Hi everyone (@herbalize, @tonino, @BigDaddyK, @Foresdesjesus, @GrimReefer69) Still growing strong and now @ 38 cm. Thinking I've been over watering this princess over the past two weeks so I've trial run backing away a little this week and now watering only when she feels light :) A few signs of beginning flowering, so touch wood it seems like the 12/12 hour light routine is working. I'm hoping this mini experiment pays off - it's all for a brain injury I had 5 years back. I'm now interested to see how long it takes to go through the flowering stage, and still hoping I'm in that stage already :) Staying on the Fox Grow Big for the next week and then Fox Bloom soon after. A run off reading came through @ 113 ppm on a TDS stick - does anyone know if this is good or bad? Thanks. Bunker :)

Hi everyone. @Jon-Do, @Herbalize, @GrimReefer69, @goarilla, @tonino @floresdejesus @bigdaddyk, I have a few questions about #trichomes and #flowering. - is it normal for trichomes to take a while turn from cloudy to brown? - should i be doing anything to encourage my trichomes to move on during flowering period? - is it possible to 'over-flower'? I.e. could I be allowing my plant too much time in flowering stage? Thanks, Bunker :)
BigDaddyK
BigDaddyKcommented7 years ago
@Bunker,Hi , in my experience certain brands of LED took longer to flower, i mean a lot longer, what LED do you have?,as for trichomes, they kind of go milky then orange , dark brown or black is not good.

Hi, Does anyone have any advise about soil? - I'm using this from online - 'Vitalink Professional Enriched Soil'. Apparently it has 4 weeks soil feed in it - does this mean I shouldn't be using other fertilizers at all? I.e. no plant bloom etc? - Also, it contains wood fibre, is this bad for growing in for our plants? Thanks, Bunker :)

@Bunker, Hello Bunker :) Yes no nutes for the first couple of weeks at least, and when you do use them use a quarter strength, and gradually build up to half strength, and keep a careful eye on them. I would suggest using BioBizz Light mix soil, or Plagron Light mix soil, these are highly recommended. Yeah so no nutes for first couple of weeks, and then add a very small amount to see how they do. Bloom nutes when they start flowering. Wood fibre is fine, I would also add 30% perlite to the mix in your soil next time, otherwise should be good to go, good luck!

funny story... Last night I got a little ahead of myself and cut off one of the top buds for a premature harvest... I noticed the tirchomes were on a 30:70 % percentage ratio in favour of the cloudy trichomes. Not much of a smoker myself so decided to make some canna-butter and extracted cbd into some coconut oil over a 4-5 hour time period. To cut a long story short, I tasted a small amount of butter in a strong coffee this am before heading into work. I've spent most of my day not answering questions asked by colleagues and twiddling my fingers smiling away to myself.... Note to self....don't have cannabutter in a strong coffee before heading into work,..even the low THC stuff affects me! #cannbutter #cbdcannabis #cbd Bunker ;)

Hi everyone (@tonino, @grimreefer69, @herbalize), is anyone able to provide some advise on my leaf colour? Recently noticed a change in leaf colour of my plant (but only on my lower leafs) - some have turned a very pale light green / yellow. Is this because I should be moving over to a flower ratio and my last nutrient isn't worth continuing with? Also, am I supposed to be encouraging my plant to move into flowering now by shortening my light timing? thanks. Bunker :)

She fattening nicely bro and you may just take yellowing leaves off dont worry about it she coming to the end of life cycle and really just need to focus the bud production just pull the yellowing leaves. And you may give her more than 2 weeks before flush her and flushing progress takes around 14 days. if you have hurry and to much impatient like me ๐Ÿ˜ please hold your self because last weeks give her real weight! why your main bud top looks a bit different? is that so close to the lights or fan? Good luck man wish you best of luck

@@frags, nice comments buddy :) Interesting points on the photosynthesis too - I'll bear this in mind. Microscope bought now...up to 1000x focus so I'll share some photos up on screen when important. Good to know that I can trim the top bud back a bit...at least I can see what this part looks like under microscope now :) I want to get the end part into a good finish as I've been growing this little princess for a while now...and she needs treating well until passing the finish line. You too mate, enjoy your Sunday. Bunker :)

Bunkercommented7 years ago
@Jaindoh, nice comments - much appreciated. I think the progress of this plant has mostly been down to asking questions to people on here...it is certainly a good community of similar interest :) I bought a microscope today (@ up to x1000) and it allows videos and photos too. I've been reading up on the trichomes and the importance of noting the cloudy / clear / musty differences - especially when it comes down to the rough balances between all of them is very importance to know what is the THC & CBD level. No doubt, when I get the microscope up and running I'll be sending out the information to everyone to see...in case it is useful to them. I'll be growing a similar batch next time...and I've taken note of your suggestions...cheers :) Bunker :)

