All in all, it was exactly what you would expect from a quality breeder. Plants outperformed my expectations given the size I put them to flower. Not overly smelly in full flower, but strong enough..clones root quick.. heavy leafer in late veg, to mid flower, needing heavy deleafing. All in all an excellent strain.
Harvest took about 5 hrs. Very sticky, had to clean the snips several times per plant.. 12 plants harvested, took a few early buds for QC test..will update the effects after dry..pretty decent amount of buds.. more than expected.. definitely keeping this one around.. will fill in more after drying.. cheers!
Picking up a KeyBox test kit later in the week.. fingers crossed they're over 30%!
Smoke report, Ash is fairly white, considering how much resin builds up.. taste varies among phenos, 3 being very similar tropical pineapple/mango pine diesel, A,B,E. C being acrid and chemicalish. And D tasting like Sprite!
Very heavy buzz. Without a doubt great for insomnia.. half heady sativa with heavy indica effects.. best of both worlds.. I comprehend why they chose future as the name, it's a difinite time warp smoking this stuff.. what seems like an hour ends up being more like 4-5.! Catapults you into the FUTURE.
Cheers, definitely keeping this one around!
Keep it Green! DWCHC 👈👍
Minor update, test kits are on back order, might hang on till the next round of Future later this year. Potency is definitely way up there. One pheno has turned a strawberry terp profile during cure. So far, no seeds
Update.. so from start to finish, the plants were never sprayed, not pesticides or water,or anything else..the leaves and flowers stayed dry throughout....only thing added to the rezivoir was the fertilizer blend of Calcium nitrate in both veg and Bloom, potassium nitrate in veg, and both veg and Bloom get sulfate of potash, mono potassium phosphate, magnesium sulfate and chelated trace elements, all of them in varying amounts. pH balance was attained using phosphoric acid. The natural air mixture and nothing else. So as far as not being non organic (properly explained by the absence of carbon based nutrients and carbon based organisms in the rezivoir solution.) Carbon being sourced mainly from atmospheric CO2, the solution is a brine of mineral salts, not 'chemicals' per say as they're naturally sourced. That's it. Very clean smooth well flushed sensimilla.
lol i do and i dont sometimes depends on how shitty the city's with the water that week, my thing is adding plenty of beneficials , they'll usually keep the pH buffered, otherwise you gotta go the additive or pH down route... no shame in that ! 👊
Well A and E are clearly the fasted to flower and the most resinous. But B, C and D may take longer to ripen but could be the killers! I would wait until harvest to decide but you will obviously have to take clones from all of them before you know. 🌱👍
@L3G4CY87, I was offered 6g/day which would have doubled my amount of plants to 30, which I might do come renewal, but truthfully what I have takes up enough time and offsets the cost of medicine I'm going to assume by visual of my crop, about 2/3 my needs. I am not using the full amount of plants I'm allowed due to symmetry and space I'm working with.. so when I have my sit down with my physician, we're going to sort this out for my renewal. Until then, I'm very greatful to have what I have and the hobby is a great positive way to pass time and gain life skills and character!
Ya I get what you mean, less maintenance and more quality buds that way with small plants. Pretty decent LED with nice design, I've seen it's youtube channel. You know you could increase your plants license qty, there is some consultant agencies that I know in Montreal that could help if you want.
@L3G4CY87,. Yeah, but not exactly a 'proud' Canadian..Ive tried all heights up to 2 1/2 feet going into flower... And the goal now is to bring them down to the point there is no popcorn buds, that they all finish to the Bottom without a lolipop.. 4 1/2 inches was a bit small..think 6 inch with branches no longer than 1 inch are the ideal size for my setup.. will be trying 10 inchersnext time but have a feeling 6 is the sweet spot..
