My first attempt at hydro. Watched a lot of YouTube videos on how to build the buckets the the other materials needed for a DIY setup. After I researched the cost of this I decided I would search the internet and found some pretty inexpensive already assembled buckets along with the net lids, air pump, stone bubbler, clay stones, and a few starter pods. Easy setup, mixed up my RO water and Fox Farms Big Bloom to 6.5ph, and ran that overnight in my grow room to get the water accustomed to the environment. Dropped a seed into the starter pod and placed it into the net pot. That was 2 days ago and the the seed popped this morning when I went in to check. I'll take some photos once there's something to see. The fun begins.😁
@Wicked_Stix, thanks for the input. I built this grow room in my attic. It's great but it's still hard to control the environment even as well insulated as I've made this room its still a trial. My plan, once I can actually get a complete a successful harvest is to grow Autos all winter up through May. After that it will get way to hot up there and I can't afford to run that AC nonstop all summer here in Oklahoma. So grow as much as I can during the winter and enjoy it the rest of the year and then start again in September once it starts cooling off.
Unfortunately my little one bite the bullet. Sometime over the past 2 days the stone got clogged up and well you know the rest of that story. I won't use Fox Farm Big Bloom again, too much organic stuff. Refilled with RO and used General Hydroponics liquid hopefully that will do the trick this round. I agree with GreenMachine the Ph does seem a bit high I'm going to knock it down closer to 6.0 and see what happens. Don't get me wrong I like Fox Farms just not for these buckets. What are ya'll using?
