Got them in 5 gal fabric within first week if not the first few days. One I have running a super soil, will get back with brand as it's store bought. The other is straight fox farm ocean forest. Super soil is also cut with fox farm ocean forest as well. Water minimally, no nutes for either, ph balance my well water for the ocean forest and straight well water for the super soil. My well water comes in at 6.8-7.0 pretty regularly, but super soils, I've been told, not to balance ph of water and allow the substrate to buffer.
Started light nutes for the one this week. Myco plus for both, just picked some up. Never used it before. Began Lst this week. I hate to say it, but little Nuter Bomb is pulling ahead. Definitely was more aggressive with the lst on her. Super Bomb just can't seem to grab ahold. The stalk is very loose in the soil for some reason. Not worried about it, just interesting. Light feeding and watering, cruise control.
Flowering has begun, dang no joke on these autos, it's great! Old school hash smell coming out on these girls. At least that's what I get. Buds are forming, training is basically done, just pretty much on autopilot again for a while. Keeping up with a light feeding and watering, alternating cycle.
I think I'm overwatering a bit, they have bounced back and are very perky again. Going to slow up a bit on water schedule. Still battling slow growth and a yellowing problem on one that I may have caused or a def of some kind. Working on it. I'll definitely get something from these girls, but not expecting much. They have a lot of filling up to do in a short period of time, and at this rate, I believe I have stunted them. Live and learn.
Tough week for sure. Woke up the start of this week to what appeared to be a deficiency. Turns out, my ph meter is off by a whole point basically, so I have a wide spread ph issues on my hands. Caught, fixed it, and hopefully moving on without too much stunt. Getting a solid smell of pine, gas, and what I seem to keep calling "old school hashish". Buds are getting a bit more solid now but all in all, mostly just pistils, hoping to see some stacking very soon. Other than the ph issue everything is OK, already ready to start my next auto as I've learned so much from this one. Stunt or not, going to keep chugging along as I haven't had too many other hiccups. An overwatering issue an this ph issue has been mostly it. May not train quite so aggressively, but yeah, I probably still will. Haha.
Man......... I can not stress the importance of ph meters!! One broke and my plan b one was off a lot more than I thought. Super soil hasn't had any issues, just staying small and compact. I know it's doing better all in all, but I will probably not spend the money on that product again. I'll try to include the brand at some point. If the ph issue would not have gotten so out of hand, the nute Bomb would have killed it. It's still kicking and I have flushed it, but the ph seems to keep rising back up in 24 hrs. So we'll see how this goes, this is a learning experience for sure. I'm guessing 2 weeks and we're about done. So I'll limp across the finish line with her. Hahaha. Nah, it's not THAT bad.
So, after probably one the most frustrating weeks of growing, im kicking off week 8 with a brand new ph meter and recalibrated the others. Yeah plural. And they were both off. I don't want to talk about it anymore hahaha. She appears to be turning around. Last feeding the beginning of this. Will continue with bembe and water the next few days and then straight water and a solid flush beginning next week or the end of this one. Def have a nice smell going, buds have started filling out and maturing well over the last week or so. With the ph issue, she seems a bit behind the super soil lady. But I will admit, larger buds. Have checked and rechecked trichs, and super soil is getting clipped this weekend I believe. As much as I'd rather cut them both at the same time, I may stagger a week between the two as it's looks like about a week behind. Though the trichs are almost all cloudy at least, so we'll see. Oh, these pics are from right at the beginning of the week too. As with everything else with these girls, it happened quick. Maturation that is. So possibly cutting down a week ish from the most ripe shots. My phone is taking horrible pics all of the sudden, so close ups are garbage. Very sorry guys, will work on alternative to wrap this up with. Take care and good luck to all. Let's make a 2020 a year we will remember as the year we all came together.
Still waiting on dry/cure to give a full quality report, but from what I've tasted so far its not bad. Mellow high, very distinct taste to it. When harvesting, the craziest smell came from this strain. Can't describe and have never smelled before. It's a good smell, but extremely distinct.
This strain was not what I would call the easiest in the world. That being said, it was not difficult either. Out of the two I grew here, one was sensitive and needed attention more than the other hands down. But, was a bigger flower across the board. That one also finished first, not by much, but it had cloudy trichomes earlier. It however, did not seem to have the red stigmas as dark and prominent either. Also seemed to not be as dense of a flower. This strain has a decent smell from early flower, it seeks up on you. Came home from work one day and boom, it went from "eh" to "hey, you growing weed bro? " so I ran the carbon filter for the last half. I would recommend going easy on both watering and feeding, sensitive but hardy plant. Pretty short strain all in all I think and they both took lst no problem. They also took the topping well. Just make sure you are paying attention to timing. Had a lot of fun with this, can't wait to run again.