@tonino @JUNGLE_B4RNS @BigDaddyK, thanks for the comments. Looks like the plant is enjoying the 12/12 hour more than the previous 18hrs routine :) I'll be moving from FoxFarm Grow Big (6-4-4) over to FoxFarm Bloom (at 2-8-4). I'm guessing this should be a gradual transition: Day one: 75%GrowBig:25%Bloom Day three: 75%:25% Day six: 50%:50% Day nine: 50%:50% Day twelve: 25%:75% Day fifteen: 25%:75% Does this sound accurate? Also, should I do this when I see my first bud-like...bud? I'm still learning...lots to learn... Thanks for the support, Bunker :)

@Bunker, they still use a lot of Nitrogen during the first 3 weeks of flowering to support the stretch... you can stick to your Veg nootz until end of week 3.

Hi everyone, I'm a little confused at the moment. The leaves on my plant appears to be very yellow in places - see day 32 photo. What is likely to be the main cause of this? Please help. Thanks, Bunker :) @Tonino @GrimReefer69 @Herbalize @Dinafem @CBD_Sweden
Herbalize
Herbalizecommented7 years ago
@Bunker, run off is the water that flows under the pot after watering it's good to test the ph and the ec of runoff, gives us good indication on the health of the plants
Bunker
Bunkercommented7 years ago
@Herbalize, thanks. My ph level is normally @ 6.5, I know this because I have to bring it down from 7.6 ph using a ph down drop. The website @Herbalize mentioned also shares lots about ph levels in there too and it seems to be linked with phosphorus levels too. Can I ask, what is ph run off? Thanks again for all of the advise. Bunker :)
Bunker
Bunkercommented7 years ago
@Tonino, thanks. I've checked out the website you'd sent over and that seems to match my problem. The good news is that I have some phosphorus booster, but I've never used much of it in the past as I thought the fertilizer within the soil I'm using would be enough. So now I guess this would be a good trial run to see if it works. I'll start at applying 25% and see how this progresses. Also, I'd forgotten that I'd moved this plant from one pot to another, which also seems to link with the root damage explained on this website. Cheers, Bunker :)

Yeah , your leaves are full of water , I can tell from the speed bumps. I can tell from the stripes who start to appear that your light might be close either. Otherwise you got a very nice looking Sativa ๐Ÿ‘

@Bunker,just lift the pot, if itโ€™s heavy it means itโ€™s full of water, if the pot is light it means it needs water ๐Ÿ˜‰

@JUNGLE_B4RNS, thanks for the tips. I have a few questions. My leaves are now drooping down, however the soil isn't indicating that it's dry & when I re-water they come back to life again. Should I back away from watering for a day or two to see what the outcome is? Thanks :)

Hi everyone, (@tonino, @grimreefer69, @herbalize) Feeling a little miffed today. My growth light is broken..one of the fans has decided to stop working and I've only had this for about 2-3 months! Does anyone else have this issue with the following LED from ebay? GrimReefer69commented7 years ago
@Bunker, Hello mate, Meizhi, Mars Hydro, Roleadro, are brands I can personally recommend, having used these lights, and being the owner of all 3 brands. You can replace the fan, just buy a replacement from ebay, and attach it inside the LED Panel, removing the old one first. If you feel confident.

Hello, yes no nutes for the first couple of weeks at least, and when you do use them use a quarter strength, and gradually build up to half strength, and keep a careful eye on them. My advice with soil, always use the best you can get, two excellent examples for growing weed are: BioBizz Light mix soil, or Plagron Light mix, these are highly recommended. Yeah so no nutes for first couple of weeks, and then add a very small amount to see how they do. Bloom nutes when they start flowering. Wood fibre is fine, I would also add 30% perlite to the mix in your soil next time, otherwise should be good to go.

