TeflonDonFarms Couldn’t wait to give Fastbuds a try. Been following countless diaries and am super stoked to see what kind of beautiful nuggs this will bring. Decided on Pineapple Express because i love fruity smelling buds! I always lay down a layer of food grade diatomaceous earth to prevent any bugs from nesting in my soil. I’ve had problems with thrips in the past. While baby Pineapple was germinating i unleashed some beneficial nematodes in my soil to also prevent soil born pests that come with soil sometimes. Also super excited to see what a 7gallon smart pot will do to help this pretty lady. Largest pot I’ve grown in was a 5 gallon smart pot. Thinking here on out it’s 7 gal and up or nada!

TeflonDonFarms Can honestly say that so far (even though it’s only been 2 weeks) she is growing 2x faster then any other plant I’ve grown in my short experience! Nothing really to say besides she is healthy and looking mint!

TeflonDonFarms Still looking super healthy. Finally got the lights down to 18 inches after slowly lowering them down since she was a seedling. Growing at a phenomenal rate. Actually in disbelief at the speed in which she grows. Been throwing some bud candy in with the Advanced Nutrients Root Excel Trio because I read that it actually helps them out.

TeflonDonFarms At the end of the week she noticeably started flowering. So exciting!! Fastest to flower yet! Can’t stress enough how amazed I am that she is growing at this rate! This week I only fed her the sensi bloom grow Part A and B.

TeflonDonFarms Half way trough week 5 I figured I’d post some pictures because she has really stretched out and starting to get ready to bud hard. Also turned off the LEDs for better pictures. Natural light sucks where I’m at so hopefully this is good enough! End of week 5. Still cannot believe how fast and big she is growing. Bud sites are popping up everywhere. FastBuds seeds are the real deal. I defoliated her a little bit at the very very bottom. When I water her water splashes the bottom leaves and they yellowed a little. Cleaned her up nice and won’t have that problem anymore. Super siked to see what she produces!!

TeflonDonFarms -Half way through the week. She is a monster! Looking very healthy. Starting to get a little smell. Might have to start training her in so she doesn’t out grow my box. -End of the week and she has surpassed all my expectations already. Now I’m just hoping I can fend off this cold weather for another couple weeks. She responds great to the nutrients I give her. Hats off to the Fastbuds crew they’re the real deal! -Some last minute pictures with the LEDs on. I can’t take her out of the box due to cold weather. -Just realized that I’ve had the thermometer on the floor which is substantially cooler than where my lady is. I took a string and hung it from the ceiling to about midway through the plant and it’s reading 80 degrees. So basically I’ve been worried about the cold everyday when in actuality they’ve been better than good this whole time!!!! Which also means a lot of my temps are wrong. It’s been holding 80 during the day and 75 at night. I’ll fix it all when I post some more pictures wednesday! This Holmes Bathroom heater is doing its job and then some!!!

TeflonDonFarms Halfway through week 7. Couple pictures from Tuesday. Gonna upload more when I get back home to her. Can’t raise the lights anymore. Hoping she is done stretching. She takes up every bit of that 4x5 box. Couldn’t be happier with this grow so far. I think next time I’ll go down to 5 gal smart pots this way I can pump out two of them. Still in disbelief she has grown this fast and started budding that fast as well!! I’m feeding her 2 gallons every 2 or so days. She is a very thirsty girl and let’s me know when she is hungry too (leaves curl down). I’ve been slowly defoliating the bottom of her. I cut a couple under grown budds from underneath as well. Not sure how she’d respond if I went scissor happy. I also can’t say enough about Advanced Nutrients. Since I made the switch I can tell her leaves are always praying up and overall health seems through the roof! She really is a monster. 31 inches wide by 36 inches tall. She is stacking nicely. Did my best with pictures. Can’t tell if the flash on the phone helps or hurts the pictures. End of the week- She is doing awesome. Blowing up pretty fast and there is a serious citrus pine smell coming off her when you bump into a budd or it wipes on your finger. For the most part it seems as if she is loving life!!

TeflonDonFarms Week 8 and she is really starting to smell up the box. Getting a serious citrus pine smell. I picked up some free Sea Green (as long as I paid the shipping which was 5 bucks. Definitely worth it!!) from Primordial Solutions and used it for the first time. Hats off to the Primordial crew I would definitely recommend Sea Green to anyone because in the two feedings I’ve used it my girl has love love loved it. The leaves prayed up way more than usual. Her overall health seemed to improve and I honestly didn’t think her fine ass could get any better 😂😂, I was wrong!! She seems very happy and healthy so not much to report other than the NUGS LOOK TASTY!! Last day of the week and she developed a ton of orange pistols overnight.

