light in next week which will be better for showing you guys true colors. It’s remarkable to me how big these plants are getting after they died on me.
I regret not tipping this week because I could have had an amazing canopy, next harvest I won’t make this mistake :) but about a month and a half into the recovery and they already look like 2 ounce plants. We’ll see how things go.
I applied a light defoliation to keep bud sites open. I’m very happy with how they are stretching and how the structure is looking, stay tuned for giant buds if you’ve read this far :)
Week 2 flower was very exciting to me because I love starting flower, it’s been a long journey with its ups and downs since I’m growing hydroponically for the first time. But I’ve learned a lot and I’ll be able to apply it in my future.
Absolutely loving the bud structure and smells, pink Tropicana kush #1 is very reminiscent of a bag of skittles and my PTK #2 smells like a skunky og (PTK is my personal strain crossing Tangie and Pink Kush
I am very happy with how the buds are forming, this is my first 100% indoor grow so these buds are stinky compared to what I’m used to... I’m very very happy so far
I hope you guys enjoy these buds just as much as I do because this has been an amazing journey so far with lots of lessons learned. I’m Ecstatic due to the fact that I made my own strain and I’m seeing the results of the work I’ve put in for over a year. It’s a beautiful thing to see.
Next week I plan on throwing the purple light in my tent as an additional source of light, I have been noticing a lack in development so I will see if this fixes my problem
I’ve already flushed these plants and they are starting the process of cannibalization. I like to flush my plants for much longer than it’s needed because I love the end product and I think you will too
So during the last 2 weeks of flower I was in awe and shock. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the colors that were coming in on these plants. It’s the most beautiful plants I’ve grown to date and the smells coming from this tent are absolutely tremendous. I can’t wait to update you guys with my next grows and future projects/experiments.
