Why are my plants sad. I think I had a problem with heat stress/light too close, not enough calcium and a slight overfeed.. but asking to see if there is anything else I am missing or maybe I am way off. Thanks!

Looks like a micro problem. I would lower reservoir level and mist the underside of the leaves with a tablespoon of skim milk and a pinch of epsom salt to a liter of water. Also raise up the rh in the room to 65%. Maybe it will help, won't hurt.

The leaf issue could be a few problems mate. 1- Leaf rust. This is a fungus and could be the cause. 2- Lock out. Could you have given to much calcium? 3- Deficency. You may have not given enough feed. Possibly nitrogen. Those would be the 3 main caused buddy πŸ‘ Personally. I'm going with no 3. Combined with a touch of heat stress πŸ‘ We are confident, Now you know about the issue you'll get it resolved and back on track in no time πŸ€— Until next time ✌️ Kind regards Team-HSO..

@IDOSWED, tomorrow! I updated week 2 a couple days early because I was worried. I think it was a combination of a couple things, but mainly an underfeed/nutrient ratio that was off causing my issues... I use well water at 80 PPMs, ~15 PPM of Cal to 2 Magnesium, so adding about 20-40 PPMs of Epsom Salts helps balance that out too. The cal-mag in botanicare has most of their micros, so I increased that from 1 -> 2.5ml/gal + epsom salt. I am still slowly Increasing my base feed from .6/.7 to 1.0-1.1. I am going to cull the taller one with the most damage though.. she looks better, but I will kill her. I was looking for a reason to cull 1 since I only wanted to bring 2 to flower from the beginning so.... I also changed the reservoir to a new one like you suggested, but I don't think that was the issue because I have another plant (Girl Scout Crack) that had some of the same issues and they are clearing up by increasing the cal-mag, epson salts, and base grow nutrients... so same results the only difference is I kept the reservoir. Your comments about the reservoirs building up salts made me scrub down all my spare reservoirs again haha...
IDOSWED
IDOSWEDcommented5 years ago
Would really like to see some updates on those. I had the same situation and I found out it was a lockout. Increasing base nutrients was not a solution for me, they got even worse.. Good Luck!

@@motaman311, Me to Mate.....I am on city water, I let it sit to dechlorinate....Then add each nutrient and stir....After all is done i make sure to PH around 6.2 (Im in Coco Coir) 6.2 every f'ing time (I have three PH testers incase one fails), i stopped guessing...I measure the nutrients exactly, with measurer...Also I start low with nut's then increase as each week goes...IMHO I might be Cray. but its working....Im new also...Trying not to F up to bad... @MaxwellSH, I've been looking at Rhizo blast and have been thinking about getting it... I def could benefit from a root stimulant. Hydroplex I am trying to figure out.. I've used it for my last few grows and I get lockouts, PH issues, and deficiencies...think it's just way too much P. I am going to try and eliminate it this grow and see if I see some of the same issues I was having

Your plants are sad because you don't talk to them enough....they think you don't love them...they need more positive reinforcement....O'yeah clones taken after flower...WORK FINE BUT ARE HARDER TO ROOT UP.......so just F.Y.I. since you asked that specific question...I just did it CLONED STAR PHISH AND GROOT I just took 4 clones...ALL WERE LIKE DEAD LOOKING....BUT I GOT THEM IN THECDOME 93% humidity...75f ALL STOOD UP....first four clones ever.....MADE VIDEOS...will post on the PLATINUM ZKITTLEZ diary next weekend assuming they survive???? Looking good so far.....1ml, BLOOM A & B, Zyme, Ryzofuel per gallon.......150+-ppm then foliar ZYME RYZO BI BOOST 1ml/g...FOR MISTING THE PLANTS AND HUMIDITY DOME....

