This is about 4 weeks old now so I'm gonna do a few weeks in a row to catch up. I grew one of these not long ago and while I was growing it I began to really hate it, I did not top it and it was wild and hard to tame, you can check it out. Anyhoo the actual resin itself is very nice with a strong pine smell and it makes a nice rosin too, so I thought I'd give this another go just for the challenge, it really is a bitch to grow. Mind you I did get about 12 zips off the last one. I'm aiming for about 8 on this one. So this one will be topped and I'm a bit wiser now, I know she's not going to flower for a long while so it's just a matter of seeing if I can control her.

OK so she is coming along well. I should mention that I'm moving to a generally higher pH. I used to keep everyone around 5.7 to 6, or in the yellow range tending to a bit orange, but now I keep the solution on the greenish yellow and everything seems a bit better, not that it was bad but say compare this to my previous moby dick which had some rust spots on it, this does not have.

19th —25th November. Everything proceeding nicely, the higher pH seems to have eliminated the strange leaf problems I had on the last one. Sort of up to date now on this one, next update in a few days, now to do my Gorilla Shizzle and I'll be back on top of everything. Yay!

All going well compared to my previous untopped Moby Dick, however this will not even start to look like flowering for another two weeks. The higher pH is working better. The next 4 weeks are going to be a bit dull and I will need to keep on top of the pruning. I don't want another jungle. Last one was 12 zips, i'm looking for a more modest 6 to 8 this time around.

Two big defoliations this week, I cam close to putting a metal net on but I resisted. She is looking very similar in stature to the Gorilla Shizzle. Neither showing any signs of flowering yet. It's going to be a long few weeks now. The strange leave spots that were on my first Moby Dick #1 are not there at all and the only difference is a higher average pH. I'm coming to the conclusion that 6.3 is better for hydro than the often quoted 5.8, both will work but I'm finding the higher pH to be better.

Typical slow to flower, I have to move soon so I'm just about gonna be able to finish this but unfortunately I have to terminate Brooklyn Sunrise and Sour Crack who are too young to make it to the end. :¬( Lots of defoliating now, basically it's continuous. Moby Dick is the one on the right, the smallest on surprisingly, especially considering how big my last Moby Dick got, and the the one on the left which is Gorilla Shizzle, is nearly two weeks younger!

This lovely plant had to get trashed at this point due to my landlord wanting to demolish :¬( So that was annoying, because this was going to be bigger than Ben Hur. Didn't grow for a year.