TeflonDonFarms Mid week update. She is plumping up big time! The main cola is huge! It definitely steals the show. But there are some lower tier nugs that have fattened up nicely and it’s getting increasingly harder to wait until harvest!! I started to flush her this week using Flawless Finish from Advanced Nutrients so it’s basically a waiting game. The smell radiating from her is amazing! Its a deep citrus pine smell and then when you touch, or graze a bud you get that sweet smell. The sweet smell is very faint. I may or may not have snipped a bud for taste testing!!! 😝! Couldn’t be happier! Still in amazement with the FastBud Genetics! Hoping she keeps on swelling!! Last day of week 9. Still looking healthy minus the nutrient burn. She seems to be still swelling which is awesome! The frost is really settling in. I can’t even describe the smells coming off of her. She’s one sticky biotch too. Grazed a nug and damn near got stuck to it! Can’t wait for a proper cure and to throw it in the vaporizer. Bring on week 10!!

TeflonDonFarms Week 10 is coming to a close. The smell is unbelievable. I definitely got the skunk pheno. There’s hints of just straight skunk everywhere and then when you get close and put your nose to it you get a citrusy sweet smell. I gave her a quick trim so harvest won’t leave my fingers in knots. She’s coming down tomorrow and I cannot wait to dry and cure her out to vape it! Definitely a learning experience. I think I could have yielded double this if I didn’t over load the nutrients. Again it’s a learning experience. I’ll bounce back and make the adjustments.

Week 11. Harvest

Happy Harvest Day!

Overall she was a pleasure to grow. FastBuds definitely earned their name! The smell that was radiating from her was mouth watering. The buds ended up drying pretty thin and airy but that is completely my fault. I’m pretty sure I destroyed her with nutrients. Next time around I’ll be feeding much less and learn to use my PPM meter to get this down to an even better science. My space heater torched some buds so I definitely lost some weight. No excuses though couldn’t be happier that I have some FastBuds Pineapple Express! I’ll update with dry weight after a couple week cure. I’ll also update taste and smoke in a couple weeks after a nice cure. Probably add some more pictures! Put some Christmas lights on her quick with a buddy of mine and we mixed a little video. Short and sweet! Merry Christmas GrowDiaries! And a happy new year! Update week after harvest: Hung her for three days to dry. Then I jarred her but wasn’t in my curing zone. So I’ve been going back and forth with her leaving the jars open for 4-5 hours a pop. Yesterday I dumped her all out and let her air out for a little. I use a tiny hygrometer in the jars to check Relative humidity. I like my bud at 60%. Right now I got her to 65%. Another day or two of opening the jars for 4-5 hours and she’ll be in the cure zone. I’ll let her sit for a month (no doubt I’ll dip into it in a week or two for a taste test) popping the lid on the daily for 5-10 minutes. While I had her completely out of the jar I decided to do a quick weigh. A solid 151 grams. I’m impressed with that. She’ll lose a little more weight so that’s why I didn’t add it as the official dry weight. Also I said the buds were airy. I take that back jarring them early allowed them to puff up a little bit. Call it a Christmas Miracle!! Update: So I finally got all the jars in my cure zone which is 60% RH going off my mini hygrometer. They are anywhere from 56%-60%. She weighed in with a whopping 144 grams. I am super stoked by that number. The 7 gallon pot paid off! She hasn’t gotten her pineapple smell back. I’m positive in another couple weeks she will regain it with a proper long cure. For right now I just get that skunk earth smell. So my analysis on the smoke as of right now is a super good one. It’s a very clean smoke already which surprised me. Usually a little bite with only a week cure. But it was hella smooth. The high is an amazing one. Not overly energetic but just enough! I almost felt a tingly feeling in the knoggin which I attribute to a euphoric sensation. I was in a creative uplifting energetic mood! This is perfect for the afternoon before you head out for the day. It definitely had me laughing and a permanent shit eating grin on my face. I honestly can’t say enough good things. I’m super impressed with the FastBud genetics and also can’t say enough good things about the FastBuds crew. Their representative on GrowDiaries is awesome. I had a bunch of questions for him and they were answered incredibly fast despite the huge time difference! If your a beginner and want a hassle free strain with experts backing you the whole way I highly recommend Pineapple Express by FastBuds. I’ll update one more time in the coming weeks. So I felt the need to explain the new pictures. I have a picture of the two bowls stacked on the scale. I hit the tare button to zero it out. I then poured all the jars into the bowl. Then boom 144 grams. Also the ft squared option for the box kinda confused me so I put my square feet in. So if that doesn’t jive I apologize. Anyone that wants to help clarify please feel free! Final update: I grabbed a couple budds and took some pictures. So far the smoke is a great wake and bake for me. She hasn’t regained her pineapple smell YET! I have full confidence she’ll get a hint of that amazing citrus smell she had during flowering! I’m big on the cure so she’ll probably be in jars for the next 2-3 months. Like a fine wine she’ll get better with time! Well that’s pretty much a wrap! I hope you enjoyed this little trip. It for sure was fun as hell for me.