@GrimReefer69, thanks. I'm transferring this am.
GrimReefer69
GrimReefer69commented7 years ago
@Bunker, Hi, I would use new fresh soil, and discard the old (but differences of opinion may exist here), your soil mix sounds fine, just ensure it's light and can drain water easily without clogging up, the perlite will hopefully support this process, hope this helps and good luck with it, don't be afraid to ask questions., we are all learning here.. ๐Ÿ˜‰
Bunker
Bunkercommented7 years ago
@GrimReefer69, thanks for the tips. I'm preparing some soil now in the background and I'll certainly be adding 30% perlite this time! Last time it was added too late and couldn't dig too deep down to add it. I was thinking of leaving a 30% perlite, 60% vitalink professional soil and 10% compost mix and leaving it indoors for a couple of days to meet regular temp. Do I carry some of the old soil across still, or do I remove the old soil and rely on new stuff? Thanks.
BigDaddyK
BigDaddyKcommentedweek 97 years ago
Hi , firstly test the runoff ,for PH and EC , then you will know what is causing problems , if you don't wash all the acid away in the 5-6 week of veg then the soil gets too acidic causing lockout ( which looks like deficiencies) you then add more which causes more issues , happy growing ๐Ÿ‘

@BigDaddyK, great tips! Thanks. I currently use 6.5 ph water that I create using a ph-down liquid. Perhaps some ph levels are different in the soil, so a test would be useful. Should I do a run off test by running 'normal water' through the top and collecting ph and ec underneath? Thanks, Bunker :)

Very very healthy and approaching the finish line, only getting fatter! edit: @Bunker, I do not have epilepsy but i do have fibromyalgia and my pharmaceutical treatment (lyrica, pregabalin) is an anti-convulsant. CBD is at least as effective at keeping my muscles from the long spasmodic contractions that keep me locked up as the pharmaceutical. If you find any specific strain that helps your epilepsy more than other cbd strains -- I have found some have more potent anti muscle spasm which should be anticonvulsant action than others -- please report. I have almost nothing to go on as well in terms of *which* cbd plants I should be growing. I expect there to be more crossover in terms of what's effective for epilepsy and fibro than one would think.

your light, especially an led, should be at the top of the tent. the light needs to spread out. your plant is about a 35 watt plant. if you give it 300 watts its going to run away fast. the plant cannot go faster than 100%. the nutrient bottles are way, way, way to high. the nutrient bottles make an assumption that you probably don't know about. their bottle assumes you have 10 plants in vegged under 600 watts in 1 gallon buckets, flowered under a 1000 watt light in 5 gallon bucket. and those measurments are not to be fed weekly. the max ppm you should ever be at is the wattage of your light. 400 watt light 400 ppm, and thats for the week total

Hello Bunker Could you put more photos because I do not see well on this one How big are your pots, and how do you water? Everyday ? Can be an overwatering, would say that it is green but yellowed a little What kind of potting soil do you use? Your humidity is too low, at this stage it should be 60/70% I see you have 19 hours of light, you could go to 18h is what everyone advises Try to give us more info and pictures and I would try to help with pleasure ๐Ÿ‘Š
Bunker
Bunkercommented7 years ago
@Herbalize, thank you again. I've calculated that my plant pot volume is 2 litres, so 20% of this is 400 ml watering every time the water feels dry. I'll attempt to use the finger dry approach, and weigh it when dry too so I know what to look out for. Thanks again, Bunker :)
Herbalize
Herbalizecommented7 years ago
@Bunker, try to follow these basic rules and the growth will explode but think to let dry the soil between each watering its important ๐Ÿ˜˜
Herbalize
Herbalizecommented7 years ago
@Bunker, Ok so you overwatering, it is recommended to put a large amount of water (about 20%, for example the size of the pot is 7 liters so 1.4litre watering) but to let dry the soil ( between 2/5 days it depends) , otherwise the roots will rot to know if you can water there are 2 methods: 1: finger in the soil until the 2nd phalanx if it's dry you can water 2: or weigh the pot dry, water and weigh full of water, when it becomes light again you can water Then your soil "feeds plants for up to 4 weeks" so you should not add nutrients before long especially if you repot them For humidity it's a bit low for the growth phase but better than 45% ((55/70 its ok no prob) for flowering 45 60 % its ok ๐Ÿ‘ and last week 30 45 %

@JuanJardinero, just checked my photos from this log (have a look above by clicking to my earliest photos). Looks as though very early on (1-2 weeks), they were pale light green / white. And turned a red / purple-ish quite early on between 2-4 weeks. Hope this helps a little. Bunker :)

@JuanJardinero, hey. I have some photos of what mine looked like from the beginning. I'll attach them to this message. It took a while for mine to take off. How many weeks in are you? Do you have any photos so I can compare? It's definitely worth asking your seed company what they've sent. I personally grow mine for medicinal purposes soley to assist with my epilepsy so I guess anything different to Dinafed wouldn't be useful for me personally. Good luck and send over any useful photos you have :) Thanks, Bunker :)