@@@Wilson_McNugget, I think that zeus juice is the close to the same thing as the liquid karma. I started using it again for my plants in veg and probably will use it throughout flower again. Crystal blast sounds good too... I like the less phosphorous than the hydroplex (0-10-6). I would be careful with your first couple feeds with zeus juice. I know you've done enough research you know what the humic acids do, but it should make your nutrients more efficient = more uptake. The magnum sounds a lot like terpinator and some of the other products. I like throwing the epsom salts not only for the mag, but the sulfur helps boost their metabolism.. and they are highly soluable too, so I never find any salts at the bottom of my reservoirs. That's a pretty good price for a gallon. I am still using the botanicare cal-mag on my plants until I run out then I am going to probably switch to Remo's cal-mag just to keep the same line.. same with the astokelp and bloom booster.. but I have to use all my karma and hydroplex first. I looked at the nectar of the gods line, but never more than a glance.. I want to hear what you think for sure.

@@motaman311, based on wasting six or eight hours last night reading looking at shit.... CAL MAG's sometime carry a iron...WHICH WILL HIDE A MAG DEF...by making leaves LOOK GREEN TODAY..BUT YELLOW TO EARLY TOMORROW..... Well THATS WHY DR REPAIR SUCKS....TO MUCH IRON MAKES THE DEFIENCT LOOK LIKE IT WENT AWAY...while its really getting worse... THE HIGHWAY IS GETTING CLOGGED BY GARBAGE.... THE MAGNUM IS FOR MID TO LATE FLOWER ONLY....im not even dealing with MAG in the VEG...im using the LIQUID CALCIUM from Oregon's Only ITS LIKE CHALK WHITE....REAL CALCIUM....LIKE READY TO EAT NOW CALCIUM.......from what I pickes up is CAL MAG's are ALL FUCKING GARBAGE....they are for SUSTEMS THAT USE NITRATES AND SLTS TO MOVE NUTRIENTS....while...Oregon's only uses CALCIUM TO TRANSLOCATE OTHER NUTRIENTS... I bought a gallon for $60.....ITS WHAT I NEED SO MY PLANTS DOT STRETCH IN SEEDLING EARLY FLOWER AND GET FATTER SOLID STEMS....my substrate has the needed mag for veg and calcium for flower... Im basically trying to get to where I add CALCIUM TO WATER IN VEG....AND MAGNESIUM TO WATER IN FLOWER....then have a couple JACK THIS BITCH UP WITH STEROID PRODUCTS THAT GET HAMMERED IN ONCE OR TWICE WITH A MASSIVE SOAK.... I like these ORGANIC PRODUCTS....5% HUMIC ACID...ZEUS JUICE...0.5% Kelp Extract......LOOKS LIKE DEAD OLD BLACK BLOOD THATS NOT DRY YET...dont ask....ive been in mortuaries many a times..... You will get MUCH BETTER BUDS WITH NO MORE EARLY LEAF FADE....it was what $16 for MAGNUM a quart......im also getting the 0-15-15 Crystal Blast..... 2ml of Demeter's liquid calcium and medusas magic was 270ppm in a half gallon..STRONG STUFF.......perfect for the clones first feeding....THEY ARE ALIVE.....time to take more...

Well I can say raising PH for sure boosted my BULK and trichome production.... I found two interesting things....ONE DURING VEG...YOUR PH SHOULD GO UP....as the plant uses more ACIDIC nutrients during VEG....and during FLPWER PH SHOULD DROP....since thevp'ant is USING MORE ALKALINE NUTROENTS.....leaving the acidic stuff behind.... So my run off in flower should be about one point lower....BUT MY PH BUFFER UP...... I USED 711ph....THEY BLEW UP OVER NIGHT.....best growth in a week for sure.......I was a little locked up At end of stretch or RIGHT before....GO AS HIGH A PH AS POSSIBLE.....thats what I'm doing.....for me that 7.0+- Well my SNOW CONED TOPS SAY IT WORKS BETTER.... Hope all is well up there

