This is a seed that I got in replacement from ILGM (gotta love their 100% germination guarantee) when they sent photos instead of autos and no one knew to switch lights.
Anyway, this is my 1st try at the OG kush auto so I wanted to document her.
I have heard that she is a resilient strain so we will see
Let the growing begin!!!
11/26/19 she had 1 cup of tea made from worm castings/black strap molasses/compost from my organic garden.
Hopefully she'll continue to show green and pick up on her growth in the coming weeks.
I am really starting to learn the difference in lights and it's made a big difference already.
When we got the new LEDs and COB I put the purple and starter lights away.
Now that we're working with photo period plants I need 2 rooms so all 5 lights are back plugged and it's been a learning experience.
The difference I'm noticing is quite substantial. Before we always had big leafy plants but shotty thrichome production. Then we switched and the plants all became super potent with tons of thrichomes but scrawny but leggy plants with light yields and few smaller leaves.
Well now I understand why and its made a positive influence on the plants in my grow room.
They're all shorter with much wider leaves because of the blue light they are receiving.
They are not leggy while in vegetation stage at all any more but then as they are autos I'll just switch them over to the flower rooms when they are ready where they'll be placed under the cob or LED to do some healthy stretching as they go into flower.
My Hope's are that they will continue to produce lots of thrichomes but also larger yields in the near future.
Nutrition was as always and I'll continue to increase the nitrogen as she begins to mature.

So this is one of those things that happens with autos and it ended up being a blessing because my growroom is running out of space so her finishing early works for us.
12/15/19 she went into preflower. She was only a few weeks old and hadn't grown much yet so her frame isnt going to allow for a big yield.
As soon as I noticed she was going in I moved her into the flower room where the lights are a little higher for stretching.
This made a big difference in her height and site production. She surprised me by beginning to show some sparkle around the main head site and that is especially exciting.

This week was a week of stretch. When she first went in, I was stressing because of how small she was but her stretch has been quite significant.
Other than that the only other notable difference is that we ended up putting all of our girls in the flower room where they can finish with a SOG style grow.
This was decided when we realized that the humidity was never going to be low enough for budding plants due to the lack of air flow.
So now shes going to be hanging out with some top shelf photo strains yet somehow i know that she'll hold her own and turn out to be as beautiful and potent as her photo period roommates.
1/11/20- went out for the night and when we got back this morning we noticed that she is starting to build her thrichs up which is cute as shes still a baby.
That being said, I've been seekng little sparkles catching light since her 1st head spot began to show up.
She's got a long time to go but I'm happy to see her flourish.
This girl has surprised me so much.
Shes came from a long line of slow developing plants that usually wouldn't show thrichomes until she was well into her flower period (like 4 weeks from head sites forming) but this girl has been sparkling from crowning and is still producing them.
1/18/20. After our record high humidity levels I experienced my first bout with bud rot and so today EVERYONE gets a haircut.
It's all I can do to get more air flow
I know that this strain is known for her heavy thrichs and airy indica disposition but this is actually my first OG kush auto to do this and I feel like these are the genetics that made this strain famous.
Now they're even visible to the naked eye at 1st glance.
My last batch produced a great yield but potency was lacking.
I have a feeling that this one will be more potent with lighter yield and that's what I am growing for. Potency..
Although shes not very big because she did her auto thing early and switched to flower quickly. This was a good thing as my grow area couldn't handle another big plant like the banana kush seed 2 I have growing now.
1/22/20
I guess the main reason why I didn't update as soon as I usually do is that she isnt giving me much to report.
Her thrichomes are everywhere but that started with the flower cycle and that's already been reported.
I had to defoliate every plant in my area except her and Jack herer, due to heavy humidity raising the risk of bud rot in my more densely packed plants.
So one thing I will admit, I think this plant will finally give me a decent OG to try. I've grown 2 b4 and 1 didn't even make flowers and the other finished but wasn't the potency I had hoped for or even expected for that matter.
The one who finished never had as many thrichomes as this baby does so although her yield is lacking, I'll be extremely happy with her outcome.
I like having variety in the medication cabinet and that's what growing gives me.
ILGM has been a great seed bank and I just ordered 2 new strains for next seasons grow. LSD and strawberry cough will add color and sativa strains to our cabinet.
Boring week with little more than thrichome development to report.
Buds remain tiny but as long as she keeps her thrichomes healthy, she'll be worth the effort.

@Petiborlu, thank you. I think a language barrier could cause confusion. The translator provided isn't always great and much of slang terms get lost in translation.
One language we all understand is cannabis and love.

So let me explain my history with OG kush auto. My 1st got stuck in preflower and died at 20 weeks with nothing more than preflower buds.
My 2nd grew into a big plant giving me a 4 oz dry yield but flavor and potency were lacking.
When I contacted the seed bank they replaced all 3 of my seeds and added 2 more giving me 5 more,which is why I use ILGM (they replace all seeds that dont produce unless its growers fault).
Anyways, this was my last of the old OG auto seeds and unlike the other 2 it went into flower super early showing sparkles around the head sites. I was disappointed but her size but honestly I needed the room anyway so her small stature and fast flow may just be a blessing in disguise.
Either way, I've learned not to assume or predict anything with these autos, as you really never know what the will do.
I can't wait to see what her thrichomes end up like because she's been having a little sparkle show up since the head sites first appeared.
I'm glad that you'll have one I can use as a reference.
The thing about OG is that shes been tried and tested and survived the test of time by not only lasting so long but because so many strains have her as a part of their hybrid genetics. She's one of the "old school " strains that existed long b4 we named every strain.
@raptor65, thanks, as my stash shrinks I always over plant lol. But I have an empty poolhouse that can hold a lot more lights so I may have to ask Santa for a few more ;)
@Efka710, Haha, thanks for the friendly reminder. I was planning on doing it yesterday buuuut, woke up to my first case of bud rot on my biggest healthiest plant (the gold leaf) .
So I removed the funk and cleaned her but spent the day researching and reshaping my grow area.
Today I knew that it was time to get back to the daily routine.
This is the highest our humidity has been indoors in the 3 yrs I've been in this area and it brings unexpected heartache.
@Efka710, I usually do 18 hours and had her with the clones in the nursery but when I noticed the heads so early I moved her into the flower room where her lights would help her to stretch more with the taller lights (which works well btw). I like to keep my clones short so the lights in the veg room dont do much for stretching plants. That being said, I think I'll start moving her back with veg plants in the evening so she can get more hours of light and just put her back with big girls in the morning for the day. But basically its for the taller lights.
I usually do 18/6 for autos but with the photos added in to the mix we have to share the space/ lights.
