These past few weeks have had me banging my head against the wall over this plant.
I have figured it out thankfully...
In the last week, I thought the light was burning her. It was strange because her tent-mate (Spliff Seeds Amnesiac) was doing fine. Amazing actually.
Then some leaves began clawing, only on the top of the plant. Tent-mate was going strong.
Decided this strain may be more sensitive to nutes (even though I’m using organics) so I pulled all nutes two weeks ago and only have been using water. Burning progressed.
So there I was, medicated and staring at her, as one does. Watching her leaves blow in the oscillating fan breeze. And then, like lightening, it hit me. Exactly where the fan was blowing on her was where she was burnt. The other plant was closest to the fan, and it was blowing right over her. Truthfully, I have never had a fan running. Knowing my luck, posting every week like this, I figured I better get one going to spare myself the embarrassment of mold. I googled “Wind Burned Cannabis,” and it was like I was looking at my plant on google, right down to the spots and clawing. Lesson learned!! I will be trying to find a smaller fan and even then probably not point it right at either one of them.
I shut the fan off five days ago, and there has been no further burning. I am confident I have got to the bottom of the issue, FINALLY!
I hope the yield hasn’t been hurt, and that I caught it in time. Some pistils are starting to turn a vibrant orange, and there is some frosting starting to happen. I am past the half way point but, I expect it to take the majority of the month (February) to really get the flowers plumped. I’m actually expecting the main cola to develop fine, but the fans and sugars will look pretty sad😔
The lower flowers are staying pretty small. These were the ones out of the wind, so I think it’s just genetics. It’s probably a side effect of flowering so early. Her lineage is meant to grow huge.
Hopefully the next update will have no more drama. The fan is off for now. I flirted with the idea of pointing it at a wall and just letting it produce some side breeze, but I’m a little gun shy. We will see!
