Week 2 - She has some brown spots on her leaves. I think it's from a lack of nutrients. I have been spritzing her with some nutrients and hope for the best.
Week 4 - She growing well but I think there is some nitrogen deficiency. I was struggling with too much nitrogen in my previous grows and narrowed it down to the soil mixture. This time I left out many of the amendments in my soil mixture and now I am getting yellowing lower leaves. I am trying to slowly add amall amounts of nutrients and see what happens. She has been moved into a bigger pot and into the tent with LED lights. She was also FIMmed.
Week 5 - Despite my efforts to control the nutrient issues, she is getting lighter in colour; looking a little yellow. 😡 She is still growing though. I wonder how well she would grow if the nutrient balance was perfect. I will continue to make small adjustments and hope for a happy medium.
Week 6 - She is growing well despite still showing nutrient issues. I do think they are improving though. Now I have to try and avoid overfeeding and causing other problems.
Week 7 - I'm not sure what this random leaf is doing with brown spots showing up. I hope it is a nutrient deficiency and correctable. She has been really thirsty and growing well so I transplanted her into a 7 gallon pot and watered her with 3 liters of RO and some nutrients.
Week 8 - She still has some yellowing but the brownish spots haven't spread. I'm feeding these ladies much heavier than previous grows and they still seem to have issues. I'm also trying to avoid giving too much nitrogen and flipping them into overload. She is still growing well and filling out.
Day 56 - She is growing well and looking healthy. Just giving her 3 liters straight RO water and no nutrients so that she will be ready to have some clones taken at the end of the week.
Day 63 - She is still growing and drinking well. I took four clones from her after these photos were taken. I haven't taken clones before, just used the tops I had chopped off of some plants I topped so I hope I have some luck.
Day 66 - She is recovering well after having clones taken. She is growing out and upward and is drinking alot. I gave her 3 liters of RO and some nutrients. I am waiting to see if the clones survive before putting her into flower.
Day 69 - I took off some of the large fan leaves that were blocking the light penetration. She got 4 liters of RO as she is stil drinking alot.
Day 73 - She's getting big and recovered well from clone and fan leaf removal. I watered her with 4 liters of RO and some nutrients. My 4 ladies are filling up my tent fast and getting fairly tall so I've decided to switch over to the 12/12 light/dark schedule. My Gorilla Glue ladies smell like breakfast sausages! I wasn't expecting much of an odor until they were in flower. I noticed the smell but couldn't figure out what it reminded me of until my son came in the room and said it was sausages. I guess it could be worse. 😛
Day 76 - I watered her and gave her a bit of "compost" tea. (bat guano, Worm castings and molasses) She's got purple stems but otherwise seems healthy so I'm not sure what is happening. I hope it doesn't affect the final results.
Day 78 - First week of flower. She's still growing taller every day and I think I see lady parts so that's good. Her stems are purple and so are the stems of my other GG#4. I hope this is a genetic thing but I am adding some magnesium and calcium into the mix. Today I watered her with 3 liters of RO and some nutrients.
Day 80 - She's growing fast and drinking alot. Starting to show pre-flowers too. I need to do some defoliation soon but I am waiting to see if my clones will survive, in case I need to take some more.
Day 84 - I did some lower branch, bud and leaf removal. I also took some clones with hopes that I can have some success this time. I hope the light will have better penetration and help with a bigger yield. She is still growing fast and looks healthy.
Day 87 - She's drinking a ton so I have given her another 4 litres of RO today. Otherwise there are no signs of difficulties and she is flowering.
Day 90 - She continues to grow taller and drink well. She recovered well from defoliation so I did a little LST to open her up a bit more. I gave her another 4 liters with her nutrients.
Day 94 - Still some upward growth and the flowers are coming in.
Day 97 - I gave her 4 litres of RO with some nutrients and tea. I don't see any nutrient issues and the flowers are coming along.
Day 104 - She's doing well and her flowers are filling out. I see some pistols turning orange and it seems kind of early for that. I did some more defoliation and gave her 4 litres of RO and some nutrients.
I decided to flush the ladies as it is Week 7 of flower and I'm thinking that they should be finished in about two weeks. So far the trichomes are mostly clear. I plan to harvest when they're milky. I get differring opinions about harvest time. Last group of ladies I waited a little longer, until the trichomes were half amber.
These pictures are kind of crappy but it does look like there are some more cloudy trichomes and the odd amber one. I gave her 2 litres of RO for now. I don't want her to get too wet as I plant to harvest her as soon as she looks ready and I want her to be dry at that time.
Day 133 - I took some last picks before putting the ladies into the dark for a couple of days. I would have liked a little more time before harvest but the trichomes are ready. There will be a smoke report after the dry and cure.
Final yield was pretty good at 4.1 ounces. There is a obvious peppery smell and taste. The best thing about this plant is the relaxation and pain relief that comes from smoking it. It is a wonderful sleep aid and a pleasant numbing feeling happens from head to toe. 😴