@@motaman311, well it is possible...based on stress...I dont see anything like a TRANY...usually their asses are blown out nothing like that here.... Its weird???? TWO PLANTS.....but IRON GIRL.....and FASTBERRY NO......this was EARLY GERMINATION.....they ARE GOING TO BE BIG....AND HAVE STRIPES ON THEM..... MORPHEUS IS FIVE WEEKS PUT FROM FLUSH.....probably....THATS A HUGE SEED FOR AN AUTO..... I think the photos THAT MY FRIEND TALKS ABOUT HIS HIGH THC HERMIE PLANTS...maybe he didn't give me Zkittlez..and this is their purple cookies.????and it kicked some pollen at flip????? I don't se a MAJOR BUNCH....but if I get hundreds....WELL I HAVE TO GROW A SIDE BY SIDE....I think ITS A CHEMICAL PHENO RANDOM SEED PRODUCTION LIKE YOU SAID.....I mean they CHEM UP PLANTS to get fem seeds don't they.??? I ONLY SEE LIKE THREE....BUT WHO KNOWS... I DONT NEED A GORDY OF WEED...JUST A HALF GORDY AND A TEENAGER OF TRICHOME DUST......1/16th of a GORDY one oz...... Well if so I will let you have a handful....
motaman311
motaman311commented5 years ago
@@Wilson_McNugget, normally it's only a couple things that will cause it to make seeds. Pollinated from a male, stress causing to hermie, or just the plant doing it at the end of its lifecycle. Nanners could be in the bud or it burst and now is gone. It happens with feminized seeds and stress in flower. They stress the plant to make feminized seeds so many think it causes them to hermie easier than straight run plants
Wilson_McNugget
Wilson_McNuggetcommented5 years ago
@@@motaman311, no it is pretty interesting and makes sense WHEN YOU KNOW AND THINK ABOUT IT.....its like ok yeah...I see why.... So in veg the plant eats more ACIDIC nutrients....leaving behind more ALKALINE nutrients...so pH will drift Up in veg usually.... In Flower...the plant uses more Alkaline nutrients and leaves more acidic stuff behind making the pH drift DOWN during flower...... Yup...THATS THE BEEF RIGHT THERE.....look at this UPTAKE CHART...ITS PRETTY GOOD...I SAY PERFECT ON pH for soil and hydro...for VEG.... UPON FURTHER REVIEW...A MIRCLE HAS HAPPENED...A VIRGIN BIRTH MORPHEOUS HAS A SEED....NO NANNETS OR BALLS OR HERMIES....BUT A SEED....ON A TOP...BUT A LOWER TOP.....CLEARLY A SEED....ITS GETTING BIG.....LIKE AS BIG AS THEY WERE....white with some green tinting.... Well how about that????? Is it possible A PHOTO WAS MALE...BUT TRAINING FLIPPED IT????? and it pollinated but I dont have sacks any place....Not that I know of.????? whelp Im going TO FEED THE SEED https://forum.grasscity.com/attachments/ph-chart-jpg.2574219/

@@Wilson_McNugget, i dont get that precise with it. The PH meter is probably off .1 or so each time. As long as im in the range i dont mess with it. It isnt good to keep adjusting the PH.. If its really low in the morning (5.4 or lower) i will only bring it up to 5.7/5.8 at first then later try to get it up to 6-6.1.. Its not good to do huge swings and the buffers can cause nutrient lockout.. It's not that bad though. Many days i dont have to touch the reservoirs.

@@@motaman311, More strains I need to try. I've had Super Lemon Haze once and enjoyed it very much. I guess in my top five I've have to say Pink Kush, Fire OG, Rockstar, Chernobyl (the finest sativa I've smoked) - and OG Nectar (got it from a dispensary once and have never seen it again). All the strains are on my bucket list. LOL.

@stunflower, I find it more Mint than chocolate.. still needs a bit of time to cure though, so that might come through. Top 5 depending on mood in no order: Super Lemon Haze, Alien Rock Candy (cant find it anymore and think it is discontinued), LA Confidential, Ocean Grown Cookies, and probably Alien Rift.. Mostly OG's I guess. What are yours?

Awesome! Way to go! What do you think was the main cause of the low yield? Pulling it early wouldn't be that much of a loss in yield. Although there were issues, it seems like you were diligent and caught them early. My Chocolate Mint seeds haven't arrived yet and I don't think they're going to at this point. I'll push it back as I've still got Blueberry Headband on the go (Mmmmm!) and Kali Mist and DinaMed on deck. Will have to wait till late next season now.
motaman311
motaman311commented5 years ago
@DjDaveAtHome, the hermie caused the low yield. Pretty confident. I got less than half of my last 4x4 yield. They stop focusing so much on weight and go to seed production. Maybe some more aggressive defoliation early and lollipopping. Ive heard good things about kali mist.. And the headband you have looks great too.
