Grow# 8- Original Auto Russian

Here we are for Grow# 8 and I'm even more excited than before, because we've been given the strain info!!! For those of you are checking out my diaries for the first time and might be wondering what I'm so excited about, well, I've been given the opportunity to test out FastBuds New Original Auto line before being released sometime next year. For this diary, I decided to go with there Original Auto Russian. From the name alone you can tell that it has White Russian genetics, but in an autoflower, so basically an indica hybrid, that's supposed to be ready to harvest in just 8 weeks. So as usual ... Before I get started with the germination process down below will be a list of the equipment I'll be using : Hydro Planet 2x4x5 Grow Tent 3-Gallon Plastic Pot Happy Frog Soil Vivosun 300 watt Full Spectrum Grow Light Vivosun 4" inch Exhaust Fan Vivosun Carbon Filter Vicks Cool Mist Humidifier 2 Desk Fans Acurite Hygrometer For germination, we went with the basic soaking in ph balanced water for 48 hours and then it was off to the paper towel method before being placed in its final pot. After coming out of the glass and being placed in the paper towel it only took about 24 hours for the seed to get a tap root that was 1 cm long, it then went into a 3-gallon pot with Happy Frog, I made sure not to bury the seed too deep so I went with placing it about 1.5 cm deep. After I took a spray bottle and gave it a good misting to make sure that soil was moist enough for the seed to survive., and sure enough 72 hours, we had life !!! Since seedlings don't require too much of anything at this stage, I just made sure that I misted about twice a day until day 4. On Day 4 the seedling was given 250 ml of pure water with a ph of 6.1 this process was repeated again on Day 6. Overall it was a very easy week our seedling is growing just as it should be even working on its third node. I've been able to keep the grow environment stable with no issue's so I guess I can say that I'm off to a great start. Here we are at the end of Week 2 for the Original Auto Russian and things have been smooth sailings. This week on Day 11 she was given her first dose of nutrients with her watering and boy did she love it, in fact she loved it so much she grew another two inches this week. I've been able to keep the grow environment very stable which is only helping with growth along with FastBuds great genetics. So far she's growing exactly how she should be, staying low and short with tight internodal spacing until the stretch comes. Now it's time for my favorite part of my diary... "S/O TIME"!!! Week 3 for the Original Auto Russian has finally come to an end and I must say that It's kind of been up and down for this lady. Last week at first she seemed as if she received her first feeding with no issue, that was until around Day 17, I noticed that she was darker than the other ladies that I'm growing and wasn't as perky as usual, so I contacted FastBuds and found out that she had too much nitrogen, along with her not liking the lights being at 18" inches away from the canopy, which I raised back to 24" inches. By Day 19 she was already perking back up. With everything going on with her I gave her only pure water this week, she got 250ml on Day 17 and 500ml on Day 2. Even though she wasn't the happiest this week she is showing sex and giving off a weak smell along with growing 4" inches so she is now 8" inches tall. I also gave her a small defoliation removing four leaves total to give the future flower sites more light. Now it's time for my favorite part of my diary... "S/O TIME"!!! We've reached the end of week 4 for the original auto Russian, and this lady has began to flower. Over the last seven days, she's went from 8" inches to 13.5" inches tall, so a total of 5.5" inches she's grown. On Day 23 gave her light defoliation removing a few leaves from blocking flower sites along with leaves that were dying of from lack of light at the bottom of the plant. On Day 24 she was watered with pure water that had a ph of 6.3, then on Day 28 she was given a feeding, due to here having too much nitrogen before I'm taking it light with the nutrients, but with her flowering, she's gonna need more but we'll see what she tells me she needs. We've come to the end of Week 5 for the Original Auto Russian, and she's in full-blown flower. I was going to defoliate her once last time like I did the Auto Critical but due to the way she grew I didn't have to do anything but remove two leaves. She's supposed to be done in 56 days so this little lady has about 3 weeks left. She's already showing some trichomes on the inner parts of the flower sites. She also grew 7 inches this week making 20.5" inches tall. On Day 30 we gave this lady a normal watering of pure water with a ph of 6.3, then on Day 33, she was giving a feeding. Now that we're in the home stretch there's not going to much to do but let those flower sites bulk up before harvest. Very pleased with the results for this lady this week. Even though the temperature went up in the tent she was fine with it. Buds sites are swelling and trichomes are showing. She seems to be right on schedule, even showing yellowing leaves from lack of nitrogen since she's in flower. Just gave her a normal watering and her week 6 feeding. This lady has been basically been in cruise control. She's looking great, trichomes stacking up, along with the buds sites getting massive. Gave her what should be her last feeding this week, probably going start flushing soon. I've also been slowly removing the yellow leaves that are dying off which is normal around this time since it's so close to harvest. Other than that she's doing GREAT !!! This gorgeous lady is almost done and boy am I anxious, she just looks and smells so good and has some of the biggest buds that I've ever grown, the main cola is almost as big as my forearm. ( I'm not a very big guy) Lol. This week we started her flush, so she's been getting nothing but water, just letting her finish up at this point. Now it's time for my favorite part of my diary... Very proud of how this plant turned out. It took a total of 63 days to harvest ( which is still crazy short even for an auto) followed by 9 days of drying, I decided to cut the plant as a whole and do a light trim prior to drying which really helped the plant dry slow and in return, I didn't have a hay smell at all during the dry process. I plan on doing a month cure before touching it, of course, I tried a bud once it was dry but no more until then. Smoke Report: Very smooth, sweet, with a citrus sour taste. The high was just right, not too overwhelming to the point where you want to go to sleep, but it was top-notch quality. Definitely reminds of some good old school bud !!! Bag Appeal/Bud Shape: Could have been better, even after doing a trim after it dried it still didn't wow me when looking at it. It grew with one nice size main cola with some of the densest lower buds I've ever seen. Issues: The only issue I had was she was sensitive to nitrogen early on but after that, she did wonderful not another issue. I would like to say thank you to FastBuds again, you guys really outdid yourself with the genetics for the Original Line.