@HerbalEdu,yeah, I wanted to get a phenotyping, so I put them in at 4 to 5 inches.. they're at 14-15 now. Lots of light all around, almost wasted space, having 4 good branches at 6 inches going in would fill it nicely.. I think with the light I got that will be the standard here on in..
nice setup. i see your water is only 15 celcius. mine is 17 and i panic already, it seems like my lower leaves are growing a lot instead of the stems and new growth weird i tought it was from the cold
@Reaper,some strains will do that.. in veg, I'll deleaf the top constantly until the side branches catch up, or recently, top them to 4 lower lateral branches and bend them out into a cross pattern roughly 4-5 inches apart. This gives me 4 nice top colas per plant. Then I remove/thin all branches from the lower canopy that might become a cluster of dead air, and train it for flower. Once in flower, I just make sure no leaves are laying on a bud, or against another leaf to generate wet spots from transpiration.. lower leaves get huge, but once the selected branch has its own fans coming from secondary buds, I remove the original base fans as well... Hope this helps..
Nice, hard to say from one pic which pheno is the best.. maybe the fatier and stickier one =)
Look forward to that THC test result!!! And the next Anesia grows
Anesia seeds strikes again!
Great job handling them.
They filled in nicely. I am thinking that they will be nicely stacked just enough but not over damp.
@GYOweed,from my experience, total THC is like saying total sugar in a meal..does it mean sweet sugar that is pleasing to taste, or just starch which is more like filler..is it vanilla or chocolate, moist or dry...in a nutshell, it's the entourage effect of the amount of THC, not THCA or THCVA, as well as the volatile oils, esters, alcohols, and terpenes..
Essentially, you could test a plant at 35% total THC compounds, with a true THC at 11%, and it would be a weaker strain than one that tested 22% total THC compounds with a true THC at 15%.. then the limonene, and pinene have an add effect to the psychoactive properties among others...
Genetics is only 1/3 of the picture, phenotype being the second third and the ability of the grower to get the plant to express it's true potential is the last third...
@vasileiadisv56, these were clones, put to flower at first sign of roots able to touch the water.. so essentially the same thing only these are ready to flower, from seed it's about 5-7 weeks before it decides sex.. always female when using feminized seeds but still takes 6 ish weeks before they'll flower from seed
@L3G4CY87,hey man, picking up the test box sometime overhe next 5 days.. it's a bit of a drive to go get it and I'm working nights at the moment... Will keep you all posted... The test does terpenes as well as THC, CBD and he like..
@Fruitgrower, I can only take 2 clones and the rest have to go.. pheno E is tough as nails, average yields, extreme resin production, smells like the advertised terp profile, and preliminary taste tests show a pineapple mango pine turpentine flavor with a hint of skunk. Pheno A is similar in physical characteristics, terps are more wood, Earth turpentine, skunk with mild fruity notes. Flavor is earthy fruity turpentine. Both are by my estimate a 60/40 indica dominate.. B is similar terps to E , probably 80/20 indica but low yields and a crybaby when it comes to nutes and environmental.. first one to put up a fuss when anything changes.. pretty high resin. D is a fast grower, big buds, more a lemon, pine, slight sweet turpentine diesel flavor and smell with light citrus berry. Probably 70/30 sativa with looser bud formation.. later finish towards the end of 10 weeks. C is a strange one. Lemon sweet diesel berry pine turpentine. Late to show flowers by a week, but... Flowers resemble indica yet have a growth habit of sativa... Quite large and probably dense flowers if allowed to go the full 12 weeks estimate it could. Only thing is, it's too long of a flowering time to mix with anything else I want or have. As foroverall smoke quality.. I'd go E, A, B, D, C.. D and C taste quite chemical and fuel which I don't much like. So all being said.. tentatively speaking until a full proper taste test, A and E will fill the spots.. love to keep em all but my licence has limited number allowed... Happy and very grateful for the phenos I have to choose from... Decided soon..
@Fruitgrower,umm. I actually did clones of each prior to flowering,. It'll be a culling of the undesirable phenos.. it is what it is.. this will give me my three mother's, plus 12 babies to flower totalling my licence limit of 15..still have room for 4 more using the recreational limit as well but I'm saving those spots for a rainy day. Anesia hooked me up with 7 different genetics to try, can only run pairs of 6 of them this go and saving the strawberry tree for a later date as it's 10-11 maybe 12-13 weeks depending on pheno. So I've really got to micromanage this all to make it work properly under my licence.. going to double my limit on my renewal so I can start playing with breeding..
@DWCHC, I mean you want to take a few clones of the chosen strains incase one fails. But you'll have to take "monster clones" right? As they are in flower now.
