Day One of my first indoor grow diary.
Sowed the seed and gave a shot of water @ 6.3pH, placed a glass over the
area to keep it moist, so not to dry out to quickly.
So now the journey begins, wish me luck!
Day Five - so update @ end of day, she has surfaced and I think in future I'll germinate the seeds with the paper towel or water method before sowing them in the soil.
That way it should shorting the time the little ladies have to push to surface.
Let's hope for some good growth for here on. 😊
Day 7 - week one comes to an end and I have a good seedling, starting week 2 with a full work up of the water feed with molasses and liquid nutrients. 😊👍
Well into week 3 and growth is slow in my view, but she looks healthy and a great green. There is stretch and new tips growing at the nodes. So she's growing slow but I'm knocking that down to the fact I'm running a custom light I made a good year back. It could be the angle of the leds that is forcing the leaves and steam to stretch.
Day - 20 / Update.
After topping the plant and removing leaf tips on Day 17, it's looking alright. I choose to leave 2 node spaces to create 4 branch offs. I have noticed a rather strong purple stem and I'm hoping it's just plant genetics and not a Phosphorus or Magnesium issue. Ending off week 3 feeling good tho. 👍😊
So we are into week 4 with new water feed. Growth is coming along well and the plant is looking great. I have dropped the pH to 6.0 and hope to see good results from doing so.
I did some searching for pics of the strain and what I found were some good looking purples, so the purple stem mentioned last week shouldn't be an issue but I'll keep my eye on it.
Here's to hoping for some great growth in week 4! 🤞😊👍
Day - 24/update.
I'm noticing some challenges in keeping a good humidity level, so I'm looking at get a control and humidifier.
Into week 5 and the plant looks good, started the week off with transplanting her to a 38L fabric pot and mixing up a strong root booster feed @ 6.3pH.
Day 29 I topped the 2 low branches and low stressed all 4 branches.
Day 30 showed no issues with those actions so I'm happy with the progress.
So good so far! Happy growing is a great start for 2020!👌👍😊
Week 6. Things are going fine. I bought a humidifier and controller this week, but humidifier wasn't working not sure why. It was an ultrasonic cool mist humidifier but the water level stayed the same after 18hours of run and no humidity change in the tent.
The plant is still healthy and growing alright, I would like to upgrade the light but that's not in the budget yet.
👍🙂Grow and keep Growing
Day 41, I ended week 6 off with defoliation of fan leaves which has shown well for the plant into week 7. I have kept the same nutrients feed and will see about doing a flush of the medium in week 8 as prep for the switch.
I'm looking at switching the light to 12-12 in week 9 and implementing bloom feed.
My take on growing in soil is somewhat difficulty. I grew plants back a year ago in the previous country I lived in and used coco and had an easier time dealing with the plants than this grow medium, it could well be because I got the cheaper grade of soil that has lead to the difficulty.
Week 7 I am releasing the LST and will see how the plant retains its bush shape.
👍😊Happy Growing!
Week 7 went great, plant reacted well to releasing the ties of LST. She held her bush shape and stretched up a bit.
Week 8! I've started the week of with rasing the light a couple of inches as the stretch put the tops about 10" close to the light. This week I will be feeding with just water pH to 6.3, however I have decided to add Calmag at 75% strength as I'm using bottle filtered water. The idea is to clear out the Veg nutrients in time for flower feed in week 9.
Growing healthy and green, happy with my experience so far! 😊👍
Quick and simple update.
Half way through week 9 and plant is Bushy and healthy. I switched the lights to 12-12 to start the transition to flower. Will be defoliation in week 10 or 11 as she is a bit too much for my light to cover her and start the flowering, the lower shots and side branches won't develop full bud sites.
Week 11. Plant has shot up 20cm over week 10 and 11. So I decided to do defoliation and clean up the bush. This being my first indoor grow I was not sure how much I should remove, here's to hoping I haven't stressed her to much. My hopes are that this will help trigger her to flower and show so pistils but the end of the week.
End of week 11 show the signs of pistils pushing through, this brought a smile to my face from ear to ear 😊😊.
I've marked week 12 as the start of flowering, and already half way into the week and pistils are stacking up!
Happy Growing! 😊😊
End of week 13, bud sites are all over the place and aroma has started (weak). She looks great and healthy. I dropped the FloraGro and now on a Bloom only feed.
Start of week 14, so I have added Molasses to the feed and done a defoliation treatment to help with air flow and lighting for lower bud sites. I also nipped off small/tiny bud sites.
Hope to see bud development in these next two weeks
Week 15. This week has shown great development in bud structure and trichomes have started to cover new growth. The plant has a mild lemon scent and I'm loving it!
Im really looking forward to smoking this high CBD flower for a great relaxing vibe
Week 16...
This week has been good, plant is drinking well and buds are putting some weight on. I have had to support some branches with ties to keep them up and away from each other.
Had an equipment issue this week as well, soild state relay blow on my homemade temperature control box which lead to a temperature spike of 25 to 33 degrees celsius (77-91.4 f).
Substrate temp went up to 26.5 degrees C (79.7f), so I will be keeping an eye on soil to make sure no rot damage occurs. But control box is fixed and temps are back to ideal status.
Happy Growing! 👍😁👌
End of week 17...
Not much has happened this week. Buds have put on a little weight and Soil is doing well after last week's equipment fualt with temp control.
So plant is sitting in mid bloom, gonna remove silica from feed and start reducing the micros in the weeks to come.
Have also thought about doing a flush in the next week, don't know if will help.
Share your thoughts in a comment if I should flush the plant or not.
Week 19...
Buds smell great, strong citrus and looking sticky sweet. Have notice a bit of swelling in the body of small buds so hopefully another 2-3weeks and I can harvest this medical girl for the family.
Advice needed. I found a few leaves in the mid section of the plant that show curling, yellow and brown edges image in week 19.
What could be the cause?
Week 20.
Harvest is around the corner! Switched to Ripen this week and saw the effects it had day after day. Pistils turned brown and buds swell a bit. Aroma is strong and thick with citrus and earthy notes. Plan is to flush in week 21 and chop and hang.
Happy Growing! 😊😊✌️✌️
Update early into week 21. Started flushing with plain water. This is my first time so hope things go well.
Update end of week 21. Last watering on day 146, so I'll give her 24 hours and then pull the light out and leave her in the dark for 48 hours and then chop her.
This last week I have noticed her leaning alot to one side, hope that's a sign of good weight build up in buds. Will have to wait for the digits on the scales to see the value of hard efforts.
Will pull her out of the tent and take some photos before the chop, maybe get some better shots in a different light.
Happy Growing ✌️😊👌
