This week went well for Little Girl, she’s still outside and seems to have adjusted by not showing any negative signs. She isn’t branching out yet. Will keep on.
Big Girl is going great after her deficiencies were balanced out. Unfortunately, some leaf discolorations from deficiencies don’t recover so I trimmed those leaves off. I found a small patch of mold on a flower and trimmed that branch off. The window was left open a couple nights before that mold appeared so I am sure the temperature changes resulted in that mold.
I decided to harvest everything above that patch of mold because it was 70%cloudy and 30% Amber. I triple washed those flowers and they are drying.
Now the rest of the lower buds can see the light!
I like doing staggered harvest I think it allows me to get a larger quantity of better bud.
I believe that the calcium and magnesium deficiencies are from not watering frequently enough. I think the water helps move the nutrients through the soil and keeps them from getting locked up in the soil.
It’s a fine balance the watering program! Not too much and not too little.... I will try a bottom watering program next time and a slower top watering program. I tend to rush through the watering, maybe if I go slower it will help the water disburse more evenly allowing the plants to take up the nutrients in the soil better. I really tried to do a soil only run by adding/recharging the soil every week. But there were deficiencies so I added some nutrients to the water to try to correct those. I also think that a five gallon pot was better for the Northern Lights. If it were outdoors I would use a 17gallon pot or plant in the ground.
Don't stress over it too much cannabis can take P.H. as low as 4 - 9 as high before damage occurs
never had a problem running at 7 myself
if your that worried feed in at 6.1 the sort of recommended level see what your run of is then
you could fuss and fart about trying to get it right but you will always find a difference with the run off because of the growth mediums
Congratulations to the big girl ~ Bless the little girl, and hope the growers stay safe and healthy. I seems have a lots of questions, sorry I'm very new for growing but full of interested.
@TessaMaria,Me 2, thank you for your kind and detailed reply, I learn a lot from your journal. Will you continue update new growth process? I want to follow you🙌lol
@TessaMaria,that's good advice! I always thought it was necessary to use insecticides to make mold disappear, but that would also cause some damage to the plants.😄
@Sunlike2020,
You can do that but it’s better if you cut two inches below the mold because it has less of a chance of coming back in that area. If I have mold, I make sure to cut two inches below the mold spot and toss that part in the garbage carefully not allowing any of the mold the touch any other parts on the plant.
@Sunlike2020
Yes I use tap water for triple washing the trimmed buds at harvest and yes it is because of the mold.
It is unsafe to smoke the mold, so the triple wash makes sure that any mold gets killed off.
The wash can be done on any Freshly harvested buds. I do the triple wash on all my outdoor grown buds and it cleans off all the dust and debris the plant collects over time. If makes the buds smoke really smooth as well!😃😃
@Sunlike2020,
Hello, the branch cracked because I pulled it too far when I was training it. It can happen if you pull it too tight. It’s not a good idea to do that on accident. Sometimes people do it on purpose but for my case it was an accident and it stunted there growth on that branch. 😃

Watered with Bloom, Microblast and great white. Placed fabric pots in five gallon plastic bags.
Big girl is looking much better
PH of watering was 6.5
I started an Epsom salt folliar spray today, used 1/2tsp Epsom salt and 1 liter of water. For Big girl she responded well her leaves started going up more and getting more uniform green color. I also trimmed some inside bud sites that don’t get any light. Just a few so she doesn’t get shocked. Her flowers are starting to smell up the area. Exciting stuff!
