Average temps days 1-3 were a cool 62f . Did not see much growth. Raised the temps by turning on the lights 18/6 once I saw the cotyledons barely break the surface of the rapid rooter. Once the light went on we were happy at 77-80f. Only concern is the low RH. Climate is very dry here >30%. Humidifier is on the way.
Plants exploded this week in growth. Very nice thick stalk and each have grown 4 nodes so I will be topping down to the 3rd soon, however I am trying to cure what seems to be root rot with about all my plants. Gods gift has shown the most signs of root rot while the
Arctic Grape and Pandora’s Box (same reservoir) are still growing very strong but are showing brown roots as well.
UPDATE 12/19/19
Wrapped my reservoirs in black heavy duty gorilla tape and cannot see any light or glow inside anymore.
Topping reservoir with nutrient water (tap water, 24hrs covered indoors) at 1tsp/gal. I fed my gals pH'd tap water for the first week from seed, week 2 1/4tsp/gal, week 3 1/2tsp/gal. I will cut back the nutes if I go overboard, end of week 3 my PPMs in
reservoir are 378 and my topping water will be 550 ppm. Will update PPMs in res after I top it up. Thanks for all the feedback on my first grow guys, I know I can do this!! :D
I am struggling with root rot in both my 20 gal reservoirs. Fixed light leaks 6 days ago (day 16) I included hydroguard in every reservoirs change and my water temps are pretty stable at 67-69 degrees f. I have 2 large air stones per 10gal water on highest setting. Any ideas?
Hey there CannaBodian, yeah you can increase the hydroguard to full strength and you can even clip off the bottom 20% of the problem roots - that's called root pruning. You dont want root rot getting out of control. Hope this helps ! 🚀
Installed new MarsHydro TSW2000 this week. Stupid me forgot the humidifier was on all night, reached 88% RH and woke up with some droopy plants with some black mold on one of the gods gift. Will have to kill that one off, and will only be keeping 3 to completion...if I can. Update coming on Dec 24th after new res change and a bit more time to adjust to the new lights.
12/24 Week 5 begins.
Just cleaned reservoirs, upped nutes to 1tsp/gal, and kept the strongest 4. Will begin flower a week from now if the next 7 days show promising growth.
The ladies will be spending time exclusively under the TSW2000 now and the T5 has been put away. Slowly increasing light strength over next couple weeks with adjustable driver.
12/28 Week 5 Day 4.
Plants really bushing out, showing a lot more green color and seems to be growing super quick. Flowering in 3 days here, thinking about adding a SF 1000 to my 4x4 alongside MarsHydro TSW 2000.
Any idea if SpiderFarmer SF 1000 + MarsHydro TSW 2000 (~400w from the wall) in a 4x4 tent is worth it?
You can add 2 tsp of 3% hydrogen peroxide per gallon to your reservoir and it will kill any bacteria that is causing root issues. It will break down so you can add it every 4 or 5 days.
@Wicked_Stix, Thank you for helping! The hydroguard seems to have done its job and I see slow recovery already. Silly me didn't get all the light leaks, reservoir material was pretty thin. Wrapped them in black duct tape, and its already getting better. Appreciate the advice man!
f'ing love these strains... tempted to grow em. Would you re-grow these?
Look forward to keeping up with your grow, i'm following as of now. Im growing a few similar strains check out my progress, i'd love to hear your feedback.
@Kid_Colombia, bro thanks for following! This is my first grow ever but I def think I would! Gods Gift and Pandora's Box have been soaking up all the nutes so far and love the T5s. Pretty resilient as well. I will for sure check yours out man! Cheers!