TeflonDonFarms I’ll update more info after a nice cure! Update: So in conclusion. Super easy Grow. She didn’t give me any problems. Only problems were the heater torching some buds. I put her in a 7 gallon smart pot just to see what an Autoflower would do. Well she paid off and then some! Ended up with 144 grams of some primo FastBuds!00

@Sineus, Thanks big dawg I appreciate that! I chose LEDs to keep my electric bill down. Yea hopefully they can keep improving them and close the gap! No complaints so far! Your right a lot of people are using LEDs.

Loving it mate, keep up the excellent work 😁👍. My next grow will be this plant, hope she turns out as well. What's your thoughts on topping the autos? Or just reckon run the lst?
TeflonDonFarms
TeflonDonFarms commented8y ago
@Lilman, I’m no expert by any means so any advice is from my limited experience. I’ve topped a couple of my autos with success. I had a Auto OG Kush plant that’s suggested height was higher than my box could handle so I topped her and had success. It’s pretty risky with Autos because you can’t control the veg part or any part for that matter (they have a mind of there own!?!?!?! 👀👻 ooooo creepy haha) so if you do it wrong it could be dentirmental to your plant and yeild. I’ve seen a couple start to flower after they were topped which isn’t good. At the same time some strains respond beautifully to topping so it’s preference and what your comfortable with. Personally if your growing FastBuds I wouldnt top her. There genetics are off the charts. There are also other ways to limit your girls height. For instance throwing a trellis net up or scrOG net (google scrOG net cannabis and click images). There are tons of methods to keep her shorter with out topping her. So I would say it depends on your circumstances. What’s your reasoning for it? Small grow box?
TeflonDonFarms
TeflonDonFarms commented8y ago
@Lilman, just checked out your plants and it looks like you have experience topping so that’s good. What size pot are you gonna run with it?
Lilman
Lilman commented8y ago
@TeflonDonFarms, man every bit of advice counts aye thanks😁, and yeah from doing bit of research seem pretty risky if you don't time it right. But saying that gotta risk it for the biscuit Haha. I'm thinking I might give the scrog a go because I've never done scrog, I was going to scrog those plant you've just seen but didn't think it'd fill it, aswell as I had a regular seed in there and didn't want it to turn male and have to pull it all down (which it did turn male haha so lucky). I'm running a 1.2m2 by 2m high so it's not to bad, was just thinking of trying to make as many colas as I can. I'm going to be running couple in 20l air pots and couple in 15l plastic pots but thinking of buying couple more air pots since I've had really good success with the one I have in it atm.
TeflonDonFarms
TeflonDonFarms commented8y ago
@Lilman, Yes, very risky. I’m sure you would time it right. But you have superior genetics in Fastbuds so I think the colas will be plentiful. I wouldn’t top her. Your right though you gotta take a chance and go for all of the biscuits😂😂!!! Thank god you didn’t throw up that net that would have sucked. I’ve only grown autos and I’ve found the bigger the pot, the more the soil, the happier the roots, the bigger the plant and the bigger the harvest. Although a ton of people produce from small pots so again this is what I’ve gained from autos! That’s a great call with the fabric pots. I’ve run some plastic pots right next to them and there’s no comparison the smart pot is way better in my opinion! 21l is close to 5 gallons right? If so your money big dawg! Should be plenty of dense as F*** colas! I’m excited to see it when you get on the FastBuds genetics!
Lilman
Lilman commented8y ago
Haha yeah was lucky and yeah 20l is close to 5 gallon. I'm.not running the fast buds I've gotten seeds for overseas so see how they go.
TeflonDonFarms
TeflonDonFarms commented8y ago
@Lilman, 5 gallon is perfect! I bumped up to a 7 just to see what the difference is between them. To big for my taste just because I have limited space. What strains ya gonna run instead of FastBuds? You should at least throw one Fastbud bean in and compare the growth to the others. You won’t regret it!
